There are constantly long queues at the checkout. Usually only one register is open with a huge line of people waiting. Sometimes there are two, but only when it's extremely busy. The staff often seem gloomy and unwelcoming, and the whole place looks messy and unpleasant. In general, Lidl seems to be getting worse and worse. Other supermarkets now have self-checkouts that also allow you to pay with cash, which makes life much easier. Here, you often can't do that, which is frustrating--especially when you want to send your child to buy something and give them cash. Honestly, I can't stand this store anymore--neither this one in Bray nor any other Lidl. The only reason I still end up here sometimes is because Aldi doesn't have the same bakery selection. If they did, my foot would never step inside any Lidl again.

This is a pretty decent Tesco. It's well stocked and well maintained…read more Inside there is a decent enough homeware section, a smallish clothes section, a butchers, fresh fish counter, bakery and decent off license. The fresh fruit and veg section is decent and management seem on top of making sure produce is fresh and not going mouldy which can sometimes be a problem is some Tescos. Decent fresh meat, dairy and the usual sections. This Tesco has proper Greek Total yoghurt too which is great. In the building there is also a dry cleaners, a hair dressers, a sports shop, a newsagents, an excellent family butchers, Des Doyle's and a pharmacy. Parking is free.

Jars of rocket pesto, packets of nuts, seeds and dried fruits, bottles of fine wine, sumptuous carrot cake and barrels of stuffed olives tempt the healthy palette. I bought a large packet of Kettle Chips (hand cooked potato chips with "absolutely nothing artificial") for €3.50. An expensive way to guiltlessly munch on crisps. My aunt and I split the beef casserole and the salmon (€11.95 each). All mains come with a fist-full of vegetarian pasta, beetroot and coleslaw. I also treated myself to a small tub of feta-stuffed olives. Yum! As we sat in the sunshine sipping our coffees (with soy milk if you please), we discussed the health benefits of tannins (any excuse for that caffeine hit or to uncork a nice bottle of red) and marvelled at the vibrant colours of the pansy violets that peered out at us from the cutest little flower pots.

Overall the atmosphere is relaxed, the surround inviting and there are lots of interesting pics to look at (and buy). Minus points for forgetting to deliver the coffees we ordered (the place wasn't busy!) but other than that a nice wee spot for a bite to eat.

The store was well laid out, bright, clean, organized and stocked will all the goods, fresh and packaged! We popped in after a few snacks to stock our nearby hotel room with and while we had a list of what we were after, I could not help but wander up and down each aisle. Always something new and exciting for me to waste time looking at...and I loved every minute of it! Service was friendly and helpful. Queues were moving quickly, always available staff on the aisles when needed. Only thing is they do not have a public restroom, so just in case you were in need during your trip in. Overall, solid shopping experience at my first Tesco!

As others saying - it's Tesco! You know what to expect. It's big, it's good, you can find almost…read moreeverything you need just in one place. There is few other shops like Argos, Vodafone, Boots. Anyhow, there is one thing which I really don't like - it is a very strong unpleasant smell of the fish counter. I don't know why, but it's really smells bad. Fresh fish NEVER should smell like this. And now with the dessert fridge located just besides the smelly counter I just don't care how good that cheesecake is, I won't go there.

Upon googling this on my ever useful smartphone we discovered that this was now the largest Tesco in Ireland. So on the way back to Dublin, we exited at junction 9, took the roundabout exit for Sallins and had a look. We needed to do a foodshop anyway. It is pretty impressive, lots of everything and as big as they say it is. It's also the only place where you can setup billed Tesco mobile phone accounts, according to their sales guy anyway. There are also a few other shops in the same complex like Argos, Vodafone, Boots and The Butchers Block. I can't really add much more than that, it's a Tesco. People know what to expect. Useful for when we are passing again.
