I have been trying to fix it ever since and it has grown a long way! I was trusting this girl with a lot and asked for a partial highlight! I didn't want the most in the back but I still wanted a little, so it blended everything etc. the service included a haircut and was 300 dollars! I was in the salon and it looked different but the moment I stepped outside my hair was orange and extremely chunky. The pictures I was taking doesn't do justice and you can barely see but my root wasn't touched enough because there are spots of orange. She said she had 14 years of experience but it sure didn't seem like it! She left it on too long after telling her my hair is fragile and to put in perspective, her herself has chunky highlights and she asked if I would like them more chunky like hers or natural. I obviously responded natural and showed her MULTIPLE references photos. By the end on of the stylists was like oh it's chunky like yours when that's never why I asked for. I sent her a very respectful message and got a great response back however when I kept explaining the issues she would read and not respond my messages, which I thought was disrespectful considering what she had done on my hair! I have been doing my hair with Cortney since February 2022, she was highly recommended by a friend of mine. I've always had long hair and felt I needed a change, besides having dry and damaged hair after several old balayages... I left very happy after cutting 8 inches of hair. I usually have a hard time trusting someone with my hair but finally found a person I can trust. I waited close to 6 months to get my hair colored again, so decided to do partial balayage and really liked the results. Cortney is by far the best specialist you can trust, that does her job with attention to details and clients. She asked me detailed questions to know exactly what I wanted. BEWARE! I've been charged different amounts at each visit for the exact same service. They changed their pricing to an hourly rate, said they sent an email notice (which I conveniently never received), and then still charge for the services on top of it. (Yes, the stylist verbally told me about the price increase as I was sitting in the chair at my appointment - no chance to review or understand.)They also leave about 1/4" gap between your hair/roots and scalp when applying color so it immediately looks grown out. Not at all worth the cost/extremely overpriced. Very disappointed. When I spoke to the owner, she was rude and basically said she wasn't sure what all the stylist had done. Maybe she did more foils or used more color. Well, a partial highlight should be a partial highlight. Not something different everytime with a different price when the time spent was the same or less. I was also charged different prices before they switched to hourly. Bottom line, all she cares about is money and trying to get as much out of you as possible. Will never go back. read more

They were so great at my root touch up. I mentioned being on a time crunch and she was always checking to make sure we had enough time. She made it work! I will most definitely be coming back for a partial balayage. My hair is very thick and every now and then I get alopecia. Well she found a small patch of missing hair the size of a dime and instead of just assuming I knew, she let me know. Allison tried to explain a different technique that I was not familiar with so I asked questions. She was annoyed to say the least. She yelled at me and threatened to stop in the middle. I've been getting my hair done for 30 years and NEVER encountered anything like it. Couldn't wait to leave. Then they don't have a receptionist so you pay her and she asked for a tip. Very disappointed with my experience. I wanted balayage and when scheduling with the owner, Ola, i was referred to Kali. Unfortunately, the balayage was less than great. It was very uneven and not well blended (see photos). Kali agreed to recolor my hair (back to roots service- I paid for the product), but within two days of the service, my hair was red, especially visible outside. I called and explained the situation in hopes for correction. Kali was less than compassionate and when I sent her photos she said it was "only because of the light " and that she didn't "put an ounce of red in it." It was clear she didn't care. Realizing this, I asked for the owner who was on vacation (returning later this month) as I wanted a refund for my back to roots service. Kali was unable to provide a refund without manager approval so I am left with red hair and out $300. Subpar hair coloring and poor customer service. I would look elsewhere. read more

I got my hair cut and colored by Katie at the ColourBar last week. I cannot day enough good things about Katie. I asked for about 4 inches off and a soft caramel balayage that looked fairly natural. Though out my appointment she checked in about length, color, layering, etc to make sure she was following out my vision. I am so happy with the look. It's EXACTLY what i wanted. I love the way she painted on the balayage and framed my face. The color is exactly what I requested. On top of the great haircut and color I sincerely enjoyed talking to Katie during the appointment, she's a fun woman to chat with and I will definitely come back to see her again. I live near ColourBar and tried them out for the first time this week. All I needed was a trim and unlike other places where they still have to wash, dry, style, up sell - total overkill. I told Ashley exactly what I needed and she had no problem just giving me a quick dry trim. All the employees were so kind as well! I recommend 10/10! Their prices may be more by $5 to $20 compared to other places... but in my opinion it's worth it to get what you want, and not be told a million times about how awesome a $50 shampoo is. read more

My first experience was with Kaylee (sp), and she cut off 4 inches of my hair. I should have called her directly and told her that, but I did not want to hurt her feelings. I should have. Next visit, I next went in and saw Brooke (sp), and she did a great job with coloring. She charged 160 and I tipped 40. She took pictures of my hair. She seemed proud. I called and booked a follow up appointment with Brooke for 9/25. I called a week before my appointment, and I was not able to make that appointment. So I rebooked with her for October 9. I called on October 8, and confirmed that my appointment was for 1 PM. They said yes... It's at 1 PM tomorrow. I showed up at the salon at 1:05 PM on October 9 and the receptionist told me my appointment has been canceled because the stylist did not feel comfortable doing my hair. I asked her why (VERY embarrassed IN FRONT OF ANOTHER CLIENT) and the girl at the front desk said because sometimes people "aren't a good fit" It sounds like Brooke is very young, and doesn't know what professionalism is. I feel extremely sorry for the owner of the salon, because she should probably employ people who know what professionalism is. If there was some sort of problem or connectivity issue, I should've been made very well aware of it long before I showed up that morning. I was told that I had been called to reschedule with Kaylee on 10/11 THAT MORNING... The one who cut off 4 inches of my hair on my first visit... Not long before my appointment was supposed to happen that day. I truly hope that you teach your people that cut hair and color hair how to communicate moving forward. What a disgrace. I will be letting everybody I know that fact. Also, I saw Brooke walk around the corner when I was standing out front excited to get my hair done (and had zero idea what was about to occur) and somebody may want to let her know to get herself together and look better and look the part before she shows up to work to reject money. My hair wasn't awful however it was far more copper then I would have liked. What surprises me is there are not many comments on their price on Yelp. I went in expecting to pay $90 from an ad they posted for all over color and cut. But they ended up trying to charge me more then another ad for color, cut and highlights for $135. How can an all over color cost more then all over color, cut and highlights? Highlights take a lot long and is much more work than an all over single color. Went in there today to have my hair done everything was great I loved my hair and the staff was great with the exception of Olas who I believe is one off the owners, she got into it with one of her employees and then said something to their client and started questioning them as if they were an employee as well. And then after the client left the owner and the rest of the staff attacked the employee infront of me and the other clients that were there. It was very inappropriate and I felt terrible for the employee and their client. As much as I love my hair I probably won't go again after seeing how the employees are treated by the owners. Im sorry but I just cant support a business like that.I understand things happen but as the owner they need to know how to deal with situations in a professional manner and not in front of clients and to involve a client is even more inappropriate. read more
