Let me be the first to say that I am the type of person to see one bad review and steer clear of a place, I know the value of even a stranger's recommendations. Right before the holidays I had an emergency root canal done at a different dental office. Four months later I was in excruciating pain. I was recommended to Dr. Luciano at the Manchester office. To make a long story short my previous Dentist did not perform the surgery correctly and we needed to redo the root canal. Dr. Luciano, Gigi, and their team provided a level of service that completely exceeded my expectations, and more importantly they save my severely damaged tooth. Came in with a tooth ache, very poor communication skills, pulled the tooth and informed me that I needed to return the next day to have another tooth extracted, I had no problems with that tooth. I was given a prescription for antibiotics, my pharmacist would not fill it, said the dentist was not licensed to order meds . I had been suspicious of the dental group as the office was not clean, I was told they have14 offices and don't accept too many dental insurances. With all this information I am concerned if any of these "dentists" are even qualified to practice dentistry ,why are they not licensed to write scripts ? I think they need to be inspected by the health Department. My opinion is find another dental practice, this group has questionable practices. read more

I went to Columbia dental in 2024 because they were in network dentists with my insurance company. I had a broken tooth and they fixed it with a cap. I was charged the in network price. In 2025 I broke another tooth and they where still listed in network, but when they processed the claim it was processed as an out of network claim. I had to pay over 2 times more. I requested that the same dentist that fixed my tooth in 2024 do the work in 2025. I was told that that dentist did not work for them any more, that was a lie. I saw that dentist when I went back to get my cap. I do not recommend this practice. read more

I have had two root canals and three dental implants, including cleaning, X-rays and everything needed to care for our teeth. All our experiences were great. I walked into Columbia Dental office (Parkade office) for a tooth extraction today. I was met with the most friendly and helpful receptionist I would even hope to find. I was nervous even though I did take two Ativan before walking in. I am deathly afraid of the dentist and the condition of my teeth shows it. I was almost 45 mins early and they took me in right away and took an X-ray and brought me directly to my room. It was clean and very professional. The lady who brought me back was very professional, courteous, and helpful. Very understanding of my fears. I was planning on nitric oxide before the extraction however upon speaking with the surgeon I found out I was not a good candidate which made me even more apprehensive however understanding why was the key and he explained it very well. I told myself I got through Moh's surgery, and hand surgery this year and I got through a most traumatic birth 15 years ago that a simple tooth extraction should be a walk in the park since I did not have anything but lidacane with the Moh's and didn't feel it. I gird my loins and allowed him to put the novacane in my mouth. I remembered to breath deeply and slowly concentrating on that and where I was tensing up. I learned to tense at my legs and feet and fingers while they are working on my head (just a pointer for anyone who needs something that works). Concentrating on breathing and where I am tensing muscles seems to help do the trick of not tensing where they are putting the needles. The other thing is humming....you just start to hum and let it be any tune you like...and for me today unfortunately it was Christmas songs. After this, and the numbness was full on he began to work and made sure I could not feel anything when he extracted the tooth which no lie was done in no less than two seconds flat. I felt nothing and they were all so nice that I was not nervous about anything. The aftercare with the instructions and medications have taken and helped manage the pain after the numbness wears off. Now it's up to me to do my part of the doctoring and do as they say. I would say out of FIVE stars.... this practice receives a hundred. Professional, clean and sterile office, got in quicker and out quicker than I anticipated, and very caring individuals especially dealing with a very nervous patient. I'm not easy. First off, Aspen Dental Does not take state insurance but sure will lead you on and lie to you just to waste your time and other appointment space in the week. And No Aspen Dental Does not at all follow AIOMT safe removal of amalgam fillings nor does it have the safe equipment. Don't know why since it's more beneficial to have all the supply and equipment and at least one SMART certified dentist that only takes state insurance so the clinic can gain more attraction and more client customers. Now for Columbia dental, they take HUSKEY okay, but they do not have the correct equipment at all or a sanitary environment. They refused to pull my teeth that clearly show decaying and show amalgam decaying and I have evidence from a fluid spit test from quest lab showing high levels of murcery from my mouth. And they refused to pull my tooth and when I made a complaint they said it would be too dangerous because risk of infection. That was their poorest stupidest response to ever give out. All dentistry runs risk of infection it's all on the weighing of risk and it would better the health of the patient to have teeth pulled. Obviously it's safer to pull teeth with amalgam fillings than is to drill them out by far because amalgam fillings are about or more than 50% murcery which in fact causes murcery poisoning and in fact since day one it is put in your mouth. Dentist that use amalgam is because they are wanting cheap.peoducts to make more in return from insurance. People need to rise up about amalgam in USA and in fact almost 100 million people have amalgam fillings in USA. SO, it would be in every dentist office that accepts state insurance to hire and promote a SMART certified dentist that will only take state insurance and there for would make more money because majority of the poor are.on state insurance and more.likely need amalgam fillings removed. So, why not think like that and better society and your business and you will have higher traffic for lower reimbursement from state insurance but at least you can have a ten year streak of high traffick amalgam fillings removals. So no, neither Aspen Dental nor Columbia dental in my experience of both are not worth going to for good dentistry work because the cheap products they use and push and neglect the importance of safe removal of amalgam and neglect the patients explained symptoms or expressing pain. There is no test to measure someones pain and even a general dentist can right client expressed longer term pain relative to teeth with amalgam in my professional option is to remove the whole toth or several teeth because of risk factors and keeping the teeth in would cause client more harm for longer than to keep the teeth in and the risk of drilling the amalgam would be by far more dangerous to expose co workers and the client of murcery gases. So such dentist gets paid and pleases the client. I wish I could upload a picture of my mouth and referral and links to prove all what I expressed. But hey people you read this then do your research. Make sure to demand all dentistry to follow proper IAMOT PROTOCOL and force them to buy proper material and equipment so more people are better helped that being denied and living with murcery poison on going like myself. It's agony, painful, and it will further serious mental health issues and reek havoc on your whole body. Torture and agony. Forcing these dentist to do it right is needed. Educating all dentist office clients should be upheld and dentist shall be held accountable since such knowledge has been out for a very very long time... It's been a terrible experience. I had to pay in full before the procedure. They said insurance companies typically only pay over $700 for my type of procedure. They went on to say that they will issue a credit if insurance pays more than expected. My insurance company paid a lot more over two months ago. For over 6 weeks now when I call, I'm told that the insurance payments weren't recorded yet. I've been emailing proof of my insurance payments to info@ColumbiaDental.com and to their bookkeeper Reich.Cuizon@ColumbiaDental.com. I have not received any responses. They owe me $700. I got my wisdom teeth extracted at this location, while I was chatting with the dental assistant pre-op, she noticed I had listed anxiety/depression on my medical history form. She then made an extremely ignorant and hurtful comment- "I always wondered how girls like you could have depression. I mean there's kids with cancer that are dying" Unfortunately depression is not as ignorant as your employees, and affects peoples of all shapes and sizes. I went to the Parkade location complaining of pain. Once I explained that I have Husky until my work insurance kicks in next week the treatment of my young female doctor changed. She explained that anything that could be done would have to be done when " I got my real insurance next week". She provided NO SOLUTIONS about the problem I went in with until I asked at which time she suggested that I could come get a root canal next week but, that my insurance would not cover anything other then an extraction since I already have a missing tooth in my lower left quadrant. I'm like, okay I know my current state insurance can be a bit whack so I took no issue with her comment. However, she continued to tell me that it would be okay to extract the problematic tooth, since my partial denture covers that tooth anyway. STOP FOR A MOMENT: PICTURE A DENTURE ON TOP OF A MOLAR. I'D BE UNABLE TO CLOSE MY MOUTH, DUH! She then told me that she could get me in next week, my current pain and swelling didn't count I guess. She stated that I have the same painful problem in my upper left quadrant, which have no teeth missing so why did we not perform or schedule a root canal on that one. Lastly, she goes on to say, after I prompt her to provide me an antibiotic, because she didn't offer, when I come in next week I be able to discuss getting "a new metal partial". Overall a good place! I've been to this office a few times. I travel to this area for work and started getting treatment here because of their extended hours. Front desk ladies are friendly. I got a root canal, some fillings and a cleaning here. Was treated by a couple of different doctors and each time, they explained nicely and answered my questions. I had another Root Canal and once again I had a very good experience. The Endodontist is very pleasant, she explains everything, and I only had soreness after, which is to be expected. The staff is very nice in Parkade. They seem to understand that people are afraid, so if your not in such a good mood when you go there, they don't take it out on you like many offices do. My girlfriend had a crown done at the Bristol office. The temporary fell out 3 times, once less than an hour after leaving the office. She went to the Waterbury location out of concern the Bristol Dentist didn't know what he was doing.... it was confirmed by THEIR OWN DENTIST that it was "Extremely odd and unusually " for the surrounding teeth to be shaved down. He attempted to retract his statements after he found out the work was done by another Columbia location. I had to send multiple E-mails and make many calls to finally speak to someone at corporate. I spoke with Jeff Smith whom promised me a call back and lied. He replied via E-mail and with what he was told rather than provide customer care and listen to what happened and speak directly with us. Several times now I have had to follow up myself to ensure they called for prior auth from my insurance and I have also had to leave half way through an appointment after waiting in the room for my procedure to start. Recently I called to reschedule an appointment after a major storm that caused power outages and downed trees. I cannot thank the staff and doctors here enough. Years of pain had been solved in a few appointments. They were supportive, communicative, and all of my fears of oral surgery were put to rest. I remember little of the surgery, other than someone holding my hand when I felt anything. Days later, and I'm pretty much pain-free. So I recently moved from out of state. I knew I needed a root canal for months but delayed getting treatment because I was too scared. I called the office and they scheduled me the next day with the specialist, Dr. Luciano. She set me at ease instantly. Her assistant Gigi was delightful and thorough. OK, So a root canal is nothing to dream of. A re-root is less so. However, CD in general got me right in, say the problem (quickly took care of a stray cavity along the way). Then Dr. Luciano and her trusty sidekick Gigi (hope I spelled it right) very patiently worked to rescue a years-old root-canal gone bad. I will not say there was no discomfort or pain, but compared to the first one, and my many earlier experiences, it was relatively simple. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! THE RECEPTIONIST AND THE MANAGER YOLA ARE TERRIBLE. I was given an amount that I would need to pay to get 2 fillings, $81. Few weeks later I get a bill for $52.80, I contacted their billing department and they were as confused as I was and told me I needed to contact the office and speak to the office manager Yola, of course she was unavailable so I left a message to the receptionist to have the manager contact me. But of course 2 weeks have gone by and no phone call, I contacted them today explaining the situation and was told that oh well that's just an estimation of what the bill might be its never the exact amount depending on your insurance, I explained to the receptionist that that was not explained to me at the time I paid the $81 nor when I was told that was the amount it would cost, nor when I called the billing department. I said I wanted to speak to the office manager, the receptionist has the nerves to say well I can try and see if she's available, I said ok, after him trying 2 times he states well what do you want me to do, I can leave her message to call you back but I cannot guarantee she will call you.....like who says that, this is the kind of dental business you guys have running, no one calls anyone back oh well.....so then after asking to leave a message, I contacted the billing department explaining that I have been trying to get in touch with the office manager to resolve my issue but that I was told by the receptionist its not a guarantee she will be contacting me. The billing rep attempted to contact the office manager as well and said that she was unable to get a hold of her but that she will continue trying and once does will have her call me back. Not even 2 min goes by magically the office manager contacts me, I explained the situation as to why I got this bill and her response was well we only explain that the amount was an estimation, and I tried explaining to her that that was not explained to me at all, that the receptionist said here sign this, this is the amount you will be responsible for $81.00, THATS IT. Not oh this is just an estimate by the way, you might have to pay more....Nothing. And all this manager can say is well your responsible for the bill, theres nothing we can do. If I had known that it was just an estimate I would have contacted my insurance to get the exact amount they would cover, I have 4 kids and cannot afford much, I would have waited or shopped around elsewhere to have options. I am HIGHLY UPSET AND DO NOT RECOMMEND COLUMBIA DENTAL. My 1st and last time going there for my dental work, everywhere else I have went to before for anything having to use insurance, I have never dealt with this. I was in there about a month ago to set up an appointment to have my wisdom teeth removed. My appointment was set up for today. I have a huge fear of oral surgery so I asked to be completely sedated for the surgery. Everything was fine for today. Last night I did all the prep for being sedated. I get there this morning and they tell me that my insurance wouldn't cover sedation. I assumed I was all set because they told me I was. No one bothered to call me and tell me that I was no longer covered. I was in tears not knowing what to do. I ended up having to take two Xanax before they could even use the laughing gas. On top of that I think they pulled the wrong teeth. I have to follow up with my dentist and see if they in fact did pull the wrong teeth. If they did I plan to sue the crap out of them. I went to Columbia dental and it was the biggest mistake that I ever made. I had wonderful teeth. I needed a root canal and I sat in the chair for 5 hours because they are a factory and work on 5 people at once. They put a crown on my tooth that was too large and it broker the tooth next to it and I had to have that tooth pulled.
