My daughter and I stood to the counter for maybe two minutes, and a young lady came up and asked did we want to place an order?! . As my daughter is ordering her ice cream, one of the other young ladies walked up and began to take the order of two other customers that came in. Sad that cold stone has such low reviews considering I had a decent experience every time I go. My daughter and I were having a mommy and me date today and decided to get ice cream. It seemed pretty clean and of course the variety of options to choose from is overwhelming in a good way. It is slow in there so it came off that the employees didn't want to work considering the lady had to tell the other worker "they're ready" instead of him being alert but I don't really fault them on that, to me it's not a big deal. He looked at me and smiled and served us sweetly. My daughter just got cotton candy and I got the German chocolate cake creation. We got the like it size and altogether came to $12.84. Now I will say he didn't ask if I had rewards and by the time he told me the price, I had already handed my card and didn't feel like telling him at that point. But it is what it is, I'm not on that side of town enough to care too much. Now on to the taste... that German chocolate creation is to die for ! It has pecans, coconut, brownie and caramel and I am a chocolate lover so this was PERFECT! I honestly wish I could have more. I have gone to goldstone PLENTY of times. Never have I. Experienced something like this!! I can visually see roaches crawling around the ice cream and the toppings. However I gave 3 stars because the older gentleman who was working there today, Edward had a very nasty attitude with us. Later on, I called and found that Edward was actually the manager of this store. He was poorly dressed, had on regular jeans and a frumpy shirt, looked very unprepared and unprofessional for work today. I came here with my best friend because I love cold stone. When we were standing in line I can visually see the roaches crawling all over the ice cream toppings. I contemplated staying or going but then they just kept coming out of the corners. Baby roaches crawling. We decided it was so unsanitary we asked the cashier. And she said "they've had roaches and they were aware but the construction has caused them to come out". One, there was no construction being done at all near or in cold stone and two, they were baby roaches which means there is probably hundreds more. The staff are slow, the ice cream is WAY overpriced (i.e. only one free topping?), the "fresh" cones taste stale, and the portion's are either too big or too small. I love cold stone and this has amazing ice cream like all of the stores, but the service is not the best. A blonde teen was our server and looked so annoyed when we came in. My friends ordered their things and then I ordered. I told her what I wanted and she didn't ask if I wanted a cone or cup or anything. She just got a small cup and put in my ice cream, which wasn't even filled up. I was so confused, but I was fine with it. Then when she was helping each person in my group to pay, only three, she was rushing all of. She was rolling her eyes and tapping her finger nails trying to rush us. I was in line for about 25 minutes, which was extremely long considering there were only a few customers ahead of me. The manager was so frustrating to watch as he micromanaged each employee there, which severely slowed everyone down. His main focus was on what appeared to be a new hire. She was very slow, but she seemed to be the only one actually taking orders. She scooped some peanut butter to mix in some ice cream and the manager came over and berated her for getting too much and made her put some back. A little while later, someone ordered ice cream with fruit mixed in and he took over to demonstrate how to properly mix it in. As he was explaining he dropped one of the scoops on the ground and proceeded to use it on the cold slab again, before putting it right back it in the bucket of water without ever cleaning it. He was so tedious being in everyone else's business but he neglected basic health protocol with his own work. I am a customer that understands the occasional delay. I understand absenteeism and no-shows. These present opportunities to impress. Not tonight. On April 2, 2018 between 7p and 8p I stood in line with my 83 year old mother, while one employee worked tirelessly serving all the customers. Another employee puttered around doing small tasks as the line grew longer. She took time to talk to friends and others. She ignored customers in line. I assume there are guidelines on when to step in to serve based on the number of customers waiting. That did not happen. We waited nearly 40 minutes to be served. We left a tip as the one girl worked hard. It's a shame the tips are shared as this one employee deserved none of it. It was odd there were no others present except two young female employees. Very disappointing. I am in town for work and just wanted some ice cream after a long day. This location closes at 10pm. I walked in at 9:30pm and was told the marble slab part closes at 9:30pm every night and could only get plain ice cream. Even though I did not think this was the case I said no problem. I asked if I could do two flavors in a small. The girl helping me told me no initially and then decided to give me the two flavors. I would normally not give my money or business when I can detect bad service or employees that display attitude but I was tired and just wanted some ice cream. The drawers were being counted and employees were cleaning a half hour before close when I walked in. Coupled with the attitude it was clear they simply didn't want anymore customers for the night. I still said please and thank you even though I did not receive the same common courtesies. I would have been better off getting Haagen-Dazs from the grocery store. Ive been the many cold stone across the US and only at this location do they not mix your ice cream and toppings you select(even though all the pictures advertised with their signature creations are mixed). Also, you can't order two flavors in the smallest size, it has to be in a medium cup or bigger.
