I called into the nurses emergency hotline with his being the holiday weekend. i had a laparoscopy about a month ago and since, I have had two menstrual cycles. The first one that started two days after surgery and lasted two days and then i believe that i started my cycle about 3 days ago now. But the flow is very heavy and very large clots are passing through and when i called in to speak to someone about it, initially tried to say it was from surgery but then I grabbed her attention for all of two seconds and told her surgery was a month ago and she said "well, if that's the case then it can't be from surgery" and told me she doesn't know what it could be. She didn't give me any advise on how to relieve the pain that I was feeling or anything. She then asked "if it happened 3 days ago, what took you so long to call?" I said "well because it's a holiday weekend and I figured you all weren't opened" and she stated "well, you're right. We weren't." She then stated "well it's not that serious since you're not bleeding. Just call your doctor when the office opens." I then grabbed her attention again for all of 0.25 seconds and told her that I am in fact still bleeding and she said well she doesn't know and to call my doctor for during office hours tomorrow. I feel like I was prejudged and dismissed because in the medical field, black women don't feel any pain in their eyes.

I continued to see her for the following year for regular check ups. I highly recommend Dr. Goist. I found her to be very thorough and patient. Her nurses were always very friendly and helpful. I found them to be very helpful as well.

I have been coming to the clinic for four years now and I have never been displeased. I see Dr…read more Jacqueline Rohl. She is very experienced, friendly, outgoing, and easy to talk to. I think that's very important when selecting a doctor in this area. I would recommend her to any of my friends. She takes time to make sure all your questions are answered and always remembers who I am and my medical history [and I only come in once a year!]. Sometimes this office gets busy and there is a long wait; however, I went today and arrived 40 minutes early. I got into and out of my appointment before I was even scheduled, which I appreciated. So I think the wait time is really hit or miss. Going to an OSUMC doctor will always be like this, because it's such a large facility and they see so many patients. My only concern is with billing. I read a review from Emily H. below about insurance advice/billing and I sympathize and agree with her. I had an issue where they charged me $288 for some tests that they had told me were covered by insurance. After a lot of fighting I stopped receiving the bill, and to my knowledge the matter was solved. I think you just have to be persistent with them. They see so many people and seem to not be as organized as they could be. All-in-all though, I have only had good experiences here. I don't mind the waiting and things like that because Dr. Rohl herself is an awesome doctor!

After I graduated and could no longer utilize the Student Health Center, I was looking for a doctor…read morewho was at OSU. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Goist. She was perfectly nice, but didn't seem to realize that women have 13 cycles in a year (meaning I need 12 refills for a prescription, not 11). When I had an after-hours question regarding when I should start said prescription, I left a detailed voicemail... and never got a response. Fast forward to 11 months later, when I need to make my next appointment. My insurance at the time would not cover anything, so I asked their billing department how much everything (exam and lab fees) would cost. $180, they tell me. I figure that while it seems a lot, it's a small price to be assured of my health. I make an appointment, which the office later calls back and changes to a different date and time. (It worked in my favor, so no complaints there.) While Dr. Goist was still friendly, the entire time of the appointment, from checking in with the receptionist to walking out, was 7 minutes. I wasn't asking for a long chatty visit, but I also don't like to feel like I'm being rushed. Again, the prescription was made out with 11 refills, not 12. And the cherry on top? The bill didn't arrive until 3 months later, because the office insisted on billing my insurance even though I told them they wouldn't cover anything. And the damage ended up being over $300. There was nothing complicated about my case whatsoever, so I can't even blame it on extra lab fees or anything. I've been very disappointed with my experience and overall got the impression that I was just a number and a bill to them. I don't have anyone else to recommend but would suggest that you avoid this office (or at least Dr. Goist).

Of course, it took a minute to locate me. But once they did, I was properly setup in just a few minutes. This was for an eye exam and optic nerve photos. I was told the visit would be 1-4 hours so I expected it to take a while. My physician was on-call which left her dealing with emergency patients while conducting her scheduled patients. At one point I played a game of "What are the differences between Exam Room A and Exam Room B" during my longest wait which was 30 minutes. It's an industry issue - same types of waits at my former eye physician office as well. Even with the wait, the appointment ended up being 3 hours and 20 minutes. All the staff were pleasant. I felt like an individual who was being heard. The decor was generally scarlet and (mostly) grey with some black thrown in. There is a little "cafe" on the first floor but it looks like it's really just a place to pick up a snack or drink while they are open. The building is next to the Spectrum Building at Gowdy Field and is easy to get in and out of. I didn't notice any bike racks. There is a traffic light there but at busy times of day, people will run it, so be careful!

All of the nurses and imaging specialists are wonderful. I've been to each location and they have signs letting you know that due to their specialty, appointments may take hours. This particular location has a small waiting room once you're called back, but it's manageable. For the care I've received, I couldn't recommend them more! A special note: Gabby (one of the nurses) was super helpful by suggesting I keep my eye drops refrigerated to help soothe the scratchiness post treatment. She also explained everything she was doing!
