I transferred in with work and research experience, had zero work studies, research collab, internships while I was there and I asked my department on the regular. I paid them, I got my As, I'm leaving, but would not recommend it to anyone. They had 2 years to make a positive impression on someone actively working in research, and they were ok just not engaging at all. Professors are overpaid and underwork, campus smells like cowpies even inside, they declined to apply an earned transfer scholarship I had from a national honors society. read more

It's a fine school, good science program and okay professors. However, their staff is bullshit. They never answer my, a current student, calls nor my mom's. When you email them, it takes multiple days to respond and most of the time (for me, at least), I'm hoping for a quick response. Housing and Dining services is the worst example of this. My mom and I both called them three times (collectively), both times were on hold for 40+ minutes before getting hung up on. Their hours are 8-11 then 12-4. They hung up on us at 2. Long story short, if you're going here, its expensive for no reason. Choose another last resort school. read more

Wonderful professors and lovely campus. I'm an online student but decided to sign up for a two day class on campus. They had coffee and tea in the morning and catered lunch. The first day was taco buffet and the second day they ordered salad and sandwiches. They also sponsored a happy hour for the students across the street at the Back Door Restaurant. I highly recommend this school as they really seem to care about their students. read more

Everything!! Are these the best pictures you could find on your website? How about the graduating ram mascot, the color guard and cannon blast? NONE of the graduates got their name called. They can go to a seperate department on a different day after this all school ceremony for their acknowledgement if they want to get their name called. This was such an impersonal experience for these graduates who worked so hard to achieve the recognition they deserved but were not given. It was mostly speeches from the admins with the exception of the class president. Diplomas will be mailed. They combined 2024 and 2025 classes. This is what the graduates and parents got for $60,000+ per year. Oh, and you could only use ONE scholarship or grant. The most appalling part is the graduate and parents received their CSU Billing Statement during the ceremony!! These students deserved so much more. They had issues with basic math on their accounting ledgers as well. Double check e ery invoice. read more

My experience with this University has been amazing so far. I know that there may be lots of controversial issues with this school but I have not been affected by any issues thus far. Admin and professors have been very helpful and did a great job when needing to go virtual for classes. The women's Rugby team was phenomenal this year. The 1st year family activities and presentation flow went smooth and I heard that the dorms didn't have too many issues. The food served in the cafes & cafeteria were good and I liked that there are lots of options for every sort of diet ie. vegetarian, gluten free, kosher. read more

I had general admission tickets to the football game on Saturday 9/7/24. We attended the bbq which was great. Then we headed over to the stadium, waited in line to enter when we were told we HAD to enter on the other side of the stadium. My husband is frail and was already struggling to get to the game. The girl at the entrance offered to get a wheelchair but after 20 minutes we went on to find our seats. When we reached the 1st level we asked where general admission section was located. NOT ONE person knew. We asked several of the policemen, workers at the concession stand (who said they were volunteer) some guy in a green CSU polo. In all we asked 15-20 people where are seats were. finally we took 5 seats in sec 123 only to be uprooted as the people who had those seats showed up. Then moved to sec 126, sat down and was kicked out of those seats. Finally another guest showed us where our seats were. Also in sec 123 just a different row. Thank god for her help because no one at CSU was going to help. This was without a doubt the WORST experience EVER. We will never go t another event at CSU. I will be looking for other sites to warn others of the incompetence of your staff and volunteers. That being said for such a nice stadium why is there only one scoreboard in the place and why don't they have a replay system and a PA system that you can hear. The only thing we heard was " 3rd down. I'm ashamed to be associated with CSU being in Colorado. Trust me I will be posting and talking about the Horrible experience we had and telling others not to waste time and money on the games. read more

BEWARE OF WHAT CSU SHOWS YOU FOR HOUSING COMPARED TO WHAT YOU REALLY GET!!!! My son was to move in for the spring semester. We arrived and he was given the key to his room. As we walked up the stair we entered to what seemed to be an out of date rundown dorm. We counted a total of 38 guys on the floor with access to ONE bathroom with 3 toilets - 3 showers with cheap shower curtains and 3 sinks. The dorm room had broken furniture, raggy brown old stained curtains, stains on the floor and uncovered outlets. The hallway was full of garbage, and the common room had broken chairs and tables. CSU's idea of food within this HOUSING, with 4 floors at 38 students a per floor - is 2 vending machines. Realizing we would be paying $6,200 for the dorm room and $360 for parking where he would have to walk AND was told he could not park on campus during football season it is clear that CSU is not about the students its about the money. We walked back down stair to give back the key, no one to be found. The next day we arrived in the morning to gave back the key. He cancelled his classes and we requested our $360 deposit back, and were told he broke a contract and would not be refunded. Again the college is about the money not the care of the students or renovation of the living areas. The positive out of this is he was accepted to a D1 college that is $1,500 less for NEW dorms and $145 for parking. If you're thinking of going to CSU . Take a look at the pictures this is what you will be paying for regarding the dorms . Do your research you can find a better college for the same price or less!!! read more

My dream school. How I wished I would've come here, but never got the chance to. I remember the days when we would drive around with my grandparents before going to the lake or the outlet mall and grandma would encourage me with little CSU keychains. But, I have attended several open houses/ research conferences /programs here. Professors and admissions staff are professional and courteous. The campus is beautiful from the Oval, the gardens, and the atmospheric science facility on the edge of campus. You can see the garden from passing by in your car. Such beautiful area of gardens and a gazebo. There is also lots of parking and that's very admirable. There is a neighborhood and a bunch of shops right next to this University. Everything nearby is very affordable, it makes sense because we could be a broke college kid. There are lots of beauty and green. There is a fraternity house right next to the garden. There is a basketball court, and more houses that stand nearby. I think it's super pretty, and I also got accepted into this University a while back in 2014. Overall a beautiful choice, lots of buildings, and it doesn't look grey. read more

I'm in my second semester at CSU. Campus is gorgeous with Mountain Views. Library is really nice and easy to use. I spend lots of time studying there to help me focus. Most teachers are very helpful. I had one professor who was super condescending and not easy to work with. Other than him, other professors and TAs have been super nice. Food court just opened up a Freddy's which is super cool. Book store is nice and well supplied. Parking sucks. Lol. But I'm pretty sure it's like that at all universities. The professors call the parking permit a fishing license and laugh about it. So always be early to find parking. My fellow students are pretty nice and easy to work with. Especially since we have group projects from Time to time. You have some basic requirements just like any other university. I didn't particularly like my first advisor. She was too busy to care about my future at all. Ugh. But my new advisor is way better and always makes time for me and is very helpful. :) read more

We were here for a college visit and was really impressed with the campus. There is a mix of old and new, with new rec faciliities and a student center to open in the fall. The location is excellent with a quaint downtown to entertain parents when they are visiting their kids. lots of other stuff to do locally. Worst school I have ever been to. Went to a small school in the middle of nowhere in Kansas and it was way better than CSU! The school is awful and has changed so much. They try and force political views down your throat and if you don't agree or voice any opinion other than theirs, might as well fail! If you are in any way religious, well good luck!!! That school is filled with the devil's presence and so is everyone in it. Never seen more people there with mental health issues either. Everyone needs a safe room to go cry in, good thing they got a lot of those surrounding the campus! Granted, Covid was at the beginning, but how they handled that situation, as far as housing, remote classes, no payment adjustment for seriously under providing what they sold us is truly disappointing. They are very much like a unscrupulous used car salesman. They sale these kids a product that they know they won't provide. I'm reminded of CSU every time I make a student loan re-payment for my pre-med/biology studies (2008-2012). Yes I used RamCT. I'm reminded that this is one of the most crooked businesses in the state of CO. Admin. was more concerned with their football and sports programs, new gym, and keeping the grass watered instead of 'school things' like accessible councilors, classrooms stuck in the 70s, lack of diversity, lack of affordable parking, affordable student housing, efficient financial aid dept, good pay for teachers, having enough teachers and not students teaching students... you get the idea. Students are stuck with their group of friends from HighSchool as most (yes, not all) students are from the CO area and at times feel like you're back in HS. The pros are- most of the faculty are really good people and experts in their respective fields. The campus gym is very nice (just shouldn't be the main focus). On-site medical clinic and student insurance is very helpful if full-time student. The Student Legal Services was a lifesaver especially if you need a real lawyer to review your rental lease, or have other general legal needs. Chemistry and Biology lectures were beyond over-crowded. Made it very difficult. Subjects of study where student-teacher ratio is key (sciences, mathematics, etc) was very very bad at the time I went there. Really enjoyed my 500 level constitutional law course, that one sticks with me. Overall- I'd never go back to this school. Had better learning experiences at UNC in Greeley, and even Front Range & Aims CC's. Do some heavy research before applying. In the long run, the school doesn't matter too much - it's what you take away from it. CSU will give you a degree, but it's with a price. Would not recommend for non-traditional, out-of-state, or transfer students. read more

Ahh... CSU. What can I say? A large, fun campus in a great town... BUT! When it comes down to it, they are the step child when it comes to Colorado universities. I am no a CU Boulder fan, but they have a much better school. Outside of Colorado, a bachelors degree from CSU is not worth that much. I'm heading into my last semester of my online MBA program and have had nothing but good things to say about CSU (even the football team is doing well this year). The professors (for the most part) have been excellent and willing to deal with situations that come up during each semester. I was originally scheduled to graduate in May 2014, but had to postpone one semester, which pushed me back to May 2015, but they were more than willing to assist me with this and took of me during the transition. They provide an excellent way to view class lectures through RAMCT (blackboard online) and is not usually an issue to watch, unless you have a lack of internet resources. I've become a big follower of the sports programs and will continue to after I graduate in May. I'm glad I picked this school, as they also picked me to become a student. As a Veteran, they have additional resources for Veterans that come to the school and even give discounts for Veterans and Active Duty Military, which is a real benefit to those that have to pay their own way through school. I really liked the two years that I went to school here. The campus is nice and big with plenty of things to do! Many benefits for the alumni too! I love the library here too! I do got one gripe though and that is with the Liberal Arts section of CSU. My area was in Liberal Arts, specifically Sociology and Anthropology. I obviously had to take other classes besides those two field areas and that led me to pick some History classes. First of all in my academic career I felt like I got the shaft on having a diverse history on the world. Nearly all the history classes I took were history on the USA. Granted that is an important history but every freakin' class seemed to be on that. No world history or anything. Most of this is attributed to lack of selection of History classes both at Front Range Community College and at CSU. Anyway the history classes I did take at CSU(Yawn, USA yet again) the History instructors seem to act like they had a vendetta against the Sociology department and made small but noticeable negative comments about the discipline? Why? The only people that suffers from this are the students by making such comments and many of them are just taking history classes to for class filler on their credits. Are there a smaller amount of History majors than Sociology majors therefore Sociology gets more money from the college? Whatever it is, it is petty, internal politcs,and bureaucracy at work here I am sure. History department, grow the hell up! read more

Online program is a rip off! Onboarding is horrible. No one will walk you trough the portal and as soon as you pay them - you are 100% on your own figuring out what to do. My counselor quit few days prior to me starting and the new one didn't even bother asking if I need help. (Many reviewers here had shared the same feedback) Most students copy/paste straight from the internet and no one gives a damn! How are they getting their accreditation? Pound for pound---CSU is tops in the nation when you consider a couple of things...price, research oriented uni, rivers, weather, parks, BEER mecca, bike culture, ski/snowboard access (backcounty too), AND it's the music hub of Colorado,---overall it's a great jumping off point to the West while you get a great education. While you're getting your degree you have access to a GREAT university Career Center to help you with job search and the center brings lots of opportunity to campus in finding your career fit AND job! This school does not care about their students. They could not provide enough dorms for the incoming freshmen so put them in a trashy hotel complex in the sketchy area of downtown. Then randomly decided to kick those freshmen out of the hotel and force them to find their own living situation so they could remodel the hotel into a "true" dorm. When most leases in town don't accept or start in the middle of the year. They also don't provide enough parking for students then make students pay unreasonable prices to park anywhere near the campus. The student employees get paid terrible. All of the professors just play you tube videos or you pay a thousand dollars to get a 21 year old grad student. They don't offer the first year math classes in person and have a high failing rate. CSU also makes it impossible to switch to a business major. They like to make things difficult for no reason. Requiring unreasonable prerequisites or having a recitation that you don't get any credits for. You are way better off taking some classes at front range because they are more affordable, they have a reasonable parking situation , and the classes are NOT made difficult by recitation or prerequisites. Most of the buildings are extremely outdated. If someone spent more than 2 hours in the Clark bathrooms in the winter they would freeze to death. One of my classrooms in Glover was infested with wasps!! The CSU health center will be the biggest waste of your time. Every time I have visited the health center I spend two hours waiting before being seen just for them to only test you for covid and strep, possibly mono no matter what your symptoms are. If you are genuinely sick or hurt go ANYWHERE ELSE! Upon touring CSU they are supposed to be inclusive and taking care of students. It's all just show. The only places on campus that are diverse are the places they take you in the tour. Of course the front desk of the LSC is ran entirely by people of color, yet you don't see that same diversity in other settings on campus...... They force you to have a meal plan but offer only one or two different meal choices for the whole year for people with food allergies. Any chance this school has to rob you of your money and time , they sure will. read more

I loved this place. One may claim that I have no basis for comparison, as I spent the whole of my higher education years here (with the exception of one summer school class), but really, hearing my other friends talk about their college experiences, I feel like mine kicked so much ass. Being an out of state student, I was required to live in the dorm my first year. And I say hooray to that. My friends that were not required to live in dorms their first year of college at other schools do not seem to have the same sense of loyalty to their schools that I do to CSU. I met a ton of people that I would not have otherwise, and that had a huge impact on my life. I learned a lot about myself being put into a situation where I knew absolutely no one and was then forced to come out of my shell a little bit in order to get some social contact. I grew a LOT because of my experience in the dorms. I studied Wildlife Biology and Zoology. I found the course work challenging and purposeful. I was headed on a life course to work with wild animals and perhaps be a zoo keeper. I would have been well prepared for that line of work had I not chosen a different route. The campus is beautiful, especially the Oval. So green and pretty in the spring, and it was fabulous covered in snow, too. The backdrop of the Rockies was always great, too. The only real beef I have the with whole place was that when I was there, there was NOT enough parking. Hopefully that got taken care of after I graduated. But still not enough to detract from my incredibly fond memories of the place. I would highly recommend going here! read more

It's a bargin for the quality of the education that you recieve at this institution. The institution used the nation wide recession as a time to build and improve multiple facitlies. According to what I've read that is because construction costs were siginficantly lower than previously. Way to go out and get good bang for your buck CSU! read more

Really cool vibe...I love all the bikes...I know I know, it's Fort Collins. But still, everyone is pedaling everywhere. The Subway on campus is super cheap. The campus is well maintained and clean. There is construction going on right now so keep that in mind if you are visiting for a any events or concerts. Overall, a real nice place. read more

I like the school in general but parking is a pain in the ass. I have gotten at least 5 parking tickets for the past two years I have been here and mostly because of some stupid reasons like, the dorms and Aggie Village Apartments don't have visitor parking. They also charge $45 per ticket which is ridiculous. I will not donate to this school because I have donated enough through parking tickets. read more
