DO NOT WORK HERE AS A SWEEPER! If I could give zero stars, I would. I think as a school with…read moreteaching education is great. What I don't like is when working here as a sweeper, you're treated like trash by the principal, Carla. She had no authority over the sweepers, and our boss kept telling us to not listen to anything the teachers say with complaints. He knew we were getting our job done. The principal constantly picked on me and was told that I was terrible at what I was doing. She then pulled me aside one day to tell me to quit or she'll fire me. So I quit. She then texted my boss that I quit, her actions shocked my friends and former coworkers. Especially because my boss was sad and confused about why I "quit." He expressed that to my friends, and they told me. After I left, my friend started getting targeted by Carla, telling her the same things she told me. My friend is quitting today because of how awful the principal has been. Carla has zero respect for what the sweepers do, as well as bullying us. My grandparents were sweepers, and they told me the same thing. The teachers and principals have zero respect for what we do. If you want to complain, do the job yourself. We don't have to work here and pick up after you, especially when a principal bullies and picks on two 17-year-old girls who are tired of the disrespect from the principal.

Unfortunately, our experience with this school has been extremely disappointing. The biggest issue…read morehas been the lack of communication and accountability from administration. There have been repeated concerns regarding bullying, including obvious signs that have been reported by parents multiple times, yet there has been little to no meaningful action or communication about what is being done to address it. Parents should not have to repeatedly advocate for their children's safety or physically go into the school just to get a response. The Assistant Director has been particularly difficult to communicate with. There is very little proactive communication with parents, and it often feels like families are left to chase down answers rather than the administration taking responsibility for keeping parents informed. There are also concerns with the overall culture and professionalism. Some teachers seem more focused on being their students' friends than maintaining the structure, boundaries, and authority that children need from their teachers. Having a positive relationship with students is important, but being liked should never come before being a responsible educator. Another major concern is the quality of the food being served. We have seen or been made aware of food being served to children that was moldy or not completely cooked. This is not something that should ever be considered acceptable in a school setting. Families are expected to pay significant amounts, yet basic standards regarding the food children are being served do not always seem to be met. There are also concerns surrounding lunchroom practices. An aide, Tessa, has been observed rushing children out of the lunchroom before their allotted lunch time is over. The impression given is that this is being done so the lunch staff can be sent home earlier and the school can avoid paying additional hours. If that is in fact the reason, it is extremely concerning. Children should not have their time to eat shortened because of staffing costs or budget decisions. We chose this school because we trusted that our children would be safe, properly supervised, respected, and cared for. Unfortunately, our experience has left us questioning AGAIN whether those priorities are truly being upheld. There are some good people who care about the children, but the ongoing administrative and operational issues are too significant to ignore.

As a lifelong Catholic who attended private Catholic schools, I was excited to send my son to The…read moreMadeleine Choir School. Sadly, our experience was extremely disappointing. From the start, his first-grade teacher was negative and unwelcoming, and we felt he was unfairly targeted. The final straw was when he was accused of "choking" another child during a playground game. The other student and his parent confirmed that no choking happened, yet Principal Megan Randazzo pressured my son to admit it and ignored the truth. She kept slamming her hands on the table.Without any real investigation, she expelled our first grader. This is not the compassionate or fair environment one would expect from a Catholic school. Since transferring to Christian school, he is thriving and super happy. Parents, please think twice before enrolling your child at MCS. Many families, including ours, have felt their children were targeted rather than supported. Very disappointed.

Both Principal Douglas and Principal Randazzo genuinely care about each and every student -- not just academically, but personally. They take the time to know each child and ensure they feel valued and supported. Dr. Kristen Fuoco is incredible with helping students navigate any challenges they may face. Her compassion and dedication make such a difference in the lives of the children. My son, who transitioned from a very large charter school, has been welcomed with open arms. The staff and faculty have helped him recognize his individual strengths and encouraged him toward success and confidence. Mr. Sparks is an unsung hero who ensures everything on campus runs smoothly -- from maintenance and transportation to security and more. I always know my child is safe at school thanks to the school's thorough background checks and safety training for all personnel. The commitment to a secure and nurturing environment gives parents tremendous peace of mind. The Madeleine Choir School also offers an incredible array of after-school programs, clubs, and private music lessons. The choir program is truly outstanding -- the director's passion and excellence in teaching are unmatched and bring out the best in every student. Overall, I cannot imagine a better school experience. The Madeleine Choir School is a place where students are not just numbers -- they are known, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential. I wholeheartedly recommend this school to any family seeking an exceptional education within a supportive and uplifting community.

I think he has the "disease to please"...and so, he kind of "tip toes" around touchy situations. But, all in all he is a nice guy, and seems to take an interest in the kids. The gal who runs the front office, is at the top of her game. She knows most every kid by name, and even remembers their siblings names. I am terribly impressed by her. They offer full day kindergarten (8:30-3:15), breakfast, after care, morning exercise programs, and special learning activities after school. I can't wait until my youngest will be old enough to attend this school. Overall, I think it's a great school!!

Ology isn't cheap and they will be the first to tell you it won't be easy. That said, here is what…read morethey will do for you. First, they will show you how how to enroll in the BYU Math 110 course (equivalent to UVU Math 1050) through the BYU Independent Study Program. Unlike UVU, No placement test is required to take this course. The course consists of 34 homework assignments, one pre-test, three mid-terms, and one final. The pretest and homework assignments are completed online. The mid-terms and final can be taken at the BYU Independent Study Office, the BYU Testing Center, or at an approved proctored testing facility. Here is the part I really liked. The pre-test and the three midterms can be retaken twice after the initial attempt. The final can be retaken once after the initial attempt. The fee to retake tests at BYU is $15. Also, there is no limit on the number of attempts to complete the homework assignments. Oh, they will show you how to sign up for the homework site too. By the way, I paid about $575 to BYU for this course, which includes the separate fee of $99 to access the homework website. Then, I paid Ology $1,000 for their services, which includes a structured class that covers the material, an Ology Text Book with chapters matching the homework assignments, access to their math lab w/computers and lab tutors, and free bottled water!!! Ology has a payment plan if paying $1000 up front isn't possible for you. I believe if you utilize the payment plan option it comes out to $1,100. Ology also offers a "pass or don't pay guarantee." This "guarantee" is a contract between you and Ology that basically states that if you put in the work they will pay for you to re-take the class and that includes both the BYU and Ology fees. You, the student, have to show up to class, don't be more than 15 minutes late, complete the homework assignments on schedule (Ology's schedule, not BYU's) - since BYU doesn't really have one) and miss no more than five days of class throughout the term. The first two missed class periods can be made up in the math lab, the next three you would have to make up through their private tutoring service which is $30/hour. UVU accepts BYU Math 110 as transfer credit meeting the UVU Math 1050 Course. To do this you must have a minimum combined total score of 150 points or higher on the three midterms and 50 points or higher on the Final. Each mid-term and the final are worth 100 points each. I believe your online pre-test score must be 50 points or higher. You also must get 100% on the homework assignments, which sounds hard but it's not, given the resources you will have available to you, such as the math lab tutors and your teacher. Also, wolframalpha.com can be very helpful. Another big help that Ology offers is they have and willingly distribute midterms and finals given to BYU Math 110 students from past semesters. Even though the questions aren't the same the concepts are and they were in the same order as the mid-terms and final I took. My teacher at Ology was AMAZING!!! Not only did she know math she also knew how to teach it, which is significant. She would give use the option to chose being taught a detailed lesson on a particular concept or just what we would need to know to pass, which I really liked. Unfortunately, there are teachers/tutors at Ology who have no business teaching but despite not being good teachers they do know math. I would ask questions very specific in nature but the answer would be far from what I was looking for. There was a point that I thought I wouldn't be able to pass math but I did. In all, I paid about $2,000 including private tutoring, but it was money well-spent in my opinion. Now, math is behind me and graduation is closer.

It's been almost 20 years since I left HS and math and I have never been friend. There is so much I couldn't remember. I was starting from scratch. But this semester, WOW! Math seemed fun now and passing a test, attainable. After all those years of feeling embarrassed and continually failing math, Ology really gives students confidence. I got a B in the class. Me!? (My friend took her math class from the college, had to find her own tutors, spend time in the math lab... wait "in line" to see a tutor and only receiving help from the tutors once or twice a visit. She barely passed with her extra credit assignments) At Ology, you get way better results, tutors with uniform but unique teaching styles and are readily available for homework help. Ology has additional workshops for test prep too. It's well worth the money and time. There are tutors there almost 24-7. Use them! You've payed for them. Time in the tutoring lab means a great test grade and an awesome final grade. Trust me. Students of all ages attend Ology. There is no shaming here. They basically have a no fail, fool proof way to get you past math and on your way to graduation. And if you don't pass, they got your back. But you will.

The Fine Arts Preschool is, without a doubt, the BEST preschool in Salt Lake City. I researched…read moredozens of preschools, and personally toured 10, yes TEN, and this school blew all the others out of the water. 1st ~ The teachers are highly educated, and incredibly experienced. All the research on preschools shows that the #1 factor in a successful program is the education and quality of the teachers. Many of these educators have over 30 years of experience. They don't get thrown off guard, they have tried and true methods, and they are also incredibly creative and energetic. They are passionate teachers. And they are incredibly well organized. The details they are juggling, with such ease, is mind blowing. These are professional, experienced, educators ~ not high school kids looking for a part time job. 2nd ~ the curriculum is amazing. Meaning, it IS a curriculum, this is not just kids playing with blocks while the teachers gossip in the corner, and this is not daycare. The children have classes weekly in dance (including Friday yoga,) the visual arts (where they learn and use modalities linked to famous art works, culminating in a huge student art gallery) music (building from percussion, to wind/horn, to stringed instruments,) theater (building props, understanding character development, cooperation in creating productions,) and creative writing (where they learn to form narratives based on literature themes.) This is not a rigid academic program. I'm a child psychologist, and frankly, pushing "academics" via flashcards and worksheets is just totally inappropriate for a 3-5 year olds brain. This is 3 dimensional learning, with a great emphasis on being part of a community, including conflict resolution, social rules, etc. Hands-on experiential learning is the best way for a child's brain to grow at this stage of a child's development. (but if you're looking for flashcards, this isn't the right program for you.) 3rd ~ magic. They have these incredible magical themed days throughout the year that integrate books, music, dance, food, costumes, sets, everything. Magic days included The Teddy Bear Picnic, The Royal Ball, a Thanksgiving Feast, Winter Wonderland, Gnome and Fairy Garden Day etc etc. These are incredible. 4th ~ They do field trips to a children's theater production and to the museum with age appropriate activities. This builds real excitement for the arts "in the real world." 5th ~ the kids LOVE IT. The children feel loved, safe, and so so happy. My children blossomed, it was such a fabulous introduction to "school." I never heard any resistance to going to school, they were so happy there. And the teachers were so patient with children who were experiencing anxiety about being away from parents for the first time, they were wonderful. Finally - they've thought through all the details, including coming out to the car to pick up and drop off your child right into and out of their car seat, so if you're juggling other children you don't have to get them in and out. It's a breeze! And they welcome parents coming and checking things out (unlike one school I went to that firmly discouraged parents from volunteering or dropping by during the day, which made me uncomfortable.) I felt 100% comfortable with my kids there. They also have a live pianist playing to the dance class, which is incredibly rare. Plus the facility is quite lovely - a real dance and art studio, which is so unique. Many preschools are stuffed into windowless basements. This has huge 20 foot ceilings with lots of light. Beautiful. I can't say enough. It is AMAZING. I would highly recommend it.
