The hood and windshield were the parts that needed to be replaced. I was told by the body shop that I would get a used hood but it would be painted. I was told the fenders would be painted to match the hood color. When I went to pick up the car neither fender was painted even though my bill showed that the work was done. I asked why they werent painted as I was told they would be and why the charges for painting them was on my bill. The cost was taken off the bill and I was told that it wasnt necessary to paint the fenders because the color matched the hoods color which was supposedly just painted. If the hood was just painted it didnt make sense that it would match 17 year old paint on the fenders. The hood was used and where there were dings you could see that touch up paint was used and the color did not match the hood color. The car is silver and there was a red spot on the hood. If the hood was freshly painted there shouldnt be a red dot or touch up paint used. It just proved to me that I was being billed for work not done. The car was taken back in to the shop for a long time to have the ding spots and the red spot buffed. I was not impressed by this because it did not change the fact that the hood didnt look freshly painted as I was billed for. I complained to my ins. co. who said they saw the before and after pictures sent to them from the body shop and were happy with the work. I guess the owner of the vehicle being unhappy with the work doesnt matter to either the body shop or the ins co. I informed my ins. co that I am never using that shop again and I will be looking for a new ins co.

I called the dealership and got an astronomical quote to get it fixed. I went to a national chain garage and they explained that the motors will have to be replaced, too, since they come as one-piece with attachments and the cost will be a little over $600. I made an appointment with Harding's for the first time. The master took apart both rear door inserts and fixed it in 1.5 hours. Cost - $100. Highly recommend: untraditionally completely honest, very personable, open, knowledgeable and will not charge you for something that you do not need. Everyone I talked with while waiting inspired confidence and professionalism. These guys are really good and honest!!! I regret I did not service my other two cars earlier. They are the best kept secret in Central Maine! Highly recommend! It is very unfortunate that we see less and less of these family owned and "reputation sensitive" places less and less: big chain employees do not care about their business reputation any longer. I also thought that they would be cleaning my door jams and that area when they were washing the car but that was still really dirty. I also thought that they would do a quick vacuum of my trunk, they didn't. The inside of the car such as my dashboard was still dusty, I don't think they even touched it. Overall the appearance of my car looked ok but when taking a closer look it wasn't a thorough job at all. I don't think I will be going back, I could have paid my boyfriend the same amount and he would have done the same quality work.
