I am sad. I just found out that Dr. Ryan, my favorite doctor and PCP of many, many years, has just turned her practice into a concierge based program, charging $6k per year. And I was not informed until I tried to call to schedule my annual physical. Terrible communication and a blatant lack of respect to her long standing patients. I guess us "basic patients" don't really matter anymore. With all that said, for those who choose to be a concierge patient of hers, congrats. Aside from my gripes above, she really is an amazing doctor. read more

Dr. Ryan is an outstanding MD, very knowledgeable and possessing great bedside manners! The medical staff are very good as well, all caring and nice. In the front area, Bernadette is unbelievably nice, always helpful and super competent! I hope Dr. Ryan knows how good Bernadette is :) I live in WeHo Hills and have chosen to stay with Dr. Ryan and her team since their move to Culver City because having them on my team is well worth the distance. I only wish it was easier to get on her schedule, but that's the price we all pay because she and staff are uniquely great and as such very much in demand! February 2021 Update: For the past year we have all been struggling with all sorts of pandemic-induced life and health issues. This past year I have had multiple video visits with doctor Ryan, as many as 8-10. She has always been super attentive, extremely helpful, understanding and a God sent health problems solver. She remains among the best doctors I or any of my family have ever had, anywhere. And that's saying a lot because to date, for my health and that of my lives ones, I or my family have had to be treated hundreds of doctors, mostly in some of the best medical centers in major cities in the US (Boston Mass General, Beth Israel, UC San Francisco, Stanford, UC Los Angeles, Cedars Sinai , Portland, Nashville, Houston, Cleveland Clinic), and overseas in London & Bristol UK, Istanbul and the Middle East! See doctor Ryan for all your family health needs. She is awesome! read more

I am a physician myself, rather picky with whom I will consult with, and absolutely love Dr Ryan. She is extremely smart, personable, addresses all my concerns and takes her time with me. When I read these negative Yelp reviews I can't imagine they're referring to the same doctor!!! I highly recommend Dr Ryan. When I was offered "better" PPO insurance and switched to a PCP closer to my home, I was so unimpressed that I switched back to the HMO I previously had such that I could go back to Dr Ryan. She follows up on all my studies on the Cedar-Sinai app (which is very good BTW) and keeps up with all my preventive health screens. She is in demand, so if these negative reviews make her more available, GOOD FOR ME! read more

Dr. Ryan is a nice woman but that's about it. I scheduled a routine physical (I'm supposed to get 1 for free a year) literally 6 months in advance (they claimed it was the first one avail). Finally my physical comes around, the nurse sees me, takes my vitals, and says the doctor will be right in with you. Literally 45 minutes later I open my door and everyone is surrounded a computer watching a YouTube video laughing. I'm livid. I parked my car on the street and paid for a meter which was about to run out, while these "doctors" are watching YouTube videos for an appt I scheduled 6 MONTHS AGO! On top of all that, Colleen literally comes in and asks me the most pointless questions (How am I sleeping? How am I feeling?) with literally no solutions (she also mentioned she'd check up on me in a couple of months and that never happened either). To top it all off, I got a bill in the mail! I'm calling my insurance to fight the bill (it's for $20, it's not the money, it's the principle of this shady doctor office) and they are claiming we "discussed" other things outside of the physical. Never ever ever list Colleen Ryan or anyone associated with this Dr. office as your PCP because they don't care and just want your money. read more

Wonderful doctor, but impossible to get seen or treated. Have been going to Dr Ryan for a few years. New office location brought reduced hours. Yesterday I waited 2 1/2 hours for an appt because office and Cedars call center double booked my appt. I am leaving practice sadly.Staff has no respect for patients time. My insurance was charged, and I finally left without being treated. Staff also has no insight into the schedule of the doctor, has no idea how long the wait time will be. Appointment times mean absolutely nothing. Assume you will be there for 4 hours.Expect to be treated with an attitude and an expectation that you will wait forever "just to get seen". For the past year every time I have been ill, I have had to go to an outside urgent care practice, even though I have her as my primary . The doctors on call do not return calls. Dr Ryan never returns calls. The nurses are curt and difficult. The experience at this office is 1 out of 10. Made a complaint, still no call back. Medication refills take min 3 days , you must call repeatedly to get any kind of response. if you have are sick or need medical help go find another doctor. read more

The one star is for the office, NOT for Dr Ryan (that I did not meet). I had an appointment today at 2pm. I show up at 1:45pm as they ask you to arrive 15 min prior to your appointment. The nurse check my weight & heart rate and ask me to wait, "Dr Ryan will be there any minute"... I waited until 3pm (that is a FULL HOUR during which NO ONE came in to inform me that the doctor was running late ) and had to leave to go back to work (this was my lunch break). No apologies from the staff besides a quick "Dr Ryan is running late". I asked to reschedule and the next available appointment was in 3 weeks!!! I mean come on! If people come to see you it's because they have a health issue that needs to be checked ASAP, not in 3 weeks! I understand that doctors can sometimes run late but I would have appreciated a quick phone call before to inform me so that I would have come in at 3pm and not 1:45pm read more

I chose Cedars based on reputation and was set up with Dr Ryan's office. I have one free physical a year through my health insurance plan, so I asked for a routine physical. Scheduling went smoothly. Upon arriving at the office, I had to wait 30-40 minutes because they double booked my appointment. This wasn't a big issue because luckily I had the time. The appointment went sort of smoothly in that Dr. Ryan was nice, but the medical information I received was later refuted by a specialist. The big issue was that apparently even though, during scheduling, we explicitly agreed that this would be a physical, at the tail end of my appointment Dr. Ryan informed me that this was not indeed a physical but some kind of special first-time get to know you office visit, so I was billed $200 for something I didn't really need anyway. After several phone calls, it was determined that nothing could be done. read more

While Dr. Colleen Ryan is nice and friend, she is never on time. (I've only see her twice) So don't plan to be in and out within an hour. It is also impossible to schedule an appointment within a reasonable time frame. First time I came here was for a follow up visit. I had to wait 20 min or so. Which isn't too bad for w doctors office (This was after I got into the exam room. So tack on another 20 fir waiting room). There's only 1-2 people waiting Second time. I came for a physical. Let me say. I booked this appointment way back in April. And there was no available time until July. I waited 15 min in the waiting area.. Then..I had to wait in the exam room for over an hour. No word from any of the nurses or Dr. Ryan herself that she was running extremely behind schedule. She says they will be calming down in approx 6 months m. So hopefully. Pro. They do validate parking. Probably bc they know they always run behind schedule. read more

I have been living in Southern California for 6 years now, and I have been trying to find a good Primary Care Physician since moving here. I have seen a few doctors, and haven't been satisfied up until this point. I recently found Dr. Ryan, and I have to say she is by far one of the best doctors I have ever seen. She is very friendly, compassionate, and seems like she is genuinely concerned about her patients. She made sure to go through everything with me, and make sure all my concerns were addressed. I never felt rushed with her, but always feel like she spends a good amount of time with me. I would definitaley recommend Dr. Ryan to anyone who is in search of a primary care physician. She is located at Cedars-Sinai Medical Group. read more

Two months ago I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Ryan. My appointment was set for April 11, 2018. Today (April 5, 2018). I receive a call from her office cancelling my appointment and attempting to reschedule for the end of this month, or early next month. (My initial appointment) because she has scheduled a meeting during my appointment. The secretary said this happens regularly and she often redirects patients away from Dr. Ryan because is a part time MD and often unavailable. I can't believe a Cedars-Sinai affiliate would do this to her patients. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more

I just moved to LA from San Diego and I was in the market for a new Primary Care Physician. I found Dr. Ryan through the Cedar-Sinai patient phone hotline and I don't regret it! Not only was she attentive, conversational, and friendly, but she genuinely felt interested in my needs and concerns. Her staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The appointment process was a breeze and I really appreciated the two phone calls prior to my appointment confirming the time. I plan to make Dr. Ryan my new Primary Care Physician and I suggest you do the same! read more

I am a patient of Dr. Ryan and she always takes the best care of me, tending to my needs, returning emails immediately within the same day in most cases as well as turning phone calls in a timely manner (keeping in mind that she is a physician and does have other patients). I would trust her with the well being of my my entire family. She truly cares for her patients; her bedside manner is impeccable. I drive from Pasadena to Culver city to see her because I care she provides is worth it. read more

Dr Ryan is easily the best doctor I have ever had. She is very thorough and is truly concerned about you as a person. I was never rushed and she took time to ask me about all aspects of my life. I felt very well taken care of as a patient for a year before she left Boulder. I am compelled to write this as I am truly baffled by the other reviews that have given Colleen the poor reviews. I can only guess they were having bad days themselves and their reviews are a reflection of themselves. In no way are they an accurate representation of this wonderful person. Do not hesitate if you are considering her as your doctor! read more

The absolute worst office ever. This has been my primary for over 2 years, with Colleen Ryan listed as my doctor. I never been able to get an appointment with her but I currently have pneumonia which was diagnosed over the phone over five days ago, they are so clueless however that they don't even know how to send a prescription in. My options are to go to urgent care or the emergency room where my copay would be either $100 or $200 versus the $30 I would have to pay if I could actually get an appointment. Why would you possibly accept more patients if you can't service the current patients you have? Why would you not ask for the exact address or phone number of the pharmacy when sending a prescription?? Five days after my on the phone diagnosis, I still don't have my prescriptions. Two weeks to get an appointment? Seriously? Will definitely not be using them as my primary moving forward. After reading the other reviews it's clear that Dr.Ryan needs to get off her high horse, stop taking more patients then she's capable of handling, be on time and not waste other people's time! This is what greed will do to a business. Just read all the other horrible reviews! And for the record, if I receive inferior service on the day of my appointment because of this review, expect a lawsuit! Funny how all the reviews are either five stars or one. Wonder which ones were either from friends and family and which ones are real. read more

AVOID THIS OFFICE- Called for my PCP Dr. Fitzgerald in this office. They had no appointments today, didn't suggest any other day or try to help me figure it out at all, just said, "yeah no we're full today" "okay, I most likely have the flu, what do I do then?" "Go to an urgent care I guess" Got an appointment w another office in Toluca Lake and was seen within an hour and given all the Perscriptions I needed. SHAME on your office! read more

Dr. Ryan is an excellent Dr. She is warm and friendly, very highly skilled, and genuinely invested in my well-being. I always have a lot of questions and she never minds them and never tries to rush my appointment. I wish people didn't write negative reviews about scheduling here. It makes the Dr. look bad and she has nothing to do with it. read more

What an amazing doctor. She always listens to my concerns, give thoughtful responses, and has my overall health in mind. Although sometimes it takes a while to get an appointment, its always well worth it. If there is something urgent, there's always someone at Cedars who can can see you in a jiffy. read more

Dr. Ryan is an excellent physician. She truly cares about her patients, listens thoroughly and focuses on holistic medicine rather than merely treating symptoms. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is in need of an amazing, thoughtful doctor. read more

I'm sure Dr. Ryan is a nice person and potentially a good doctor, but if you value your time do not go to her practice. I took the morning off for my 9:30 appointment. I showed up at 9:15. Not only did they get the reason for my visit incorrect, but Dr. Ryan wasn't available to see me until nearly an hour after my appointment. I was told by her associate that she ALWAYS RUNS LATE. read more

I'm a big fan. Obviously her superiors are, too, as she's been given administrative responsibilities that make her less available for appointments. I hope she manages to stay in the patient-service game and that she'll continue to be my family's PCP. read more

I used to like Dr. Ryan. I guess my case is too complicated for her. The care and help I received was useless. I didn't particularly care for her presumptions. She ought to open another business. She'd probably be great at selling flowers. No longer a fan. read more

I have never written a review on Yelp so that should tell you how passionate I am about not wanting others to experience what I went through with Dr. Ryan. IF YOU CAN GO ANYWHERE ELSE.... DO IT! I had an appointment with her in February at their new office location. I had been in a serious car accident and wanted to see her regarding my care. It was first thing in the morning, and left an hour and a half to get there. Traffic was building and I realized that I may not arrive in time. I tried to call 3 times, but just got voicemail. I finally got through around the time of my appointment and told them I was stuck in traffic but down the street from their offices. I apologized and asked if they would still honor my appointment and they said yes. When I arrived 10-15 mins late they told me that the doctor would not see me. I told them I just drove almost 2 hours to get to the appointment that morning and could they please show some humanity and squeeze me in. My back was in agony at this point from being in the car for so long. They refused, but said I could wait and see if someone canceled. After 45 mins., someone took me back to get my blood pressure, weight, etc. and the reason for my visit. I thought I would be seeing the doctor...but no. After waiting an hour I asked if there was any way to get in to see her because I had to go back to work. They said no. I left and called my insurance to switch my doctor IMMEDIATELY to someone else. I don't have space in my life for anyone who is that cold and inhumane...especially someone in the medical field. A few weeks later I GOT BILLED for the office visit. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! read more

I was really sick, and needed to be seen right away. I was referred here by the office of my own PCP, who is Dr. Golian, who is just as awesome, but currently on leave. I ended up seeing Dr. Ryan, and her partner Dr. Azarmehr. They are both so smart, kind, caring, respectful. Their entire office staff is amazing too. They helped me out so much in so many ways: quick last minute appointments, disability forms, work letters. Everyone I encountered in the office is so kind, efficient, and professional. They show genuine concern, which is so important when you're feeling horrible. They also made room for my partner, not yet even a patient of the practice, who was really sick too, on a day that she couldn't even get in to the urgent care, it was so busy. read more

I recently became a patient of Dr. Ryan and could not be happier. She is thorough and thoughtful, but one of the most amazing things she does is SPEND TIME to get to know you. She is never rushed and has a bright and cheerful manner. I guess the most important reason I am writing this review is Dr. Ryan gives you results. I am 100% satisfied with her and her staff. read more

Rude receptionist and was told they are not accepting new patients until next year.

Here's the scoop: My initial review was poor because it was hard to be seen for my first appointment. But the trick is, once you're in, it's a dream! Now that I have been seen, Dr. Ryan is an amazing woman and savvy doctor. She is responsive to emails and is prompt with referrals. I trust her and am pleased I selected her. read more

Dr. Ryan is amazing. I recommend her to everyone who asks, and I've never had any complaints. Her bedside manner is unmatched. We don't see each other often, but I've never enjoyed seeing a PCP so much. Dr. Ryan is our family physician and she is simply wonderful. Beyond her kind and attentive personality she has always been spot on with diagnosis and more then willing to discuss all options throughly. I trust her with my entire families care- my son loves visits to Doc Colleen! She takes the time that seems impossible to come by in other physicians and it makes all the difference. She goes beyond simply perscribing the latest greatest thing and takes time to really get to the root of what is going on. I couldn't recommend her more highly! read more

I absolutely ADORE this physician. Although she is not my PCP, she has the most amazing bedside manner, is very thorough, and if you have the chance to come in contact with her, or even better, get her as your doctor, you will not be disappointed. She is caring, has a fabulous office staff and team, and am very fortunate that she has come to my rescue on more than one occasion as an on call doctor at Cedars. I recommend her to anyone. read more

Dr. Ryan is, hands down, the best doctor I've ever had. She spends time with me, really listens, and gives a lot of thought to her care, prescriptions and responses. Also, she has been great a bridging the gap between western medicine (which i find necessary, especially in health crises) and acupuncture/functional medicine (which I find just as necessary, especially with regards to preventative medicine). I find that last quality hard to find among doctors. Most doctors seem to have an ego and an "Us versus Them" attitude. But why wouldn't you use every available resource for your health and well being? It says a lot to her confidence in what she does and her desire to learn as much as she can and really help her patients. I'm so grateful I found her. read more

Dr. Ryan is the best GP that I've ever had. Before I met with her, her staff warned me that she tends to run a little behind schedule, but when you meet her.....you know why. She takes the time needed to get to the bottom of any issue and she makes you feel like you are her only patient. She's also very responsive on the CS Link app, if you have questions between appointments, which is very helpful for someone like me who doesn't have much time to see a doctor in person. She has helped me immensely. read more

I am a very new patient for Dr. Ryan. I came to see her because I had pains in my head. She had me take blood test and an MRi to cover all the possibilities. I found her to be efficient, knowledgeable and understanding. She had her nurse call me at home to check my symptoms and then Dr. Ryan did a follow-up call. This was a very new experience for me. Not that I want to have to go to the doctor, but if necessary, I think I would definitely choose Dr. Ryan for the task of taking of me. read more

One horrible experience after another. I have been seeing Dr Ryan for a few years and while she is a great doctor, her office is so extremely rude and incompetent that I will be finding another doctor at another practice. Not only is it virtually impossible to make an appointment when you are sick and need to get in, but an appointment for a physical must be made six months in advance and there is a strong chance it will need to be rescheduled by their office. I called yesterday to double check on my appointment for next week after much back and forth from their office saying my appointment had been cancelled due to Dr Ryan having a meeting off site and then honored again after speaking to the doctor. The last correspondence I had was a voicemail left by Jennifer at the front desk letting me know Dr Ryan would still honor my appointment for the scheduling inconvenience - which I really appreciated. After a 20 minute hold yesterday, I was told by Dora that my appointment in fact had been cancelled again and that no one in their office had recollection of the voicemail left or any of the correspondence - particularly that Dr Ryan had approved this appointment. The earliest they could then schedule me would be a 5pm appointment later in the week (was told I could either fast until 5pm or just come back another time to do blood work - how efficient to now schedule two appointments after a six month waiting period for one) or after the New Year. It's probably a good thing they aren't taking new patients as Dr Ryan's office does her practice and talent an incredible disservice. read more

Colleen Ryan saved my life and not in an acute car accident kind of way. She supported me emotionally, and medically as I went through the most difficult year of my life to date. She was right next to me doing the research as I went down the rabbit hole of Lyme Disease. We researched my lab results, my symptoms, treatment options, community resources, she even reached out to infectious disease docs on my behalf. All this was happening while my family was falling apart financially and my toddler was clearly not developing normally. She was our family doctor as we figured out pain management, entered into the new world of being parents to a sensory child and eventually a diagnosed autistic child. She met with my husband about the stressors of our life and how she may support our whole life, not just the medical component of the whole picture. If you are searching for a new PCP, RUN to her office. She will take great care of you and by that I mean ALL of you. We are standing together, maneuvering our new world because of her love, compassion and support. We Love Dr. Ryan and will always hold a very special place for her in our hearts. All Of Us. read more

If there was an option to give zero stars, I would. Patient centered care is not her forte. However, her forte entails being extremely condescending, and holier than thou. Made me feel like more of a dunce than a patient. Not going back to her. read more

Dr. Ryan is hands down one of the most compassionate providers I've ever come across. I feel supported by her when I'm not well, and trust her recommendations for treatment. She is a determined advocate for her patients, as she has a deep understanding of the bodies ability to heal and a stunning working knowledge of modern medicine. She listens to my concerns and understands me where ever I'm at. Colleen has the wisdom to discern what treatment is appropriate because she really takes in what I communicate and combines that with her breadth of knowledge of medicine, offering a sane, unpretentious approach to my wellness. Probably the best provider I've ever had the pleasure of being cared for by, Dr. Ryan has absolutely impacted my life for the better. Picking out a PCP when you are new to an area is a real crap shoot...historically, my picking out a doctor every time I move or my health insurance changes has been like a whole string of bad first dates. That is why I cannot BELIEVE my good fortune that I randomly selected Dr. Ryan and she turned out to be the best PCP I've ever been to!! Super nice gal and easy to talk to but also very knowledgeable and thorough. I have nothing but good things to say about her -- she's just a lovely person. Her staff was very gracious and accommodating as well...my appointment was on a Friday at 3PM and got in pretty quickly. I agree with Laura W., who mentioned the reason her appointments tend to run long is because she really takes her time with each individual patient - I put off going to the doctor as much as possible so, once I went, I had a laundry list of issues, each of which Dr Ryan tackled with with efficacy and professionalism. I just adore her and am a huge fan!!! She's the greatest!!! read more
