My name is Sherrica Brooks. I am writing this review to warn unsuspecting people like myself. Max…read morePierre is highly unethical, unprofessional and for lack of a better word he is a thief. On 1/28/24 I authorized max to charge my card $1,604 for personal training sessions. Everything was actually ok for the first month so when February came around I decided to get a membership for $200 a month for 4-30 min sessions. I thought I could save a few dollars so decided to sign up. I gave Max my credit card and he had said to me that I could actually do 2- 1 hour sessions since I was in pretty good shape. I was ok with that. When I got home I did some calculations and realized it didn't actually make sense to do the membership. So for my following appointment after my session I said " I don't want to do the membership anymore can you please cancel it" and max said " don't worry about it you didn't do the paperwork so you don't have to cancel it" I said ok and I was fine with that. I go do surgery I go back to the gym months later, but before I even go back to the gym I text max over and over for literally weeks saying hey I wanted to finish up my package so I can be done with my sessions. Weeks later max finally send me a text that I had 6-1 hour sessions left because of the membership I had paid for. Great at that point I was only charged $200 for march. I was like great. After that text max goes back into my card and starts charging me a $200 a month fee and I knew nothing about it. I didn't catch it for months because I don't use the card and couldn't understand where the balance was coming from. After I specifically sent this man multiple text messages that I want to finish my sessions and be done he goes behind my back and bills me for a membership . I have since asked max for the paperwork that I signed for this membership but it does not exists. Now I have to take off a whole day from work to go to court to sue this man for my money back. Max Pierre is a thief and he's unprofessional. This man was either late for every session, ended the sessions early or sometimes both, he would be going to answer the phones during my paid sessions, assisting workers with fixing the treadmill, it was always something with him. all while I waited for him on my paid time. Seriously people should stay away from this gym and this man. He can't be trusted. I am going to make it my business to go on every platform I can find to warn people about this man's business practices. Please be careful out here. I am now out of $800 because of this man .and I will now have to lose a day from work to sit in court all day. When these companies ask you to write reviews when you are a new customer don't write them wait a few months to see what kind of business people really operate. FYI I spoke to a trainer that use to work there and he told me that max does this all the time people ask to cancel memberships and he does not do it. Apparently people go on vacation and months later find out this man has been stealing from them. Also if you are a personal trainer be very careful he owes a previous trainer $7000.00 for services rendered and as yet to pay.

At One2one there is always a very personalized session tailored to my specific needs and fitness goals. I love my progress and love working out with trainers who really know their trade. In my experience at the chain gyms, the trainers just dole out some tired routine they've used 1,000 times before - generic for every client. I was looking for personal training that is truly personal and tailored to me and my needs, and that's what I'm getting. I'm not running a marathon any time soon, nor will I be in any fitness competitions - I am just a dad who wants to be in shape and feel good. At Push, they work together with me to set realistic goals and I'm starting, after a little over a month now, to achieve those goals. Eddie tailors all of my workouts, takes copious notes, and focuses with intensity while I am working out at Push. Its been great and I look forward to my next session.

Swore I'd never try Crossfit but then Crossfit Harrison opened literally a 2 min walk away from me…read moreand they had a Groupon deal so my curiosity got the best of me. Classes are offered primarily in the late afternoon/evening with a couple on M & W at 6AM thrown in there to satisfy the early risers. Owner is friendly but tough in a good way - he knows the fine line between when you are struggling and need a lighter weight to do the move properly and when you are just being lazy. WoD's have been challenging but doable - the two Ive done so far have been 20 and 30 min each so between that and a warm up/cool down you get in your hour of exercise. I have never been as sore as I was after my first class and can already tell after todays class I am in for another round of soreness. I don't mind too much and I know I'm getting a good workout. People have been friendly and I felt welcome right away. There are modifications (ring rows instead of pull ups, sit ups instead of toe to bars etc) for newbies/beginners so you are always able to participate. Our WoD today had a group challenge for the last round and despite my best round my team lost and our punishment was 20 burpees for each rep we lost by - or 44 burpees for the 5 of us since we lost by 11 reps to equal 220 burpees total. Love the team atmosphere and ability to track your progress and see improvement. Now, here is where I am torn, like most Crossfit gyms is not cheap. There is definitely value in the small group training atmosphere and coach's attention though. It's $180/mo unlimited or $130/mo for 2x week classes. I could see myself doing the foundation program and getting a 10 class pass or something if they had that to go once every week or two and then just doing my own 'work in the Equinox studio when there were no classes going on.

I would highly recommend Crossfit Harrison for several reasons…read more 1) The other members come to work out hard day in and day out. This is highly motivating and is a stark contrast to other gyms in the neighborhood. 2) Will is a great trainer who balances patience and impatience very well. He will patiently take the time to correct your posture and technique when you need the help. But, if you are simply slacking he will call you out on it and you will feel like crap and try not to be a slacker ever again. 3) There is a great teamwork vibe. When I first joined the gym I knew that there was no way I would ever climb the rope, but everybody in the gym gave me pointers each time I tried. When I climbed it for the first time I felt a lot of love from the other members, even though I didn't know any of them 3 months ago 4) Crossfit Harrison is the equivalent of personal training every time you work out. I used to pay $120 an hour for personal training at equinox and now I feel the same attention every night I workout. Considering I train 5 days a week, this would have cost me thousands of dollars had I stayed at equinox. 5) Crossfit workouts are "quick". If I need to get in and out quick Will tailors my workout appropriately so that I can train for anywhere from 20 min to 1 hour. Since I work for an investment bank and have to commute to NYC every day, this is really important to me. 6) While the workouts are very challenging, they are also fun since they are never the same. Since you don't know what you are doing till you get there, it is never boring.

The the instructors are dedicated to making the Pilates experience a good one. The studio is well-equipped, and in good, clean condition. And the owner is professional and accommodating. On the rare occasions when there has been a glitch in the service provided, she has made it right. The staff here are encouraging to newcomers to Pilates, but experienced enough to take more advanced students to the next level. If you have specific physical injuries or limitations, they work with you on modifications to the exercises. I have had private lessons with many of the instructors over the years, and almost all of them have been excellent. Classes are small (8 people maximum), and the instructors do their best to offer variety so you aren't doing the same exercises every time you come. There is much hype about Pilates, with claims that it "transforms your body." I'm not sure that Pilates alone will transform your body. Diet and cardio exercise are important, too. But I can say that adding Pilates twice a week to my fitness program over the years has made a huge difference for me-- my muscle tone (especially my abs), my flexibility, my body awareness and my general fitness have all improved as a result.
