The inside of the restaurant was a bit dark and stuffy, so we opted to sit outdoors on the much livelier patio. Plus, nothing beats sitting outside at a Parisian cafe while people watching and sipping a coffee.
Speaking of the coffee, it was fantastic. A bit pricey at 4 euro for a small cup, but was still some of the best coffee that I had all trip. It was the perfect boost that I needed to kick start day 1 in Paris after a grueling red eye flight with a layover in Iceland.
But enough about layovers in Iceland and on to the eats. The croque monsieur here was pretty damn perfect. A thick hearty piece of bread smothered in swiss cheese and ham. So simple, yet so tasty. The sandwich also came paired with fries and a small side salad. Once again, definitely pretty $$$ at something like 11 euros for the sandwich, but I knew that was what to expect in this area.
If insane hunger wasn't calling, I probably would have preferred my first meal in Paris to be somewhere a little more authentic and a little less overpriced. But, this was still a solid place to grab a satisfying meal. And when that satisfying meal is smothered in cheese and taking place on an outdoor patio in Paris then you really can't go wrong.
