A tropical country like the Philippines will never experience snow, but at Cold Layers Cafe, they found a way for us to experience it...in our mouths. Imagine a spoonful of soft, fluffy ice entering your mouth and then it quickly dissolves to a flavorful ice cream-like taste. The feeling of freshness, coolness, and stress melting away. That is what Cold Layers Cafe has to offer.
The owners invited us to try their cold offerings. Since we are a group, each of us got to order a serving, so we all chose differently. The names and flavors are creatively done and appeals to kids and adults alike. My favorite would be Meant to Be (Matcha Snow Ice with Red Beans and Cornflakes). The bitter taste of matcha blended well with sweet red beans, plus the crunchiness of the cornflakes. The horlicks flavor is very good as well.
Aside from cold desserts, they also offer hot meals like rice meals, sandwiches, and pastas. We also got the chance to try several of their dishes, but the two noteworthy ones are their Truffled Wedges with cheese sauce and their Chicken Pesto. The Wedges are slightly spiced and are very addicting, especially with the cheese sauce wrapping the potato. The Chicken Pesto has a light creamy taste with generous amount of greens. The chicken tenders were a little dry though.
A great place for family and friends to hang out. The colorful and comfy chairs are very helpful in relaxing and the warm ambiance makes it a great stay. read more
