I went here yesterday with an old friend to spend some time before I move states and it was the perfect thing to do. If you are a artsy or crafty person you would love it. It is very calm and private inside this shop! We had gone at a time that was less busy and we were able to get straight to the point. They have so many pieces to choose from to paint. They offer several colors and tools to create your vision. I would recommend planning before coming as the pieces you paint are left at the shop for 5-7 days to be glazed and finished. I really enjoyed my time at Color Me Mine. I have never been to a paint your own pottery place and wanted to check this out for something different to do while my mom was in town. I was easily able to make a reservation through their website for an $8 studio fee. This held my reservation and was removed from the bill at checkout. Upon arrival, we picked out our pottery. Each piece was individually priced. Most ranged from $30-$50. After picking out your piece, you'll select from multiple paint options. They give you selections of various brushes and other items to help design your piece. It takes after you do it get finished. I'm excited to see what my piece looks like after picking it up!! read more

Went here in October for a family Girl's Day Out and it was a lot of fun! I had a hard time picking what I wanted to paint because there were so many cool option, but I ended up painting a mug/ice cream cup. I thought it turned out great and I was able to see what everyone else painted and those came out wonderfully as well! I was a bit disappointed about the size of the place as it did feel cramped because of the location; the one in Crystal Lake is much bigger and has a private party room away from everyone else. But, it's still a nice place regardless and the girls working there were really sweet and nice! read more

Cute place to take the kiddos. It is a small location. We did get a bit flustered at first trying to pick a piece because there were so many options (that's a good problem) but also because the tables where were people were at are so close to the area where you chose your piece. Smaller tables would help w the congestion. Once we got painting it was fun. The staff was attentive & polite. I would suggest to management to monitor the temperature in the place. When were there I counted 25 people and it was warm out and the temperature in the place was set to 77. We'll see how the pieces come out when I pick them up! read more

Last November, purchased about 10 pieces and various paint vials to conduct a private party at a home, total cost was several hundred dollars. It required multiple trips to the store. On more than one occasion, the owner Johanna was rude to the extent I ended going to the Burr Ridge location to acquire additional paint to minimize my interaction. On one trip even my sister asked her if she had a bad day and she said she was tired from a party from the night before, but her attitude was an issue on multiple days. Her employees, Shea and Diego were great to work with. I will also say the pieces came out beautiful and in a timely manner. read more

After she selected her piece and sat down to paint I couldn't resist joining in on the fun. I don't knit that much, but was drawn to the beautiful design on the yarn bowl. My daughter had her first visit the week before Christmas. She went w/her Girl Scout group. A bunch of crazy, energetic, excited girls. The staff was amazingly patient. A couple of us moms went back w/our daughters after the New Year. What fun! I think the adults needed more help than the girls. The 2 teenage girls on staff were so helpful and amazing! My friend and I didn't finish and they told us we could come back and finish our projects at no extra charge. I will definitely be back a bunch more times. If I can give this location zero stars I would. Went in to get a gift card and had a coupon that was sent for $5 off $25 and I was going to get a gift card for Christmas. The women told me she can't do that and I said why is that not listed then all the other coupons in the book had that. They were all for the streets of Woodfield. I asked to speak to a manager and she said I'm the owner. Her and the other women proceeded to tell me it's only on bisque items (I guess the items you paint) and how they opened in July and are trying to keep afloat. All I have to say is that's not a way to do business by misleading advertising and then not honor it and have a terrible attitude and yell at someone. I said no problem I'll go to another location and walked out and I went to the Geneva location a week and a half ago and it was great!! Which is why I wanted a gift card because I live in the area but I'll never go to this location again. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND OWNER! An update to my review after the owners comment below. What an insincere apology after the attitude I was given and her literally yelling at me. What kind of customer service is that? Yell at a customer now make it look like you are trying. Also I think it's funny how I was the first to review this store since it has opened and 2 days later there's a 5 star review. Seems a bit strange to me. However anyone that goes to this location I would be cautious about how rude the owner and associates are. I would not give this owner my business even if they gave me items for free at this point. The owner was there and she was very helpful in guiding me with my design, giving me ideas and showing me technique examples.
