This has to be one of the most poorly run local governments in the country. I've had a permit for a…read moresimple job on my property tied up in the code and zoning department bureaucracy for the past month and a half, in spite of the fact that I've provided above and beyond the necessary documentation for the job. I've also heard about similar problems from other folks in the area. They enforce the local codes arbitrarily, and the staff is either lost or lacking in basic customer service. Their entire code enforcement division needs to clean house. I'm prepared to take my issue to the county commission for resolution. It is absolutely inexcusable that they treat taxpaying citizens of this county in such a manner.

Spent a few vacations on the beach but today we visited the Tin City Waterfront Shops for the first time and really enjoyed it. Ate lunch then dinner right smack on the river. Aside from restaurants and boutiques there are historic landmarks in Naples too.

Naples is a nice place to visit, with lots to do in the area. Great beaches, lots of nature…read morecenters, a beautiful botanical garden, the town is cute and charming with some historic buildings and many things to do: cultural events, great dining and shopping scene, art galleries (some on the cheesy side, but that's how Naples is). You can find parking in downtown (free), lots of activities in the area, local cruises (nature ones, historic, shorter or longer), so do some research before visiting. Check their event calendar for art fairs and street events since they have them all through the year. Naples has personality, far from being boring!

I came to Collier County Courthouse to do my civil duty and serve as a juror. I put the address in…read moremy google maps and followed them. It promptly took me to the jail. After walking to towards the jail I kept thinking this can't be right. I knew I wanted at least a five story building. I started asking where it was and the answers were kind of funny. First you go left than take two rights and then a left. Who the hell can remember that direction. Turns out i was almost on top the building when I asked again and the directions I was given took me all around the building to the entrance. If I was given correct directions I would been there in like two minutes.OK I found it. You go through tight security which is fine with me. Then woosh up an elevator to the 5th floor. I signed in and filled out some forms. And I sat and sat and sat. There were 4 total calls for jurors and I was never called. By 2:15 I was pretty sure I was not going to be called along with the 20 other people who did not get called. We were dismissed at 3:30 and did not have to come back. One funny incident somebody called in and said they were not coming back(wasn't me). So we had to take roll call THREE times. They found what was believed to be the missing juror. They called her work and said she was not there. Well guess what they called her she did not answer but was there and an argument proceeded. This threw the official off her game. In Collier County once you turn 70 you can be excused from jury duty for good. My next summons will be I am over 70.

The package was opened and one of the items was missing. I was mailing two pens to a friend that my mom had made. One pen was for Christmas and one was a funny pen of Trump yelling. Interesting, that the package was returned with the Trump pen, but not the Christmas one. Never mailing anything out of this post office.

I thought that was pretty cool! The wifi here is always very good and you have parking right up front! Very convenient. It's just an older style library inside, but it does the job!
