This is gonna be long, but I thought you'd just like to know about these SCAMMERS...
If you don't read anything out of this, ( which it would be very beneficial if you would ). Read the next paragraph.

DON'T GO IT ISN'T IMPORTANT!!!
In the letter it says all parents should go, because "it's important." All it was a waste of my time which I was there for almost 3 HOURS!!! 3 HOURS I WILL NEVER GET BACK!!! Also they will try to get you for a 76 co-pay!!!
THEY MOSTLY GO AFTER INNOCENTS TOO, TO TRY TO SUCK THEM DRY OUT OF MONEY!!!
So I have gotten this letter in the mail about maybe 2-3 weeks before this "presentation and interview type thing", if you can even call it that. So I went and it was in a nice hotel conference room. Unfortunately that was the only "nice" thing about this experience.
Let's just list so of the "Things" that were said or written, while I was there that should be TAKEN NOTE OF....
1.) We couldn't take pictures or film anything in the presentation according to the main guy who let us in...
2.) When it was time for my interview, my interviewer NEVER HEARD OF ANY OF MY COLLEGE CHOICES... Which is concerning, because they are pretty popular colleges in my state, but they AREN'T IVY LEAGUE!!
The following questions are what she asked me about my college choices
1.) Where are they located?
2.) Are they 4 year colleges?
3.) What are they known for?
I just thought that was a little weird...
3.) I was asked if I was a U.S citizen multiple times.
4.) They wanted money payed in certain amounts of time... $1,995 to be exact or if you couldn't pay it all in the next week. It was broken up in a 57 week time span which was almost 3,000...
5.) In the beginning when they set up, and the end of the presentations when they were starting interviews, they were playing videos of colleges. None of the colleges were small colleges. They were pretty much all IVY LEAGUE... Which tells me they probably are gonna try to scam you...
Also in none of these college videos was this "company" recommended or said by any students talking on the video...
6.) They wanted about 5 signatures from my mom, and a few from me...
7.) They wanted so many phone numbers...
( mine, my moms, my dad's, work phone, house phone etc ). These also had to be written multiple times, on multiple papers...
8.) They seem kinda forceful, with what they're trying to sell. For ex. My brother's still in middle school, they said when he's in 8th grade he can sign up too. Since he's my brother he would get 40% off.
I didn't know this was a buy one get one 40% off sale... Also when my mom called ahead of time and they said this experience was "Free, and nothing was to be paid whatsoever."
And just some other things I won't get into detail about...
1.) They told me "I'd get into college NO MATTER WHAT." As long as we payed the money...
2.) Everything they offer you can get way cheaper...
What is a great alternative?
1.) SAT book there's some around $30 and that's expensive compared to some...
- some even have CDs, tests, hidden tips...
2.) Take FREE tests to see what it is that needs to be studied, after that focus on what can be improved...
3.) Staying after or before school for help class if needed, tutors are good too. They can also be expensive. So find what's best for you.
4.) Join clubs. Extracurriculars. Volunteering.
- Maybe volunteer for something that could help you see if that's the path you really want to follow.....
5.) Build a strong GPA.
- JUNIOR YEAR IS IMPORTANT
6.) When you submit anything to colleges. They look for mistakes, A SIMPLE MISTAKE COULD MAKE OR BREAK YOU.
6.) Lastly, the more you do now the better your future...
- it can really help you out with financial aid
- make sure you absolutely love what you choose, and can see your self doing it for a very long time...
- make sure to stand out, because the world can be cruel, and replace you as fast as a snap of the fingers...
Thank you for reading this far!!! I really hoped this helped, didn't want to ever have to write this till I heard about similar experiences.... Thought maybe I was the only one...
Pretty much what I want you to get out of this is, DON'T BE FOOLED BY SCAMMERS!!! YOUR AT MORE RISK BY GOING...
Have a great morning, evening or night!!! Goodbye and Goodluck!!! read more
