Collegedale coin laundry is a clean laundry mat with nice people and is open 24/7. They have several sizes of both washers and dryers. The machines were a bit pricy, but they work fast I fit about 3 or 4 loads in 1 of the large washers and only had to wait around for 26 minutes. Is it as convenient as an at home washer and dryer? No. But I really do appreciate the massive washers and dryers and the fact that they get done in half the time of a normal washer/dryer.
Depending on the size, the washers range from $2.75ish - $7.00 a load (I paid $6 for each load I did), and its about $0.25 - $0.50 for every 5 minutes in the dryer (the dryers dry your clothes fast).
Over all, I spent about $7.00 per load (thats $6 to wash and $1 to dry). Then again, the price is steeper for bigger loads and I swear I fit 4 regular loads of laundry in ONE of their washers & dryers.
This place seems to always have some people milling about doing laundry, and it is pretty safe. A big plus for anyone really, but especially women.
Just remember that if you decide to come here you need quarters and CASH. They have a machine that will convert your $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills into quarters, but they do not have a machine that accepts cards. There is a bank across the road with an ATM if you need it though.
Also, I would suggest bringing your own laundry detergent and softener. They sell some here for those who need it, but I recommend getting it from the store instead.
All said and done, I would definately come back and I also would gladly recommend it. read more
