From the time we first stepped in the front door, our Realtor, Patricia Murphy, of Village Plaza Realty, was a fountain of knowledge and information not only in regard to the home itself but also in regard to the surrounding area. She was able to answer ANY and ALL of our questions efficiently and in a timely manner not only throughout the home buying process, but even now, three weeks after our closing, should any new questions arise. "Buyers" were never qualified, she told me the loan went through and to "pack up and leave". I trusted her and moved out of my house and bought another home....turns out they were never qualified and couldn't get a loan. She strung this story along for over 9 MONTHS! She even worked a deal out, with getting cash "under the table", so she could make more money on the commission. In the end, I lost everything, both houses and all my money. She told me she would watch my home in NY, (I moved out of state). Pipes burst, black mold grew in the basement from the water damage, that totally destroyed it, my home was destroyed and it never sold! I've reported her to the Real Estate Commissioner and so have others. She is shady, under handed and lies. She took advantage of my situation and my lack of knowledge about real estate, not to mention the trust of a "friendship". In hindsight, this was planned, as she will buy my house at the foreclosure auction...that's right, I'm losing my house, based on this lying realtor. Don't be her next victim. While I blame her 99%, I also blame myself for trusting the town drunk to ever handle my estate. Now she is laughing all the way to the bank, I'm facing being homeless. I wanted to but i was in deep with another realtor and a co-op for which i am STILL waiting to go to closing. This sounds very confusing but its pretty simple. I walked into newman realty and sat down with a man by the name of George Scherer. I explained the situation that is still ongoing and rather than steer me away from it and try to sell me something i realy wasn't interested in he went out of his way to do everything and anything to help me find out what the deal was with this piece of property. I couldn't believe it....this would not benefit him at all yet he took the time to make phone calls even GO to the open house and ask questions that could only be asked and answered by professional realtors. He gave me information i couldn't get from anyone else. And even if he hadn't found any thing, i was so touched by this man's actions. he barely knew me but was so determined to help knowing full well this wasn't going to be any kind of sale in the near future- i swear if i was rich or won the lottery i would have gladly given him something for his time and trouble.
