This is specifically in reference to the dog park. There's a big dog side and a small dog side at this park. You can take your dog off leash and have them go explore, play with each other, socialize (sniff butts), and take in all the new aromas of the park! There's been doggy bags every time I've come, and there's also a place with picnic tables in the shade for you to sit down and watch your doggy or for them to rest in the shade if they need to. They have a short, doggy sized water fountain. You just have to use your foot to turn it on and your dog can drink from it. If your dog is like mine and doesn't like drinking straight from the water fountain, I would suggest bringing a collapsable water bowl for you doggy to drink from. There's obstacles on both the big and small doggy park sides for your dogs to practice on, although my dog is all about socializing (sniffing butts) and doesn't understand the obstacle course cause his training sucks (crud, that's a burn on the owner, which is me). I only urge people to please make sure your dogs are up-to-date on their shots before bringing them here and please don't bring your kids if they are afraid of dogs (one parent brought her daughter, who was afraid of dogs and didn't want one anyone near her). And please, please, please pick up after your dog. I know it's a stinky (get it? :-)) part of dog ownership, but it's still part of ownership. Otherwise, let your dog run free (in the enclosed space)!!!! read more

Skate park, basketball courts and soccer fields. Great for sports and they have a good sized walking/running trail, a little over a half mile a lap. Some seating areas as well with gazebos. Just be weary the restrooms are not well kept at all. read more

Pretty decent sized park for a walk/run. I was happy that the park well properly maintained and the employees were currently going around and cleaning up the area. You can walk along the inside or outside of the park. The outside is a little bit more rough so don't wear opened toed shoes. From what I've seen there are two restrooms. On opposite sides of each other. The restroom closest to the fire department are the pictures I have posted. There are no changing tables for infants, not surprised considering it's a park. I saw a post from last week complaining about a broken swing, it's been fixed! I was on the playground and didn't see any issues with anything broken on either sides. Downside: I did see a few transients just camping out so please watch all of your belongings. read more

My favorite parks round. There are soccer fields, basketball courts, plays grounds, tables for picnics, nice walkways to exercise etc. The restrooms are always open and always have toilet paper but not always toilet seat covers. Plenty of perking all around. My favorite park is the dog park section! My tinker belle loves it there. There are two sides, small dogs and big dogs side. There is plenty of room for the dogs to run around, obstacle courses and cool things for the dogs to do. There are two gates before you enter the open dog park area which is very convenient. The rules are posted right on the gate as well. There are always poop baggies for owners to pick up after their fur babies. I've never had an issue with other dog owners or dogs. No one picks up after their dogs. There are always big dogs on the little side, and when you ask the men to take their big dogs over to the other side, they always refuse and start arguing. This is all the dog poop my friend had to pick up on Monday! This is outta control. It only takes one dog too have a sickness, and then all of our dogs get sick. read more

This review is for the Dog Park only. It's a pretty new facility that impresses me a lot. The only way I found out about it was attending the Strawberry Festival and hearing about the "new dog park" being put in. We've been here a few times since then with my Husky and I have to say it's pretty cool and unique. Never been to a dog park that had that many agility implements installed. Overall it's not huge, it's pretty good size though, plenty of room to handle a bunch of dogs. The poop bag holders are never empty and there's a decent amount of seating if that's what you're into. The cool thing about this park is the Dog Bathing area. Set up like a coin operated carwash, this facility has two "stalls" where you can put your dog and wash and dry them. There's a selector on the wall that gives you soap options as well as just regular water for rinsing. The one drawback is that it works on tokens, and the one and only time I wanted to bathe my dog there the machine ran out of tokens with my Husky covered in suds. The positive thing that came out of that event was that I called the number on the machine and the guy who answered the phone vehemently apologized, took my information, and sent me a $20 check for the inconvenience. All is forgiven and then some. It's a really good park, take your dog there and see if you can get him to jump through the tire or run up the ramp or jump over the obstacles, and have a good time... read more

Visited this dog park this afternoon. I'm new to the area and was looking for a new dog park to frequent. Pros: Big dog/Little dog side PLENTY of shade water fountain LARGE area Agility equipment free parking dog wash station PLENTY of poo bags Cons: Dirt + grass (I much prefer fake grass as it leaves my dog cleaner. Grass and dirt get my dog so muddy! but I guess that's why there's a cleaning station) No other dogs (My last dog park, no matter the time of day, there were always dogs, sometimes too many, so it was strange to be here for 30 minutes in the afternoon and there be not a single dog, but it gave us time to work on the agility equipment) HARD TO FIND on the fact that it is not located at the address listed, which sucks for me since I'm brand new to the area. However, after extensively google mapping the area to find it, it wasn't that hard. It's off S. Rose and Raiders, past the basketball courts. The rules posted outside were nice, although they would classify my dog as a small dog. She is medium size, but would more than likely run over small dogs so she always goes on the big dog side. Need to go back when there are other dogs. So four stars because it's clean and has a lot of awesome amenities, but only four because it seems like this place would be a disaster to go to after some rain because of the dirt/grass. read more

It's by the college past the park & past the basketball courts @ the very end of the driveway. I think maping out S. Rose & N Campus rd. would get you closer. Found this randomly on Yelp, we were on our way to San Luis Obispo but our dog started to whine. I loved that it had little obstacles in the park! We've taken our dog to agility class that has similar obstacles. They had a grooming station inside too but looks like it's been out of service for awhile. Can't believe we just discovered this place, beautifully designed! Artistic even. Well-maintained, in fact, there was a crew working on it on a Weds. (Though posted closed for maintenance time is Thursday before 10 am) and they let us in anyway and were very sweet to both my pooches. Will be fun to try the doggie wash some time and try it when it is busier. (It wasn't at 11 am Weds.) My pooches both give the place the 8 busy paws, sniffing noses and wagging tails salute approval. read more

Lovely park, me and my wife like to come her with the grand children and our two jack russells.

Large park, plenty of room for soccer games, football games, open play area, skate parkand parking. Fields are very nice for soccer games, very well maintained. The only problem I had with the park is the horrible poop odor. I don't know how far the dog park is from field 5, but when the wind picks up, boy oh boy it smells like your standing in it . Shame on the dog owners who don't pick up after their pets. Other than the horrible smell, it's a nice park. read more

I went here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty good. A little hard to find seeing how the ENTIRE park has fences through and around it which is pretty odd. The people there were nice and there were enough dogs. It was half grass and half clay with a shaded table area. Parking was easy I just pulled up front. I am assuming its not a very busy dog park except maybe at certain times. It seems people showed up often but didn't stay that long or long enough for even more dogs to arrive. The rest of the park was VERY busy but it didn't interfere with the dog park. I would recommend this park if your local. read more

Awesome place to take your pups to hang out and play. All fenced off so there's no way they can get out. There's a small dog side and a big dog side. They also have showers to bathe your dog after. Turn left onto Raiders way into the side of the college then left again and keep going until you see it on the left right under the bridge. *Dog Park Review* I like how the off leash area for dogs is enclosed by a fence so you don't have to worry about your dogs safety. The left side is dedicated to small dogs and the right is for large dogs. Each side is 50/50 grass and dirt. Chances are your dog will get a bit dirty especially if that grass is wet. There is a dog wash that takes tokens only but I have not used it yet. The first time I went here was early in the morning and there were no dogs here :( The second time was around 4pm and there were a group of dogs there already. So, I recommend going there in the afternoon if you want your dog to socialize. read more

Eventhough my dog has not been to other dog parks this park is great. There are two seperate areas one for large dogs and the other for small. It has a coin operated bathing station just in case man's best friend gets really dirty in addition to poop bags that are always available. Great little dog park. Half dirt, half grass. A whole bunch of agility obstacles. Pretty laid back patrons (in my experience so far). Big dog side, little dog side. Good stuff. It's pretty hard to find your first time. Like the other reviewer said, you'll have to walk past the basketball courts and you'll find it eventually. You can actually park pretty close to the dog park entrance, but you probably won't realize that until you've already parked and figured out where it is. But hey, there's always next time. read more

This dog park is very clean and spacious. There are water stations and plenty of poop bags and trash cans in multiple places. The agility equipment is a nice touch for the more energetic dogs. I love this PARK! so does my dog, BUT i dont get there often. why? becuz my kelpie got trampled over by a husky who likes to bully other dogs he wasnt allowed to go on any walks, beach time, or dog parks because of him! after two months he is finally all better and once again we gotta look out for that bully husky that hurt my poor dog. Been searching for a nice dog park in Oxnard and I believe this is it. They provide a batheing station and a large seating area with shade. Every time that I've brought my dogs here I never had a problem with the owners they're always so kind. I got lost the first time coming here while trying to understand the other yelpers directions so basically if you are driving towards the college you turn left on raiders (fire station should be on your left) then you continue to hug the road to the left and keep going straight until you see the dog park to your left. You should pass the basketball courts to your right. Hope that was a bit more clearer... Rated 4/5 because some people don't pick up after their dogs because the park is a little big but that's no excuse and because the directions need to be fixed on this I got lost walking to the opposite side for 20mins. read more

The park is nice always busy with lots of people here I like that you can show up and play a pickup game of basketball anytime there's a nice walkway for dogs and even the dog park the place also has several canopy areas to picnic and have parties though they only have about 3 tables it's conveniently located and the east end of Oxnard restaurants are clean a lot of sport activity here there's also a small pond which goes very well with the park since he has a lot trees it also has a very nice kids playground there's also plenty of parking so parking is never an issue the basketball nets are intact unlike other parts where they are missing it but it's too early to tell the park is only about 2 years old the good part to come and walk around a few laps get some exercise plenty of lighting definitely not a community park since you have to drive to get here there are there are no homes nearby but well worth the drive. read more

In fact I would recommend turning on Raiders off of Rose (before a children's playpark), then following the road that'son your left. Might not seem like you're going anywhere but the park is RIGHT next to that overpass. The park is encased in a black fence cover, but you can see some obstacle courses through it.
