Instead of the owner and associate taking my order in person I was told to make the order online. Suggestion: Taking online orders & orders in person is good customer service and it helps boost sales.

We had been here before for the Lexington BBQ Festival, and I even wrote a review about it. Before visiting, we watched some exploration videos on YouTube about various towns in NC, and the Red Donut Shop in Lexington caught our attention. Situated downtown on the corner of Main and Second, the shop seemed like a place we definitely wanted to check out. When we arrived at the shop, we were greeted by one of the owners, Saro Vay. We bought a couple of donuts to enjoy there and take home. I had the Blueberry Fritter, which was soft and delicious. My wife got the chocolate old fashioned one, and we both thought it was excellent. What's unique about the shop is its nice seating arrangement. It's not the usual booths or tables, which we appreciated. We enjoyed our time in the air-conditioned shop away from the summer heat, along with the great donuts.

She remembered hearing that this is a beloved local donut shop, so of course we had to check it out. Free street parking was easy to find nearby, which is always a plus. When we walked in, the shop was quiet, and a young lady came out from the back to help us. We asked a few questions about what was available, but unfortunately, the interaction felt a little rushed--as though our curiosity was an inconvenience. We were genuinely interested in learning more about Red's history and offerings, so that part was a bit disappointing. On the bright side, the donuts themselves did not disappoint. My wife chose the apple fritter, which she loved--it was flavorful and fresh. I went with the donut holes, which were light, sweet, and tasty. The shop itself has a cute, small-town charm that adds to the experience. Overall, the donuts were yummy and the location is great, but the customer service could be warmer to match the reputation and nostalgia that surrounds Red's. We'd still encourage donut lovers to stop by for a sweet treat--especially if you're exploring downtown Lexington.

I was here last weekend and the whole store was packed. They were handing out the taste cups for people to taste them and some kids were just tasting one after another so I asked her, is that OK? she said ya we have it under control for the most part, we do get couple of folk like them but it's OK. So I asked, can I try one? she is like you already been here couple of times right? so I was like Yesss, and she said, relax I am just kidding. So she gave me couple taste cups to try them. I tried the one I never had before so decided to go with the new flavors. They even have a cool iPad type of unit at the checkout counter where you can enter your cell # to get couple code every week. Overall, I love all the flavors they offer, I love their taste, really dig their customer service.

I dispensed 3 different types of frozen yogurt and all were just slushy material. It even tasted like a watered down slushie from a 7-11 store. The sweet frog franchises are a much better choice for getting better taste, more flavors, and thicker consistency.
