I think the best way to describe how Manuela treats you is she listens with her hands - she never just goes through the motions or just sticks to a checklist. While she asks you at the start where the problematic areas are, she is also always hyper-aware as she goes through the treatment on areas you never thought needed a bit more work. My masseuse's hands were SO cold they gave me a chill through the blanket. He laughed it off the first time I asked him to warm them up, " I'm gonna steal some of your body heat " he said. I told him that made me uncomfortable and insisted he go warm them. He didn't know how to the stereo system, so traffic and construction noise was interrupted 6 or 7 times by him yelling "ALEXA PLAY SPA MUSIC". I followed up a few days later with a phone call, asking for no compensation, but offering feedback on my negative experience. I then received an unsolicited and lengthy email from "an owner" Neil Aronoff. He made excuses, insisted my negative experience was my fault, looked at my file and made personal assumptions about me based on my job title, offered me 20% off my next appt, gave me a bogus work number, and never returned my messages. You're better off living in pain than you are spending money in this Clinic.

Nisha did my massage and she was very considerate and always asked if the pressure was ok. She would give warning when putting the hot towel on my back. It was a relaxing massage. As I was getting ready to leave, I noticed a bug crawl up the wall. Looked a bit closer and took a picture as it looked very much like a cockroach. After shaking off my clothes and jacket, etc. I went to pay and left. I felt very creeped out after that. I verified later that it was indeed a roach. Needless to say I will not be going back.

I have been busy and haven't had a massage for a few months so it's time to book another one. The best part is that the clinic is quite close to home so an added bonus to support our local community. She always offers water, and checks to see if the streetcar is coming in poor weather. TCNM does not automatically submit claims to your insurance, you must do that yourself. Dr. La is very considerate of my financial constraints and skepticism. She has never recommended a supplement without good reason, and she has never been pushy about supplements or treatments. She's very realistic about what kinds of things I can (and will) do while encouraging me when necessary. Dr. La takes an extremely thorough history, something I've never gotten from any MD. She has been able to spot connections that no one else has because she asks, and she knows her stuff. If you're considering seeing a naturopath, I 100% recommend going for a consultation at TCNM.
