I didn't have a wait which is always awesome when you are needing to return to work. Dr. Lazenby was very very educational and pleasant. The office staff, every single one of them were enjoyable, professional, helpful and a joy to work with. From my nurse Shannon who pleasantly walked me through the entire screening process to the front desk staff, Amber and Victoria who quickly and efficiently checked me in and out to Andrea who help me pick my glasses. Andrea is a gem!. So for the first time in all these 36 years I learned something that has NEVER been spoken to me in my process of choosing my new frames. Apparently, there are 2 digit numbers that tell you the size or width of the frames. This is huge!. When Victoria directed me to the frames she mentioned this to me and told me what she felt my range probably was. Mind blowing!. So Andrea comes along and gave me a truly honest opinion on my choices and spent over half an hour with me making sure I picked the right width and bridge size and an appropriate lens size!. She let me know when something would not fit me properly and if the pick just didn't look good on my face. I have NEVER enjoyed the selection process of my frames and it was frustrating in the previous selection process. In the past I was just directed to the women's frames. I would pick a pair, usually not sold on them but tired of trying to find something I liked (difficult too when your vision is impaired). Then the final measuring process took place and order. Then 10 days later pick up a pair of glasses that would not even stay on my face because they were too wide, too big. I always assumed you picked a frame and the measuring process was to have the framed made to fit. Not the case at all. I was having fun and Andrea was the icing on a fabulous cake!!!! HIghly highly recommend.

I went in for my annual eye exam and renewal for my glasses. Everyone was very nice and…read moreprofessional and the doctor was very kind and jovial. Everything was great until I took my prescription across the hall to the optical shop to have my eyeglass prescription filled. The woman in the optical shop was very rude and dismissive. She told me my insurance would only cover $250 for frames and lenses and $150 of that was for the lenses alone. The problem is it left me with $100 for frames and not one of those frames in the optical shop was under $100. I asked her what were the cheapest pairs they had then because I am on a fixed income and had already spent all of my money on bills. She told me to just look around and acted put out. Of course I have low vision, I could not read any of the price tags. The frames I really liked and wanted were over $200 for just the frames. She continued to act put out because I kept asking how much ones I liked cost. (Again I could not see the prices listed on the tags on the earpieces.) I had to get what I could afford and ultimately I felt like the shop was gouging on the price of all of the frames to make a profit off of them because insurance was paying at least $250 maximum. She figured it up with the pair I ultimately picked, but did not really want, just because they were the cheapest pair I could find. She told me I would have to come up with $58 before she could put in an order for the glasses. I have two forms of insurance and usually if you exceed what the primary is willing to pay, the secondary will cover it. She kept telling me she could not do that. I felt like this woman was thinking I was an idiot who didn't know my stuff, and she was treating me accordingly. (My insurance company told me that she could have definitely charged my secondary for the balance over the main insurance allowance.) I left feeling dejected. I talked to a friend who told me "don't worry I'll loan you the money for the glasses." She called them and was told I didn't owe anything because I was fully covered and said to my friend, "I had to refigure it, and it's sometimes more or sometimes less depending on what frame they pick, what extras they want like progressive lenses, etc." And while she told me that when I was there, I sat right there and watched her figure this up and told me I owed $58 which I didn't have right then, and I didn't even have enough money for a down payment so I was again told "well if you come up with the money then call and we'll order your glasses." I called again and asked when they would be ready and was again, treated dismissively and told "we'll call you when they are ready" and acted like she didn't want to talk to me at all. I did tell her at that point if I had known I would not owe anything, I would have picked one of the pairs in the same price range as the pair I ultimately ended up with because I didn't actually like those and was told, "oh well, too late to fix it now I ordered the pair you gave me." Yeah a pair I felt pressured into getting because she didn't take the time to recalculate anything while I was still there and I just picked the cheapest pair I picked up because I didn't want to end up paying too much out of pocket. I had to use a medical ride service to get there, otherwise I would have just taken my prescription and gone elsewhere. It's crazy to me that there are other in network places around I could have used that would have let me get one or two pairs for $20 a pair lenses included, which is why I believe the optical shop part of Regional Eye Clinic is gouging on the cost of frames for its low income customers. I did find out I could have gotten the ones she quoted me as being $250 for the frames alone, ($150 out of pocket) for $15 online. So if I had been evaluating the eye doctor alone, I would have given a 5 Star review, and the optical shop alone it would have gotten 1 Star. I went somewhere in the middle only because the doctor and his office staff were both awesome. The optical shop part of it treated me like I was stupid and was very unprofessional and rude, both in person and on the phone. And now I have to deal with her again when I finally get my glasses and a "don't call us we'll call you" type of statement.

OMG. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I saw some decent reviews and made…read morean appointment to update my eyeglass prescription. I picked out frames and had the glasses made at EyeMart in Joplin. After the glasses were made, they were completely UNusable because the prescription by Lacy Hale was disturbingly WRONG. When I returned the glasses to EyeMart, even the sales crew knew the prescription was off and couldn't be correct when they compared it to my old prescription (which Ms Hale was given at my appointment.) I had to make a new appt with a different Optometrist ($100) and have my glasses re-made. This cost me TIME and MONEY. The new prescription from a different optometrist is fine. I was upset and asked Hale Vision to refund my appointment cost ($40). Her receptionist refused and was RUDE on her behalf. I wrote a letter explaining my dissatisfaction and mailed it to her office. I received no reply. I was then billed $118 for "remaining charges" as Hale does not accept my insurance. Last week, I took my insurance claim form to Hale Vision on Thursday to submit it myself. I was the only customer in the office. The receptionist told me I would need to return on Monday, 4 days later. "It was a lot of paperwork." Literally, it is filling out the prescription and signing the form. I called Monday to pick it up. The first 2 phone calls were not answered at all. I left a message with my phone number. My call was never returned. I reached the receptionist on a 3rd call late in the afternoon. The claim form is not signed. "I think she took it home with her." "She is not in the office today, she had an emergency." I was told to check again tomorrow. Based on my experience Ms. Hale is not prepared to run a practice alone. She needs supervision. My prescription was wildly INCORRECT. She and her receptionist have been unprofessional in dealing with me. I believe she is intentionally delaying her signature on my claim form because I justifiably complained. Once I receive the insurance claim form, I will immediately pay the bill I just received; not before. GO ELSEWHERE!
