Firstly, I would not classify this as a "resort", but the bad verbiage aside, but I would say this is a fairly average hotel with decent accommodations. Our family booked two separate rooms; the family studio and the eco suite. We booked it for 3 nights but only stayed for 2. Pros: -very friendly and helpful staff -affordable and tasty breakfast options (try the coffee!) -close to the beach -additional accommodations (kayaks and canoes) available for extra charge Cons: -AC made room smell like B.O. -water wasn't warm in one room -low shower pressure in both rooms -internet does not work in rooms, only in lobby -BEDBUGS (I shall explain more below) So we only stayed a couple nights but after the first night I noticed some red bumps on my legs. I passed it off as mosquito bites from being on the beach or out at night (although this is unusual for me since I don't usually get bites). After the second night I had a total of 12 bites on my legs. None of the other people in my family (who slept in other beds/rooms) had these bites nor did they have mosquito bites. After doing some research I determined that they were indeed bed bug bites. This wasn't surprising to me considering that our initial impression of the sheets was questionable (very scratchy and felt dirty/sandy) even on our first night. Overall, the bed bugs brought the whole experience down a lot and I'm glad we left early. If you come here maybe avoid booking the econo suit or just check your sheets!!

True to the name, there are hammocks everywhere, including one outside each room's entrance. Awesome pool area with a waterfall and tons of cute seating. And even though Puerto Rico as a whole never fails to delight me (a Minnesotan) with the kindness of the people, the staff of La Jamaca were endlessly thoughtful, friendly, and professional beyond my expectations. The food didn't impress me. I did actually like having breakfast each morning; the eggs, french toast, and coffee were all good. But the dinner entrees we tried were big on quantity, not so big on quality. And pretty high-priced as well. We had taco dinners and a mofongo - the latter was pretty good but quite salty, and the tacos were lacking in flavor. Also can't recommend the avocado toast. One more thing: the shower took 5+ minutes to get above room temperature, and infinity minutes to reach a temperature that could be reasonably described as "hot". But other than that, solid hotel. Clean place, comfortable beds, gated parking area, and again VERY nice staff. I sincerely hope I have a chance to return!

R & R This resort…read moreproperty in Puerto Rico is the perfect place to unwind. I have to start by extending a sincere thanks to my mother-in-law, who booked rooms for our extended family during New Years '24-'25. My wife and I had been to Boquerón once as part of an island roundtripper in 2018, so it was great to revisit the area with my young children. Aquarius Vacation Club sits along the southwestern edge of the island in the Cabo Rojo municipality. We stayed a total of 2 nights and the accommodations were better than expected. Beds were comfy, solid hot water pressure in the shower, spacious rooms and living areas, well-maintained grounds. The resort lost power briefly during our stay, but a backup generator helped keep the lights on...temporarily. Their open-air restaurant, Piscis Café & bar, was very affordable. All 11 adults came here for breakfast each morning and enjoyed a variety of juices ($3.50) and coffees ($3) with our food. Most of us got the standard 2 eggs any style ($8) that came with choice of meat and hash browns. Simple but tasty. The pool area included a splash pad for younger kids and plenty of chaise lounge chairs for adults to lay on, although I wish they would've had more spots in the shade. They also had a game room with DDR, Cruisin' USA and a couple pinball tables, sadly the latter were broken :( why y'all gotta tease me like that? There's beachfront access to Playa Boqueron for those staying at the resort, and you can rent kayaks or jet skis not too far from here. The plaza was absolutely buzzing with activity at all hours of the day, but the numerous bars & restaurants really come alive at night--we even saw street karaoke! For me, the highlight of the visit (hell, the whole trip) was watching the year's final sunset with my wife on a jetty. The hues of orange and magenta swirling in the early evening sky were better than a painting, just two people in love watching the sun go down. *lets out a longing sigh* * TL;DR * I couldn't have asked for a more idyllic way to close out 2024. I felt relaxed, I got some much-needed rest, and I got to watch fireworks from our hotel balcony with the people I care most about. Never spending NYE in icy cold weather again! All kidding aside, everyone had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend Aquarius Vacation Club as a place for families to stay. Rates are roughly $125-$150 per night. (oh, we saw plenty of decently-sized iguanas hanging around, which is old hat to a local Boricua but very exotic for a Midwesterner)

An Unforgettable Stay at Villa Cofresi - Truly Exceptional Hospitality…read moreOur stay at Villa Cofresi in Rincón, Puerto Rico turned an unexpected situation into one of the most memorable experiences of our trip--and honestly, one of the best hotel stays we've ever had. We were originally staying at a different 5-star resort and were scheduled to fly out today. Due to a flight cancellation and the resort's inability to extend our stay, we had to book Villa Cofresi at the very last moment. We are genuinely glad this happened, because it led us to discover a place we will return to again and again. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality and customer service were exceptional. Gonzalez at the front desk, who is absolutely wonderful, went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, supported, and genuinely cared for during a stressful and unexpected situation. She took the time to learn that it was my birthday week, and without us expecting anything at all, she surprised me with a thoughtful little gift left in our room. That level of care truly touched our hearts. To make it even more special, the owner, Sandra Caro, graciously sent a bottle of champagne on behalf of the hotel and staff to celebrate my birthday. This incredibly kind gesture speaks volumes about her leadership and the culture of warmth and generosity she has created at Villa Cofresi. The villa itself is immaculate--spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and perfectly located. The views are absolutely stunning, the location is fantastic, and every single staff member we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. The atmosphere feels genuine, relaxed, and personal--something that many so-called luxury resorts simply don't offer. What truly sets Villa Cofresi apart is how the team goes out of their way to make guests feel special and valued, even when arriving under last-minute circumstances. In many ways, the service here exceeded that of the 5-star resort we were previously staying at. From now on, Villa Cofresi will be our place to stay whenever we visit Puerto Rico . We will absolutely be coming back and are highly recommending this hotel to our friends and family. Thank you to Gonzalez, Sandra Caro, and the entire Villa Cofresi team for turning an unexpected event--and my birthday week--into such a meaningful and unforgettable experience.

We reserved a table at the balcony right at sunset at 6pm. We arrived and promptly got thru the security and were taken to our table and it was the most gorgeous view ever. We ordered the signature drink, The Pirata, and it was delish, very strong , and came in a coconut. We then wanted to order dinner. But no server or employee of any kind came to our table for over an hour after we got our drinks. We waited and waited and when we decided to give up and go elsewhere then finally a server came. So we decided to order since it was about 7:15 and we figured it would take too long to go somewhere else and order. My bf ordered the lobster mofongo in some kind of soup and I got red snapper in a plantain crust. Then again we waited and waited. I was so hungry I started trying to pick the coconut pieces out of my Pirata drink. Finally at 8:11 our food was served, And we were starved. I was prepared to hate the food haha but it was actually so delicious. So I guess come here if you are not starved and have tons of time. And you will get a delicious meal w the most beautiful sunset view.
