We walk into the store and it has a familiar feel. Where our Brooks Brothers Outlet would have sweaters front and center, this store had shirts for a warmer climate. And where there's a sale at any Brooks Brothers Outlet, it's on. When I'm walking on the Upper West Side of New York City, I snicker when I see folks wearing Brooks Brothers because I know they paid full price. I hate paying full price! I found a shirt that is molto sexy marked down to almost nothing. When I go to ring it up my purchase, there is additional discount for military?? She flatly said, "No, we cannot do that--you bought them yesterday." No effort to help, no options offered. I then asked if the same shoe in black was available in my size. She told me it wasn't. Apparently Spartina makes these very unique purses/pocket books for different cities all referencing their home in Daufuskie Island. When we arrived, they were also having a "going back to school" sale. We were able to find a nice gift for my niece at half price. In addition, my wife picked out a nice beach bag also at half price. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They insisted on getting my wife a newer version of the beach bag. Their signature purses/pocket books are becoming very popular throughout the country. We're quite proud to think it all originates here (which may not be true, but it's a good thought).
