The fender on my 20-year old Subaru was recently damaged and needed to be replaced. After looking at the reviews of several body shops (on Consumer CheckBook, Google and Yelp) I visited three of the highly rated shops in the Gaithersburg-Rockville area. After not hearing from one of the three shops, I settled on Top Gun because their estimate was significantly below the other one. I worked with Pablo, who is extremely friendly and easy to work with. I am extremely pleased with the repair, especially the perfect color matching - the paint on the new fender is indistinguishable from the old. I am also very happy with the ease of communication, and their frequent updates on the progress of the work. I had my twenty year old Toyota Highlander at Top Gun body shop in September after a collision with a Chevy truck, and was very pleased with the service and the work. Pablo, the manager, could not have been more cooperative with when we could bring the car in and when it would be ready. WARNING - I had my car repaired at this shop in JANUARY. The events to follow put me thousands of dollars in debt and set me back really far financially. THE WORK PERFORMED HERE IS BY NO MEANS COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY. I took my Subaru to this shop to have a cracked bumper repaired and they also replaced a dented intercooler pipe. I picked my car up and the turbo blew up less than 5 miles driving home from this shop. The shop towed the car back the following morning and replaced the turbo at my expense (parts and labor). I picked the car up again and drove the car less than 5 miles home and the BRAND NEW turbo that cost me over $1,000 blew up. A bolt or nut was dropped into the compressor side due to improper installation. The turbo chewed up the bolt/nut and sucked metal into my engine. I ended up taking my car to Andrewtech Automotive. They flushed the engine of the metal debris and installed yet another new turbo. They were able to fully repair my car but this cost me thousands more. The owner of Andrewtech Automotive even wrote an email to this shop regarding the state of the old turbo and the failure due to improper installation, in hopes of helping me receive some type of compensation. After months of e-mail exchanges they have stopped replying and made no effort to compensate me or resolve this issue. The shop emailed me this in March: "I understand your frustration. However, we are in talks with both the mechanic who installed it, our insurance company, and their insurance company. There are many parties involved at this point, and, unfortunately, it does take some time. We should have an answer for you shortly. Thank you for understanding" Their mistake could be your financial burden. read more

I had to take my car in for repairs after I hit a pole. The damages didn't look horrible, however lots of work had to be done as the clips were broken off the bumper and there was a small crack in the headlight among some other small parts. I went through my insurance company and they had recommended Collision Experts. I ended up working with Tripp as he kept me updated throughout the entire repair. They had my car for only a few days and it came back looking brand new! I couldn't be happier with the service as well as the great follow up provided. CONSUMERS BEWARE!!! I took my car here to have a new window and window motor installed.They released my car to me knowing full well the window still didn't go up all the way. So I took it back {had to leave it for the day} and they released it to me again. It worked for about a week and then I had to pull the window up with my hands in order for it to close, So, I took it back again on Tuesday and didn't get it back until Thursday { they had more excuses why they didn't get around to it on Tuesday}. Wednesday I had to go there to get something out of the trunk and noticed water streak marks on my drivers side leather seat and the floor next to in front of and behind the drivers seat were completely soaked. THEY HAD LEFT MY WINDOW DOWN AND MY CAR OUTSIDE WHEN IT RAINED TUESDAY AFTERNOON!!! I said something to Carter { the owner or manager or both} and he said he would clean it. When I finally picked up my car Thursday he told me they had taken care of the streaks and the water but he never did. I now doubt he even looked at it. Which tells me he does NOT care about peoples property. I just spent $3000.00 a few months ago replacing the convertible top, new leather on the seats { front and rear} and new carpet. If I could give this business negative stars I WOULD!! So, do yourself a favor and don't go through what I went through unless you like taking your car back to a place again and again or you want your property disrespected!!!!!!!!!!! In a jiffy, within five minutes, my car looks "new" again....out with polished fender no signs of any scratches or markings. I asked to pay for the fix, he said it was on the house. I found Collision Experts totally by accident, while standing in the parking lot of the auto body shop next door wondering where to go since they wouldn't give me an estimate without an appointment and were clearly too busy for me. I saw the sign for Collision Experts next door, did a quick internet search to make sure they looked OK, and got an immediate estimate (lowest of the competing estimates I got). They fit me in right away, were extremely friendly, and did beautiful work. Fast, friendly, and the right price - I'll definitely go back. I don't know why there were so many people at the place next door, and I hope I don't need much body work in the future, but this is my new shop if I should need anything. read more

My wife hit our Lexus against a lamp post in the parking lot of Federal Plaza shopping center, our auto insurance company (Erie) recommended Collision Experts (Rockville, MD) for the repair. I wasn't sure since there is a lot of bad body shops out there, so I did a online search for reviews of them. Turns out there was only one review and it was a negative one. The reviewer said they did a poor job on replacing a bad window motor; I asked myself whether that was a correct review posting for Collision Experts, since who would take a window motor repair to a body shop and not to a auto repair/service garage. Since there were no other reviews for me to check it out, and Erie said that they never had a complaint on them, so I took Erie's recommendation and took the Lexus there for repair. My initial impression of the Owner (Carter Petersen) was that he was very friendly, nice, and extremely knowledgable. He gave me a detailed quote that was lower than what I expected, I lefted my car there immediately for repair. Four working days later, the car was done. The original damage was at the rear door and part of the rear quarter panel, it was a tricky patching job, and I was amazed that they repaired to the point that it looked like the day I brought the car new. The patched area and the lines were perfectly done and the paint job (a three staged) blended in so well with rest of the car and I couldn't tell it was repainted. I am so satified with Collision Experts - they are the "EXPERTS"; they will be my only body shop from now on. ps: I have a classic show car that won 3rd place in the World of Wheels, so I am extremely picky on workmanship qualities. read more

THE BEST "FIXER UPPER" for my car! I had the exact opposite experience than the person with the window problem who posted in July 2011. Mr. Carter and his shop was suggested to me by uncle George who had taken his car to get fixed at the Collision experts and though it was far from my house I took my car some years ago and I was glad that I did! My car needed major fixing then and the owner Mr. Carter and his team took great care of this old car with 110 k miles and made her look and function as good as gold!
