Buzzy's Bark-N-Run Dog Camp, LLC

Buzzy's is the Best Doggy Camp on Planet Earth! We've been bringing our dogs here for years now and…read morehave had our Labrador Retrievers stay with Joan & Buzzy (Joan's Irish Setter) for as long as 3 months at a time while we have had to be away on business. We have never had a problem and feel completely comfortable leaving our 'kids' there. Joan sends us a short video of our pups each day so that we can see they are having A BALL while we are missing them from far away. Joan does a great job watching after the dogs. She is a friendly and wonderful person. I can't imagine being more comfortable leaving my dogs with anyone else. And the property is beautiful! Joan only takes in a limited number of dogs at any one time (I think the number is 6 or 8) so each dog gets plenty of attention. The sleeping quarters are clean and each dog has a large area to relax in. Outside there is a HUGE fenced in area that used to be used for horses that the dogs now use to run and play with each other. It's tough to judge a dog camp the first time you see it. Everything may look great and you may have read a review or have been referred by a friend, but you never really know. Its only on the second visit that you get a real indication as to how well the a dog camp treats its guests and you get that indication FROM YOUR DOG. Nowadays we can't get within a half mile of Buzzy's before our dog starts jumping around and singing excitedly in the back of our truck. In short, our dog LOVES to visit Buzzy's Bark-n-Run! Then at the end of the visit I think our pup is actually disappointed to see us when we show up to pick her up! The bottom line is that dogs don't want to leave Buzzy's! This may be the easiest Five Star Review I've ever written for Yelp.

We and our dog had a wonderful experience with Buzzy's Bark-N-Run Dog Camp. The owner, Joan, is…read moreknowledgeable and very caring about all the animals at the farm. Her understanding of dogs is amazing--she was able to correctly assess the personality of our Roxie within two minutes of meeting her--and when Roxie seemed stressed at night, Joan was able to find a solution that calmed her and made her a happier camper. Joan also helped to reduce our stress by giving us text updates and sending us videos of Roxie romping with other campers. After looking at other boarding places with metal crates on concrete floors in giant warehouses, seeing Buzzy's immediately felt like coming home, with fields of green grass for Roxie to run on, and chickens and donkeys for her to watch and bark at. (So, I guess Roxie did fulfill both parts of the "bark" and "run" promise of the camp.) Joan is no-nonsense, the way you want in someone caring for your loved pet...but she is also obviously in love with all the creatures on her farm. Roxie came home happy, healthy, and worn-out. We are thrilled to have found Buzzy's, and we will definitely be boarding Roxie here again.

They have been so professional, fit us in when we needed dog care, made sure our puppy was up to date on all shots and have been very thorough. We really liked that dogs over a year old need to be altered, our dog has had issues with some aggressive dogs bullying him and he's too sweet to defend himself. Hopefully, the altered pups might lessen that. We also really liked that they match temperaments and make sure personalities fit in each dog run. Did I mention that I received a text during the day on how my dog was doing? How great is that?! And, this evening, I received an email containing my pupper's report card! Paws at Play let me know how his temperament was today, what he did, who he played with, and the name of the employee who watched over him. Plus, I received about 10 photos of him - showing how much fun he had! Experience was so positive we've already booked another day!

Armadale Farm Kennel - Tonight. Completely happy, loved and exhausted from play

My dog is timid and does not usually get along well with other dogs or people (apart from myself and a select few). However, she loves the Armadale staff! It is such a reassuring feeling knowing she is being taken care of and loved on while we are away. The staff are also able to accommodate by taking her out alone and not during group play. I love that the kennel also offers grooming services that can be completed during their stay. I highly recommend the staff at Armadale!

This place is fantastic…read more After my baby was born, and my dog's temperament changed (loves the baby, loves other dogs, hates everyone else) and we struggled with finding him a place to stay that would accept him for his dumbness and awesomeness. Our vet recommended this place as a venue that was known for working well with dogs who could be a pain in the butt. (That's not to say all dogs who come here have attitude problems, most of them don't) but if your pup can be a pain with strangers, Armadale works with the dogs comfort level, making them happy and giving you a sense of relief when you have to leave them for a bit. Fast forward two years later, our dog is happy to go here, and when we do have to leave town or have visitors come over to stay, I know he's happy and in good hands. The groomers here are especially patient with my dog, know his quirks and they are always able to send him back to me clean and polished up. The staff here really treats the dogs that come for a stay with the same love and attention as their own. They have a variety of options for activities and treats for the dogs and cats, including a Sunday brunch and play time with report cards. The a la cart menu can add up, but it's nice to be able to have the choice of these options making you and your pup feel right at home.

I typically groom my own fur daughter, as the wait in our previous city could be in excess of three months wait time. The groomer did a normal shave down with poofing her head and tail. Nothing special. Her ears were also shaved off. Typically groomers can work out the curls on the ears as our girl has extremely curly fur that often gets tangled. A fifty dollar extra charge for "de-matting" was interesting as she shaved our dog down. Shaving doesn't require de-matting. I could do the same cut at home and often poodle owners shave their dogs down, no "de-matting" necessary. Lastly, the groomer mentioned her inner ears needing to be cut or plucked because they can cause issues. First time I've ever had a groomer mention this. Noted, no vet ever mentioned this being an issue. So, we asked our vet, and they stated that if a dog isn't having issues, then it's best to leave the inner ears alone, as it can cause issues from groomers cutting or plucking their ears. $233.64 dollar charge for this grooming in a little town called Wake Forest. Atlanta and Dallas did a better job and charged less for a superior groom. Needless to say, I will not be going back for grooming here.
