Cozy, delicious and so affordable! My husband and I walked in on a Friday night and was able to snag a table right away. The restaurant is small and you will sit close to neighboring tables but it adds to the coziness. They have the menu in German and English. Prices are super affordable and portions are shareable. My husband and I ordered the Canh Chua Ca (~€5: could be a whole meal or shared by two for a starter), squid salad (a cold salad that's light and also shareable), crispy duck with roasted vegetable and curry sauce (~€7: great portion for a main) and pho bo (~€5: a small bowl of pho but this gives you a chance to try or share other dishes). So, so bad. This place is everything that is wrong with Berlin Mitte. A tourist trap, and there's a reason why it's cheap. They got my order wrong despite me confirming 2 times, and I got it all the way home a few blocks away. Decided to try to eat it anyway. It was so terrible, with only wilted cabbage as the "vegetables" and the blandest sauce. I had to go back. When i got there they barely acknowledged my request. The guy behind the counter was taking a selfie after I told him my order was incorrect - I'm not even joking. Then when i asked for it extra spicy, he cut up a pepper into the soup without washing his hands (touching phone, money, etc). WTF. Got recommended to go to Com Viet because they have "the best soup I've ever tried", so, on the first night in Berlin we went here to try it out and boy, they did not disappoint. It is a small place and from what I gather it is usually crowded (it was both of the times we were there). But we managed to get a small table for two. The interior consists of a lot of bambu, old paintings etc but not in a cheesy way, it fits the style of the place. We ordered two different soups and some spring rolls and the the young waiter was friendly and attentive. Upon receiving the spring rolls we were amazed, especially with the fresh spring rolls in rice paper, absolutely delicious if you're into that. I might have an affection for it since I've eaten this a lot in the past in the african cuisine with fish sauce, this time it was with some sort of vinegar, still good. After that we got one rice noodle soup with tofu and one glass noodle soup with surimi (I think) which were very tasty and the heat was well needed on this snowy evening in Berlin. I would say they were spicy enough, but since I am a fan of heat I did add some extra gunpowder to it. ;) And the price? I would say very cheap without affecting the quality of the food. The spring rolls where 1EUR each so I recommend starting with some of the fresh ones in rice paper (the fried where also good, but I myself am not that much into fried foods). There are a couple of things keeping this from being a five star review. We actually went here on another night with a couple of friends where we had to wait outside for about ten minutes to get a table, I don't mind that, as I said it is a popular place. But later during serving they forgot two of our dishes, one of which was a main course, which meant one of us had to sit and wait. A big no-no in restaurants I think, especially with such a long delay as this. On top of that it was a bit hard to get their attention this evening. So I can understand some of the negative reviews here, I guess it depends on the day and if you're a larger group (more than two ;)). A bowl of pho for €3,50 -- you just can't beat it! I've been to Com Viet four or five times now and it has become my go-to for a tasty, heart-warming bowl of pho during Berlin's fall and winter months. The broth is tremendous, if not a bit over-seasoned sometimes. But nevertheless, I have never had a bad meal here. In addition to the food, the restaurant itself has a warm and cozy feel to it. It is very small, almost cramped, but this contributes to its charm. The walls are crowded with Vietnamese paraphernalia and paintings, traditional music can be heard softly playing in the background, and the thick smell of homemade soups, rice, noodle dishes wafts through the air as soon as you walk inside. My only minor complaint about Com Viet is that the service can be rather rushed and inattentive sometimes, and the servers usually do not speak German or English well. This can become an issue for those, like me, with food allergies. For this reason, I usually stick to dishes whose ingredients I am sure about. Recommendation: Visiting Com Viet for a bowl of fragrant, steaming pho in the biting cold of an early winter evening before catching a film at the Babylon theater down the street. Maybe choosed the wrong dish today (lunch menu A3). Have to put tons of chili, soja sauce etc. in it to make it tasty. Besides the dish I really like the style of the interior. Also the way they serve the food really reminds me of the small foods shops in Asia (see pics) . It's definitely the cheapest Asia takeaway around Alexanderplatz. An absolute horror story of a restaurant experience if I've ever had one. Looked nice from the outside, so I decided to go eat there with a colleague. I ordered some beefs noodles where as my colleague ordered a coconut soup. Seated around a small comfortable table escaping the abysmal weather outside, we were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices and cozy interior. Unfortunately, what we received could barely be called food. In fact, it was literally inedible. My noodles were severely undercooked and were all stuck together in a big sticky lump. My colleague's soup was filled with white flakes, strange chunks and a piece of hair. My collegue and I could not believe our own eyes as we looked at our plates. I'm very tolerant and open-minded when it comes to food, and I usually refrain from being overly critical, but this particular restaurant has gone too far. I have rarely been so angry and disappointing! I was trying to complain to the staff about the food in German, but it seems that they have no grasp of the language (or at least pretend like they don't). This is probably the only time in Germany where I have wanted to report a restaurant to the local sanitary agency. Please stay away from this place! read more

the price-performance balance in comparison to other restaurants in Berlin-Mitte = top for around 5EUR you get a full warm meal + tea , what I think it is a nice deal. The mango milk shake is very good, but I suggest the coconut- fresh ananas drink. It's a very little restaurant with mostly quick service. Basicly it is clean, but not perfekt. Seems to be little trashy style but nevertheless it has a KULT asian image! Hope the quality keeps in that condition, so Berlin has a one more very nice little place to be. The Vietnamese woman who took our order was very polite and patiently indulged our questions even though she had very limited English. Very small restaurant with tables turning several times over during our 50 minute visit. Super casual, with very low stools to sit on. Low-lit, with cool decor on the walls. Very inexpensive- soups for 3 Euro, mains for 5.50-8.00. We each had soup, a main, a half liter beer, and a Mango Juice and the check came to 24. The Crispy Duck with curry sauce was delicious. Lots of locals came in for a very quick meal while we visited- when there wasn't a table they ordered and then a table would open up and their food would arrive a couple of minutes later. I was few times at Com Viet and i must say that each time the food was not very good. The vegetables are not very fresh, and the tofu seems old, or fried too long before they serve it. I had some dishes with Tofu and vegetables/rice(mediocre), a noodle salat with Tofu(pretty bad) and the Rollen (which are maybe a bit better). Even if this place is close to my office and is cheap, i dont think that ill go there again. read more

literally create a yelp account just so i could leave this review. that was by far the most hideous vietnamese meal i've had in berlin after 2 years of living here and trying as many viet places i can. the springroll was made of a very thick layer of rice paper that was then deep fried, the texture was just a sticky mess with very little filling. i ordered the knusprig chicken with haussoße and salad. the sauce was one of the worst things i have ever put in my mouth. it tasted like oyster sauce from a tin, mixed with vinegar or some form of sewage water. honestly, i put a bunch of napkins on my plate to stop the sauce from touching my meal. the chicken managed to be both greasy and dry all at once. the rice was one big glob of tasteless fluff. the servers were completely uninterested. please, for the love of god, do not eat at this, the 7th circle of hell. read more
