I went to school there in the 90s and then again 10 years ago. My son was there 2 years ago. And my daughter has been going for the last year. All of our experiences have been positive. It was easy to register and enroll for classes. Cost is much less than a 4 year college. Teachers and professors have all been great. The campus is beautiful and clean. Lots of student clubs to get involved in. Classes transferred easily for me over to CSU when i did that. We all had fantastic experiences with front range. read more

Had the misfortune of interacting with Sarah Hunnell yesterday through e-mail, as I had a few questions about the massage program. I simply asked how much the program was & if I could get the certification after attending these classes. I was chastised by her and asked if in the future, I could "compose a more formally-written email, especially given that we have not met." Lol. Ahhh, the irony. I am a 46 year-old with a Master's degree in English, who used to teach college. I do NOT need to be shamed or condescended to about the composition structure of my emails. I also don't think that is a great way to recruit students. I actually almost died several months ago from living in black mold, so I am struggling with chronic health & neurocognitive issues. I am tired & don't feel well. And I am tired of trying to reach a damn human being at these colleges, It's a mess. So, Ms. Hunnell, I hope that makes you feel better, acting like a miserable twa* to total strangers! :) Your sad attempt at snootiness & condescension only reveal what an unhappy person you are. read more

This college lacks inclusivity. Staff lacks sincere professionalism and accountability. The student experience is poor. Needs major improvements. You are told you have a voice, but please do not believe everything you are told. I would not recommend this college for your best interest, coming from a current student of several years. "DOCTOR" AS HE DEMANDS TO BE CALLED! William Tankovich, Ph.D. Assistant Director, Learning Technology at Front Range Community College Fort Collins, Colorado. A particularly nasty piece of work that is apparently incapable of doing his job without being forced into it, he CANNOT complete the simplest of student assistance without being an arrogant, condescending, bully. His latest educational triumph was to send an older freshman female,53, student home in tears after begrudgingly helping her through a simple class roster change (same class different teacher). This "nearly impossible feat of Information Technology that could have crashed the whole system" he said, carried a cost to the student: of being belittled, degraded and finally discouraged by the parting advice of the "DOCTOR" "it's too late, you'll never catch up." He was later asked for a written apology via email for his atrocious behavior. He refused, I assume as not to have any written evidence of the reprehensible exchange. In my experience with multiple campuses of Front Range Community College over many classes, this is not an organization that appreciates its students very much. There are many unnecessary administrative roadblocks that greatly hinder timely student progress (problems that cause elongated years of attendance), abusive overreaching academic staff (forced political views by instructors, body shaming, yelling at students) and frontline student services staff that are undertrained and have no real power to affect changes to small things like schedules, proper class descriptions, or accurate financing, accounting, and billing. Clearly, the leadership has forgotten that we are not only students at FRCC, but we are also their CUSTOMERS; after all, WE definitely pay to be here. As a final thought, the interaction with the snarky "DOCTOR" was the inspiration that encouraged me to write this review. To that end, Do's and don'ts for all FRCC campuses and personal: Don't trust any staff until they have earned it, don't expect any respect from the staff until you have earned it, do make sure all of your affairs (financial, classes, rules of conduct, etc...) are well in hand because this is no place for a beginner, if you don't watch out you are going to waste a lot of money or worse yet you'll be in huge debt with absolutely nothing to show for it. read more

When I went here I was flooded in prerequisites that my high school apparently failed to teach me so I could not get right into English and Math courses that transferred or were even on a college level for quite some time. It is nice they do offer these classes though so you can get yourself where you need to be. This college works closely with CSU(Colorado State University) and many of the college required classes that CSU wants you to complete to get a degree can be done here. So if you need some one on one attention or a smaller classroom setting this college is ideal. I noticed since I went to school here that the Larimer campus has grown considerably and after picking up a list of courses announced for each semester the list of what is offered here has grown and diversified considerably. Front Range I have fond memories of and I spent many many hours here at the Larimer campus writing papers. In the end I was ready to go to the big university. One thing that was a pain for me going here was their tuition. For many semesters I paid out of state tuition which was high. I jumped through the hoops and cut through the red tape to become a resident when many other institutions and the government would have considered me a resident long ago. I eventually did get approved which was an ordeal promptly before they raised the age limit as to when you could file for in state tuition. Despite that I have fond memories of FRCC but I am glad the college years are past me so I could move on with my life. read more

What was the point of an AAS? I already got an AGS and I busted my ass to try to get an AAS my last semester just to get 2 d's in those required classes to get an AAS? You're kidding me, my view on conceptual physics is beyond yours and so is my thoughts on coms and teamwork(i'm former military). Half of these classes are of no use, and the ones that were, such as English Comp. II, easily got a B. That's life for me, I've never gotten along with non-essential classes as they attempt to shove crap down my throat. While relevant basic material is simple garbage in garbage out, these other classes such as Espanol - just learn on your own and download software. The only thing you need in life is soft skills, work skills, and general knowledge of how the world/english/west works. FRCC - you really screwed me over. At least I used my GI bill to get into welding. I am the greatest generation. My high school teachers will always be more inspirational than any college clown. It really is a circus out there - just go to CSU or some other university - it's a circus. Get something useful - a welding degree is a great start for me. All this wasting time just to finally find something I'm more passionate about - welding. The welding community is great at FRCC, but that doesn't take away how much of(about half) a waste of my time(which is money) was. I can only pray they can help land me into a great welding career, but it shouldn't be too hard, even on my own. It's a great trade/skill to have. I mean, I could have taken these useless classes while in the military, IF, I knew I needed them. We can't predict the future, but when I'm stressing with the rental, the car, money in general, school assignments and a team I was setup with that essentially failed me in MTE110 with Joyce. Good luck students, but first, don't let them waste your time and money, discover what you are passionate about. There are other places I could have got into welding at, but FRCC was right where I was from, near my dad in CO. Things don't always workout, it's up to the individual student to make a stand in what fuels their education and what should be done to benefit their time at school..like passing with a C or better where you busted your butt. read more

Took online classes this semester, as it was advertised as "convenient for working people and parents, etc..." Nothing convenient about it. Overly complex submission rules (had one teacher post four links for one assignment, while then stating that there were more instructions we had to look for. Overly elementary subject matter. Lost internet for 5 days. Came back to find out that I missed 2 quizzes and all of my participation points for the duration. They require you to participate in online discussions between 3-5 days a week. Worst money I ever wasted. Want to gamble with your future? Try Blackhawk! My daughter signed up for an online class, dropped it before the deadline for getting charged but kept receiving bills. Tried to work with the administration but they kept ignoring calls. When they did finally call, the individual we tried to work with was rude and condescending. Now they are trying to get even more than the dropped class fee. Be advised that they are not willing to work with students and are just out to get the check. read more

Front Range was such an educational and helpful place to get courses done for cheap. The professors actually care about there students, if a student gets sick or has issues the professors are super understanding and helpful. The campus is beautiful and clean, the art classes are super wonderful and interesting and give students nice equipment to use. I love front range and you will too. read more

Lots of different subjects to explore. The faculty all over campus pride themselves in helping students learn the subject matter to a deep understanding. Plus, there is a lot of student clubs to get involved in. read more

Great Selection and location. Only wish I didn't have a two hour limit on computers when plenty of computers were available.

I have been a student at FRCC for a year now, and have three semesters left. I could have been done sooner, but decided to take a few classes that I didn't need just because they sounded interesting. Luckily, with the affordable tuition, I was able to take some classes that don't count toward my degree. College can be tough, and everyone will have some issues based on their skills and personal situations, but I feel that Front Range has been a wonderful school and I recommend it to everyone! read more

This science department at the FRCC Larimer campus is stellar. It actually prepared me for a masters program. Lots of honors opportunities. Beautiful facility, absolutely INCREDIBLE professors who excel at lecturing and will devote time and creativity to aiding their students in success. They've got a really special science department. I am so impressed, it's just an amazing school. I can't believe I was able to get that kind of quality education for such an affordable price. read more

I have been at Front Range for 2 years now and I absolutely love everything about it! The faculty here is great, not to mention that the support we receive is phenomenal. I will be graduating in May with an A.A. in Psychology and although I will miss FRCC, I will always be very fond of this place. I enrolled right after I graduated high school and let me tell ya... this is the place to be! read more
