Lauren helped me store my documents (100+ years old) in a more appropriate fashion, she truly wanted to make sure my items were cared for. While I did not choose them for my project, I can tell you they will treat you and your property with care and respect. while no one wants to be the second choice, the fact they made it on the list as a strong possibility for my documents is not a small feat. I was fully prepared to go out of State. Give them a chance, I do not think they will disappoint.

This large antique had been handed down through the generations in my family and was a pair of paintings. The frame, which was wood and plaster, broke as did all of the intricate hand made small and tiny leaves that embellished the frame. I was heartbroken. My framer gave me the name of Jill Whitten at Whitten and Proctor. I took the frame there and they said that they could put it back together and recast all of the leaves and delicate features. I knew it would be a painstaking and costly job because of the labor and details involved, but I had to get it fixed for posterity. Jill and her expert team did a fabulous job and restored it to about 95% of what the original looked like. W&P is a fantastic place for those impossible art restoration/repair dilemmas.

We gave them 11 rugs, some curtains, and other things that were damp in our home from a leak in order to restore them. After 3 months of calling them for the return of our items along with a couple of promised but missed appts by them, they finally brought some of our stuff back. Every single rug was damaged or destroyed by them. They admitted to destroying a couple of them but brought the rest of them back in shambles. Most if not all were completely faded and in considerably worse shape than when they left our home. Others had strings coming off of them and frayed endings, while others had holes in them. Another rug had dirt and grass on it somehow when it was unrolled. These were very expensive imported hand crafted rugs that they completely ruined. They are no longer usable. They are now expecting us to pay them for ruining our items and are keeping our rugs as well. Oh and they didn't even bother to show up with the curtains or other items, saying "they are running behind." What does that even mean? That our items are just sitting in a warehouse not being cleaned??? This is the absolute worst company I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with and hope that you take my warning seriously. If you don't want your items destroyed, don't want to be talked to like you're a child or a burden to them, and don't want a huge mess at the end of your already messy situation with the repair of your home, then I would steer clear of this organization. I want to share the amazing experience I had with Lauren at Bradley's Art & Frame yesterday. I had…read morepurchased Kinkaide's Holiday Gathering and it arrived with a black speck on the lining. I called ParkWest and they offered 1) to have me send the painting back to be reframed, or 2) take it to a local framer and they would send them a replacement liner. I opted for option #2 and took it to Bradley's, the only framer I would consider for this special work of art. Lauren inspected the defect and determined that the speck could be easily removed without having to replace it. Out came her razor as she delicately flicked at the spot and removed it without any damage to the lining. No charge. Not only does Bradley's do excellent framing work but they are very, very kind.

The piece was damaged And perimeter restored it to next to original condition. Given that it was clay pottery Aubry's insistence on excellence is what restore the peace to the point that if you inspect it currently you would be quite skilled if you could find where the flaws had been that he repaired. Secondly, he seems to have inside and apparently himself collects very nice pieces, and I acquired from him a Gorman, which he then matted and framed and did an incredible job, simply incredible and enhanced the visual presentation of the peace. Lastly, he's in the process of putting back together a Fish kill from the green river, which was literally in hundreds of pieces that is a project in process right now and I'm awaiting the results in any case I would highly highly recommend this GALLERY both for batting and framing perhaps for acquisition of pieces and clearly for repair of pieces to museum quality

For 16 years Colonial Brass has been helping me with the "treasures" I bring home from my travels. Like a magpie, shiny metal objects seem to attract my eye and demand to go live in my house. Then they tarnish. Before a friend told me about this company, the big brass trays, coffeepots and copper casseroles laughed at my feeble attempts to polish them and ended up languishing in a closet. No more. Now they go to Colonial Brass. These folks know metal. They can tell you interesting stuff about how your piece was made. But the best part is they will polish your item beautifully for a very reasonable price. They will also coat the piece so that it won't tarnish for 20 years--honest! Nothing is too small or too large or too intricate. Right now they have a coffee table of mine that was an old Arab copper- and brass-inlaid door. I can hardly wait to get it home! read more

Yesterday I had a contractor arrive at 8AM to refinish my front double doors. I was unable to find matching brass fixtures so I planned to clean them the best I could. The contractor told me about Colonial Brass so I called them told them what I had and they said bring it and they would make it new. They admitted that new replacements would cost about the same ($225) but I had no previous luck finding anything. I appreciate honesty. They were done on time and they look beautiful on the newly refinished door. It was a drive from Pearland and back in Friday rush hour traffic but worth it. Now we have beautiful doors and fixtures. When you need specialty metal work this is the place. Great prices and excellent work in a quick and timely manner. They take every effort into making a big or small project perfect every time. Door Handles, .. Lamps, .. Silverware, .. EVERY piece brought becomes a work of art .. almost to a point where it is hard to put them back in to service!! Our door hardware was done so well .. I strongly recommend their service on copper and brass items. After putting our house on the market, a copper sconce beside my front door became damaged. Colonial was able to come to my home, remove the sconce, repair the damage, return the sconce and install it in 2 days. Their work was excellent and their prices were reasonable. My wife took a bunch of tarnished silver to Colonial Brass. She said they would polish it and coat it so it would look nice and stay that way. When she brought it home, I first saw a champagne bucket gleaming like a thousand suns were shining on it. My first thought was, Holy smoke, do they do cars? Imagine my surprise. Colonial brass took my old brass chandelier and turned it to oil rubbed bronze ! It took them less than one week and the chandelier is gorgeous !!! I have lots of brass to be polished, lots of brass to be turned to oil rubbed bronze and silver that needs polishing and plating. I'll be going back often -my new best friends !!! I bought an expensive sofa at Roche Bobois about 10 years ago (I would advise you not to buy there…read more- see my Yelp review). About 3 years of gentle use by two adults without children or pets, it looked terrible. I spent 6, yes, 6 years looking for an upholsterer who could recover it for me. My sofa, apparently, had a lot of details that were difficult to replicate. I had all but given up when I happened to find the Upholstery Shop on Yelp. I texted a photo of my sofa to them. I quickly got a response from Chelsea, who is terrific! We discussed those specific features, fabrics, timing, etc. Within a few days, I went to the shop to see some of their fabrics and get more of my questions answered. I received my fabric in a couple of days and then arranged delivery of the sofa to their shop. (This is the only negative thing I'll say about The Upholstery Shop, they do not provide pickup and delivery, you have to do that independently and it costs a lot! I live 9 miles from the store and do not have stairs or anything complicated and it cost $185 + tips each way. Other upholsterers I talked to charged as little as $75/each way). Anyway, my project was completed by Mario, the lead upholsterer. He did a fantastic job! He was able to retain all of the fancy details except for one, due to equipment limitations and I was OK with the option he could provide. He actually explained the structural issues that made the sofa so uncomfortable and how he could fix them. Chelsea is a total rock star and kept me in the loop throughout. I really appreciated her calming nature :) Two weeks later, my sofa was finished and it looks (and feels) fantastic. It was expensive; their base price is pretty reasonable, but those darn details were pricey to replicate. I was just thrilled to find someone skilled enough to do the job. Strong recommend and I've already got one or two more things I'll eventually get re-done,

I just bought my first home. It is a fixer upper, in a blue collar neighborhood, and I am quite a conservative saver. However, when we got to the actual measurements, he started drawing up these elaborate plans of changing the kitchen, and never really talked about just replacing the counter tops. More importantly, never asked me what I was interested in doing. Proceeded to answer his phone from the office and talk about the left over pieces from doing Kate Spade's store floors, on speaker phone. At this point, I was ready for him to finish and leave, because I was very well put in "my place" of out of this league. When I asked about slate (hey, I'm cheap!) he avoided talking about slate at all by saying "You wouldn't buy a KIA if you were planning to drive around a lot... white marble is what is really in right now." UUUUHHHH, did he not just park next to MY KIA in the driveway when he got here?!! All in all, I had a poor experience, and the quote came back at about 5 to 6 times the price of what others have quoted us. I am sure they do great work for million dollar homes, but I wish that they would have mentioned that's where they do their work on their website.

Truly they are nothing short of miracle workers!…read more I took them a few replacement dashboard panels I purchased for my Classic Aston Martin DB9 as they needed to be dyed the correct color and Luna nailed the correct color spot on! They even repaired a panel I was replacing (I thought it was beyond saving) and it's now perfect too (I could have saved some $ buying the replacement panel). I was so impressed by their work that I ended up taking them the whole car and they restored all the leather (seats & all) to better than new. They work on sofas, jackets, cars - if it's got leather they can make it beautiful again. And their fees are extremely reasonable- you can go elsewhere and spend a good deal more for good deal less - I've done it. Truly wonderful people to work with!
