Colonial vet has always been our choice because of the extremely high level of care they showed us and how conservative and reasonable their prices are.

My cat went in on Wednesday ( mind you they only had one vet checking in on pets all week and saw a vet that wasn't hers Dr. DeWitt ) as she was throwing up blood. He sent her home that everything "was fine", his staff informed me he took a single radiograph, said she was just backed up, drained her poop and gave her a shot for nausea and sent her home. She seemed ok when I picked her up, just looked like she was sleepy. And sent me on my way with a $450 bill. Thursday morning, my cat still doesn't want to eat, but I now noticed she looks more sick and very limp. I rush her back to Williamsburg vet. They take her back and then say "She looks extremely sick, If I thought she was sick enough I would send her to the ER. But we aren't there yet. I will put her on IV, run a blood panel, give her a nausea shot and monitor her for the day. We will leave a needle wrapped on her paw bring her back tomorrow morning (Friday ) so we can give her more fluids in the morning". I pick her up at 5:30 they say she's good to make sure she doesn't throw up. And proceeded to send me on my way with a $400 bill. Friday morning, I take her in and she is drooling, still won't eat and is very lethargic. They say she's needs more fluids. I Google and find out about an appetite stimulant. I ask them about it and he says "yea that's a great option we can look into" my cat stays for the entire day. I pick her up and a $250 bill. My cat is drooling, and still very tired still. The dr informed me as long as she doesn't throw up over the weekend she will be fine even if she decides to not eat all weekend. That she has enough fluids in her to last until Monday. This afternoon, my cat falls over and stops breathing. I rush her to the ER, and come to find out my cat should have never been sent home in the first place and is and has been in critical condition! I'm extremely upset and have lost all faith and trust in Williamsburg Vet Clinic! My dog gets seen there and we will be switching immediately. Sorry for the long post. But when my pets are neglected due to possibly understaffing. It's hard to stay quiet, and my heart is completely shattered!

They were so informative, BEYOND attentive, they loved my girl just as much as I do, and they kept me up to date through surgery, after surgery, they even checked in on us multiple times making sure all was well with Allie, and that she was healing great! We are very grateful for this clinic, and everyone who has been a light for Allie and I, and even our entire family! When I first came in I had a baby strapped to my chest, and two other children ( their dad was working, so mom was playing super mom) and they opened all of us with open arms, and made things just so seamless for us! I did not meet a single person who did not show us the absolute most compassion and love! I've never found a single place on earth where I had zero negetive things to say, but they went so above and beyond!

He had this little mass that had grown inbetween his toe beans(rather quickly) and it randomly started bleeding out of no where. Not just a little, but pooling blood. We tried to stop it ourselves. I called Coastal and they said we can bring him in. It had stopped bleeding by the time we got there, and all we got was a cone, some medication and were told to follow up with our vet. Which I told the Dr that we didn't have a vet here... we just moved. 2 days prior. We don't even have anything to sit on in our home still. We couldn't bring him back for a check up. They wouldn't remove it either. So we went back home. At some point on the way home it opened again. When we got back home(mind you, we're already 45min to an hour away) I opened the back door to get him and there was blood everywhere. We ran inside and placed him in the tub and tried to get the bleeding to stop. It would not stop this time. We called them back and they said to come back. We got back there and I guess because he was actively bleeding, or the bloody towel we had wrapped around his paw, they took him overnight for surgery. That was irritating. I wish they would have helped us the first time we were there. The staff was amazing. I loved them. They treated my old man very very well. They were very kind and answered all the questions we had. The only thing that I wish would have happened was being kept in contact. They called me the following morning to tell us that he was going to go into surgery around noon, but someone would call us before he went into surgery, after surgery, and then again to call us to let us know when we could come and get us. That didn't happen. Again, we JUST moved into our home so we didn't get a lot done because we were waiting on them. Which is fine, but I had to call around noon, he hadn't gone into surgery yet. I called around 3/4pm, he was about to go into surgery and they were thinking about pick up time around 8:30-9pm, but they'd call back to confirm. I had to call back around 745 and they confirmed to come and get him between 8:30-9pm.

Outstanding Care and Compassion…read more I can't say enough wonderful things about CARE Emergency Vet in Williamsburg. They were absolutely phenomenal from start to finish and took such incredible care of my sweet Lulu during a very scary time. The staff was kind, patient, and compassionate and not just with Lulu, but with me as well. They explained everything clearly, treated Lulu as if she were their own, and made sure she was comfortable and cared for every step of the way. Dr. Moin was truly a godsend and very thorough. I truly felt like she was in the best possible hands. Emergency visits are always stressful, but their professionalism and warmth made all the difference. I'm so thankful for their quick action, expertise, and genuine love for animals. Williamsburg is lucky to have a place like CARE. Highly recommend to anyone needing emergency veterinary care -- they are simply the best. Especially Dr. Moin!!

Instructions were to bring him back the next morning for X-rays if he wasn't able to keep anything down. He didn't keep it down and when we called at opening the next morning we were told to take him to an emergency clinic because there were no doctors on staff that day. No referrals given, and no attempt to reach out to another VCA facility. No vet will take us because they're not taking new clients so we're taking him to an emergency hospital being that it's a Friday now. We have already made arrangements to transfer his care to a different vet going forward as this is unacceptable.

My cat was showing signs of improvement within 12 hours of being seen at VCA and by a week later, was still improving in leaps and bounds (literally). The receptionist picked up and was able to immediately schedule a check up at 9:15AM the same day. Once we arrived, we were promptly seen by Dr. Bates within 5-10 minutes. He and the staff clearly know how to deal with distraught, uneasy animals. He checked out my cat for any issues and sent us home with some medication and peace of mind! We are grateful the clinic could take us on short notice and ensure our cat didn't pick up any major illness/bugs during her outdoor escape. It wasn't a cheap vet visit, but it was absolute worth it. Our cat has also been seen by Dr. Bates for vaccinations and fleas within the past few years - both of those visits were great experiences as well!
