Jazz club, with dinner and drinks…read more
My experience was so so- some good, some bad.
We reserved at the venue ahead of time, and showed up on time for the dinner. There was a complicated situation and I asked the Maitre D if it would be ok if I spoke to him in a little English because the situation exceeded my French Skills. From that moment on, the maitre D was a total jerk to me personally, even later when heading to the restrooms he mocked me a little for missing the signs and needing to ask directions. I don't experience much rudeness in Paris, but this guy poisoned the night,
The venue itself was nice- think of dinner theatre, everyone seated sipping cocktails, coffees, finishing dessert, watching the show- small, intimate. Curious, it was Bossa Nova Jazz, and no one danced- I don't know if it was forbidden of if folks just don't dance in this venue.
Our waiter was EXCEPTIONAL and made up for the Maitre D(ouchebag). Our food was good, solid- the menu included an entree, plat, dessert, coffee, wine plus the show for 60 Euros. I had no complaints.
The place was HOT, boiling hot. We sat and sweated. The performance we saw was good, solid, nothing inspiring or memorable.
I am glad I went, but probably won't go back.
