After completing her program and passing the PAN-Canadian board examinations, she pursued an internship at the Mianyang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Southwest China. There, she deepened her understanding of the principles and practice of Chinese medicine. I had a membership to Cole Harbour Place for a little over a year and I probably went regularly for about four months and then never again. Such is life. Still, as far as gyms go, I really did appreciate the CHP experience. The membership was crazy affordable as a result of a employee program, the staff on site are extremely friendly even at the ungodly hour of the morning when I'm essentially a crossbreed between a harpy and a mistreated rhinoceros, the range of equipment satisfies everything from 'getting ready for summer' to 'HULK SMASH! HULK MAKE MUSCLE! HULK EAT YOU FOR BREAKFAST!', and the number of machines on site were usually pretty good at handling the volume of people coming in. But of course, that's just the gym portion. There's also a hockey rink, a pool, a library, and a ridiculous amount of classes all held on site. So if you're a better person than I who can actually tolerate indoor exercise, Cole Harbour Place has got you covered for pretty much whatever you're into. Jut watch out for Hulk. He gets carried away.

I have been suffering with severe headaches and migraines for almost two years now. I've been for test after test, and tried many different medications. As a last resort I decided to follow a co-workers suggestion and try out a naturopath at Pillars of Health. I booked an appointment with Dr. Jennifer Salib Huber (who is also a dietitian), and immediately felt at ease. She asked me more questions than I think my family doctor has ever asked me, and then was able to determine a likely cause, and a treatment plan including dietary changes and visits to a chiropractor (not a pile of prescription meds!) In three days I had better results than I had had in the past two years, and the following week I went to see Dr. Denise Wright, the chiropractor in the office, who also helped me greatly but with no big whipping or snapping movements that I was scared of. She was also great when it came to putting me at ease, and always uses the gentlest method of adjustment possible. She also suggested I see a Registered Massage Therapist (Meghan L. Munro (Palmer), and all three combined have virtually gotten rid of my headaches. I know for someone without medical coverage this can be expensive but for those who are covered by an insurance plan I would highly recommend all of the staff at Pillars of Health. I also liked that they are trying to help me not have to come back. I know that my sound weird but sometimes I feel like (especially with private practitioners), they want you to keep coming so they keep getting paid, but here getting you better really is their #1 priority. They do direct bill to Blue Cross, and their clinic is very clean and welcoming.

Well it did work! I'm off narcotics, reduced the other medications and feel terrific. She's helped me through back pain, lack of sleep, reduced energy levels, thyroid issues, and more. I can't say enough good things about their willingness to help and want you to feel better. My first visit was a head to toe overview of an hour to make sure we would focus on what was required. She's worked to make me feel better and is never trying to make me come more often than required.

Walking in I was greeted by a friendly woman, rude of me not to get her name but she was very helpful. Massage Addict is actually a membership based massage therapy location which long story short means $50 for a 1 hours massage. Yes you have to sign up for 12 months but you can leave at any point.. This location is actually pretty new. Nice decorated with a vibrant green wall when you first walk in which is very eye catching. Nice white leather coach to relax while waiting. Micheal actually gave me my massage and he was very good, very strong I did not know weather to cry or hug him. But the most important thing my back feels 100% better and this was my first one. I have already booked for March and I can not wait. Oh yeah they are starting the week of Feb 21 with Esthetics's services as well and the prices are very reasonable. Some of the services that they offer are Beyond Brazilian I can just imagine but other then waxing they will do Facial care as well as Nails. I will post a picture tomorrow for you..

Having felt quite frustrated with my insurance company as of late and getting more so as the months go on, I decided this was a nice way to relax and also "avenge" myself by ensuring that we are sucking every last dollar out that we're entitled to on our plan. I haven't had a lot of experience with getting massages (none in fact) but as a business these guys are solid. Friendly front desk staff, and the therapists are professional and friendly. I always walk out of there feeling a little more relaxed and a little less tense. The introductory rate can't be beat and the monthly membership is definitely a savings. And as with all benefits I put it on my credit card for the points and then have my insurance company reimburse :) #winning
