If today's performance was any indication of the quality of what goes on there, I am going back a lot. Community theater is alive and well in Somerset. The acting, vocals, music, sets and costuming was beyond. I have seen many, many Broadway performances and, quite honestly at $20 per ticket and avoiding the schlep into Manhattan, this offers as much if not more entertainment value. It certainly equalled or exceeded anything I have seen at Bergen PAC or Papermill. If anyone reading this review is even remotely considering attending a performance at this gem, I recommend purchasing tickets now. What a terrific way to spend a Sunday afternoon. 5 enthusiastic stars. Amazing. Really amazing.

Great venue for a concert, standing room only (not really my first preference these days), parking is available but goes fast (early arrival gives the best opportunity). We did not have the food. The service as far as entering the venue, showing your tickets, etcetera was seamless. Again, there's no vip seating or box seats, it's a bowling alley turned concert venue so general admission/first come first serve rules apply. My only gripe would be how cold it was inside. Of course, the more crowded, the less chilly. But still, you could feel a draft whenever the doors opened. Overall, we had a wonderful time. I'd go again!

The beach nearby and plenty of activities is a good start. The actual campus was much more scenic than I thought. Very impressive. The professors and students that we met on the visit were all very nice and informative. The students seemed to be happy to be attending the university and had seemed eager to promote the student body and faculty. My daughter would like to major in Marine Biology and both professors we met in that field were great. Made me wish I was going to college listening to them. Both were very knowledgeable and helpful. I would think that the classes they taught would be great. My daughter is still looking but they made a great impression. Definitely have your kid at least give them a look.

It was very enjoyable seeing her emulating the 20th century surrealists ie. Dali and Magritte. Artwork on both floors were displayed and open to the public. One could cycle thru the gallery to view the works of these Seniors. This show exemplified the talent and hard work of the art department at Monmouth University.

They begun their organization back in 1998 and have great people working for them. I acted her in the Fall of 2005 as Elaine in Arsenic and Old Lace and it was my acting debut and loved every minute of it. They do have seasoned actors/actresses but welcome all to come down and audition for a part. I was just doing so for their current production, "Our Town" and will find out if I succeeded in the role as Emily or if the director feels like going in a different direction. They have two productions per year and are constantly reinventing themselves. The directors are not always the same, but I worked with one of the founders, Gary Stern who took a chance on me and I found to be a great guy to work under. The stage manager Grace and production Wanda also complimented the place nicely. You will truly feel at home and will enjoy the good "stress" that performing brings. Even if you don't feel like acting, you should support them and come and watch the final performances which will be held this November. You get great dessert and it costs under 20 for a ticket. Auditions are happening today and tomorrow so hurry on over, if you dare to be different.
