Just found out my kid fell off the playground equipment hit their head on the hard ground and they told my kid that they called me but they didn't call me or the other parent. This is negligence and this is dangerous to kids. So not only does New vision teach information that is blatantly wrong, for example where certain bones are in the body, they allow kids to get injured on the playground and don't notify the parents. Do yourself a favor, stay away from this school they make promises that they've never been able to keep, they teach kids information that is wrong, and they don't care about the safety of the kids. read more

I have three kids and we moved to Northern Colorado several years ago from out of state. We stumbled upon New Vision when asking our neighbors the reputation of area schools. They immediately said New Vision Charter School was the best in town. After having our students attend the school since 2017, I could not be happier with it. The administration, teachers and facilities are top notch. Our kids are thriving both academically and socially. The admin and teachers do have high expectations compared to other schools so if a student doesn't want to put in the work, they may struggle and his/her parents may complain. My oldest son is now in high school and he has mentioned several times how well prepared he is for school because of his previous experience at NVCS. Our family feels blessed to be part of Nighthawk Nation. read more

Upper Elementary very poorly managed. Staff shortages effect students in a negative way. So unfortunate because the K-3 campus is top notch

We have been at NVCS for 4 years and it is unbelievable how much this school has gone down hill. Short staffing has really effected the school, specifically the 4-8 campus. Untrained, uneducated staff are working with children with little to no training in positive guidance, de-escalation techniques, or classroom management and it shows. There is only 1 counselor available for a school of 600+ pre-teen students. So if your child has any disabilities, mental illness, or just doesn't fit into the typical "box" do not make your child suffer through this school. Expectations and consequences for students vary depending on who their parents are. There is very little resources for any students who have any differences at all and the staff are unwilling to comply with IEP or 504 plans. Bullying has also been a HUGE problem this year at both campuses and very little gets done about it, unless you get the Loveland PD involved. I will say we had a much better experience with the K-3 campus and staff, but overall I am very disappointed with the education and treatment my children have received at this school. read more

My family has been with NVCS since it first opened 10 years ago! We have been very happy with the education our 3 children have received. The Core Knowledge curriculum has really exposed them to a lot of content on world history, art, music, and literature that I don't think they would have learned at a typical elementary/middle school. We love the Spanish instruction starting in Kindergarten, the technology classes, and the strong focus on literacy and math. My oldest son was well prepared for high school, posting a 3.9 GPA in mostly pre-AP classes. We also like the smaller school environment. You really do feel like part of a family where most of the teachers, parents, and other students know and support your kids. There are many ways that I can volunteer to improve the school and enhance my kids' experience. Overall, NVCS has been an amazing place for my kids to grow their character, social skills and commitment to their community. I always recommend NVCS to friends with elementary and middle school aged children! read more

The bully mentality is alive and well. Children of the staff are untouchable. My child was actually jumped on the playground, by 4 children of the PTO and staff. I had to threaten contacting police in order to get the principal to take action. The other parents formed a committee. There is a child with a groping problem, but due to his excellent math skills, he is not reprimanded for inappropriate behavior. I don't want to see what happens when the little predator-in-training hits high school. The good teachers have all gone on to better opportunities, while this school is left with the bottom of the barrel in every way. I was shocked to find that not only are these teachers not licensed, but none of them are drug tested, and I have my doubts about how they are hired. We pulled our child out of this school, after waiting for years to get in, if that tells you anything. Our child went in at an above grade reading level, and left 4 years later at the same exact level. They use core-curriculum, which, sells well but does not actually work. It does take all of the pressure off of the teacher having to actually do anything, however. If you have any concerns about the safety, welfare, and education of your child, you may want to consider any other school in a 60 mile radius. The only reason I rate this institution at 1 star, is because it will not let me rate a negative. read more

We chose NVCS over district schools for the last 8 years. NVCS has the #1 middle school in TSD. NVCS is knocking it out of the park! Every school has problems and at a charter school like NVCS we can address those problems head on to solve them. Things are great now and I expect they will only get better. read more

I was thought that school was a happy place where curiosity was developed among children. But not in our case, this school was a perfect description of verbal and emotional abuse that came from school, staff and students. The school created such an unpleasant environment for both of us. The things that they have done continued to be a nightmare for us. They did so much damage to our family, that I could not wait when this year would be over and we could move on to a new school, far away from their dysfunctional environment. This is what they do. They find a child that may be not confident, may be from a low-income household, may be a single parent household, may be African-American descend (FYI: there are no black kids there), and they start picking at him/her until they are mentally/psychologically/emotionally broken. Please do not take away your child's happiness and desire for learning, curiosity, love, peace and balance. Please be your kids' advocate, and follow your intuition. read more

In addition to the excellent education my two boys are receiving at New Vision they also have an amazing and support team of staff. Recently one of my son's began struggling quite a bit (including bullying issues) and we instantly had a "team" of staff that stepped up to help him get through each day of school. Its a priceless thing for a Mom to know that when she is at work there are wonderful school employees that are also doing a great job with her children!! read more
