I went to numerous doctors and was told it was everything from "becoming a woman" to "the stomach flu". I was sick for three years until they found out I had gallstones and stomach ulcers. Good enough, at 17 I had surgery and thought I was fixed. Flash forward a few years and my issues still hadn't sorted themselves out. In and out of doctors offices, I've learned to manage it with diet.... and just accepting that this is how I am. My weight fluctuates within 10 - 15 lbs every six months, which, once again, I thought was normal.... I guess it's not. Bringing us to today. A few of my coworkers recently visited Dr. Sarah Tanner at Natural Choices Health and had nothing but positive ravings. One of my coworkers even took her entire family to get diagnosed with multiple food intolerances and vitamin deficiencies. After listening to their stories, I thought I'd give it a try - and boy am I ever glad I did. Alongside visiting a traditional family doctor, I found out that I have food intolerances that was never thought of by any of my traditional doctors, as well as two vitamin deficiencies (one of which I was told about years ago, but when I received my blood work from my new Family Doctor just weeks ago, I was told I was fine). In just a short time of cutting out what the Naturopath believed would be my intolerances, I've already seen an improvement and I'm looking forward to getting my health as a whole, on track! I've already recommended this place to other friends who are open to exploring their health in less traditional ways and I knew I had to also tell the Yelp world. *Note: Visiting a Naturopath in conjunction with traditional doctors should be your route. I would never not go to a traditional doctor, but this is just the icing on the cake :)

I am so thankful to find this new CT and undo the damage Darlene Hill did to my health and spirit. There are other 'practitioners' and self proclaimed healers...at this location however only the massage therapist Jody CHapman has had any formal academic training she is very skilled at myofascia work... the rest there are faugazie...at best. Now my spouse and I have been seeking alternative treatments across the city and we were recommended to this place by our friend. We liked Mike who specializes in osteopath treatment. He was excellent but we have our beef with the way this organization's front desk operate and how they conduct their business. I've seen some unhappy clients complaint about being charge on their credit card and were very upset with the front desk and I can't say exactly for what reason but later on, when I brought my mother for treatment, I was forced to fill in the form with my credit card number on it. That was a little much, because I did not have to do that when I came in earlier. But it told me something - and it made alot of sense as recently as last week when my wife left a message to cancel an appointment, they did not read the message and immediately charge to her credit card on the day that appointment was suppose to happen, without any prior warning!!. So I can understand now why that customer was unhappy with the front desk in one of my earlier visits as this has happened many times before (I presume) and has happen to us now. Look, its not like we're going to run away. We like Mike, so we'll come back. We constantly go for this sorts of treatment and money is not an issue for us, but to be treated this way only puts a bad taste and obviously sends the wrong message. We want to be good and loyal customers, but don't you think loyal customers should be treated better eh??

I waited approx 45 minutes before the single receptionist was done with the one customer in front of me.. I'm not sure how this kind of service makes sense to a company wanting to be efficient, but thats their own prerogative. Dr. Rabe was engaging and very friendly, and we had a good consultation. Of course since the national health service doesn't pay for these kinds of visits, the entire process was astronomically expensive. I won't get into the efficacy of homeopathic remedies because thats a tired old matter which has been settled by hundreds of research studies overseen by the brightest minds, all to come to the conclusion that the entire field is bunk science. Make that expensive bunk science. But 40% of the effectiveness of any treatment plan is attributable to the placebo effect, so I can see it's use here. It's just a very expensive way to cure yourself with plain water. They do have a wide variety of other therapies, all backed by various levels of scientific proof, though most of them are very low on the scale of legitimacy as shown by double blind studies. This doesn't mean they don't work, it just means that the more you convince yourself that it really does work, the more likely you are to experience a nice placebo effect. Acupuncture, however, is an exception to this as it has been proven to have scientific credibility. To sum it up, this really isn't a bad place.. the staff are nice and welcoming. The facility is a little cramped, but that doesn't take away from the experience really. Personally it's just not my habit to spend tons of money on something I'm not entirely sure will work or not.
