Pros...The water is clear, clean, and blue! Cons.... Don't go on a day when more than 1 or 2 cruise ships are in town, unless you enjoy large crowds. Rent beach chairs for $5. Each and umbrellas for $10. Get there early to get near a shade tree and skip the umbrella. My biggest complaint is the loud music which can be heard on the entire beach. If you want a party atmosphere, this is a good beach for you. If you want calm, peace, relaxation and to listen to the waves on the shore, that won't happen here. A young girl near us, that we believe to be a "local" was smoking something that wasn't nicotine, if you know what I mean. Especially with small children nearby, that was not OK. read more

This beach is beautiful and has great snorkeling near coral world. What I did not like was staff. I didn't need to rent a lawn chair and they acted offended. I ordered drink and food and it took forever. No thank you etc. Also not sure how this would be for families with small children. We were asked on several occasions if we wanted any weed or blow?!?! Made us pretty uncomfortable but if you're looking for those things on island Coki is place to go. Lol read more

What happened to Coki?! I remember the quiet, isolated beach with 1 restaurant. Now it is scary, crowded, and not a comfortable place. Locals trying to sell everything!! For some reason my first review did not stick around for too long, but anyways, This beach was one of the Highlights of my trip to St Thomas. This is the kind of beach the you can find all kinds of people. I went there mainly for snorkeling. This is one of the greatest location for snorkeling and dive. You can rent the snorkel gear for $ 5 and enjoy all the beautiful fishes that this location provides you. This beach has a stunning view, great for pictures. If you don't like to snorkel you can also buy the dog biscuit it and the fishes will come and eat right from your hands. This beach has great pros, The locals were very nice recommending places to eat. You can also rent chairs for $3, which is very cheap. Beer and food are not that expensive at all. this beach is located right next to Coral World, so if you have kids I highly recommended. I took my child to Coral World and after to Coki beach and she had so much fun. Coki has very clear water so my child loved to see the fishes swimming around her. Also, there was a lots of kids playing on the sand, so she had a blast. The local kids are really nice too as you My daughter got to play with lots of locals and their were friendly to her. it's a beach. it has white sand! Turquoise water! Plenty of space to work on your tan! One of the best spots in St Thomas for snorkel. Come as you are and rent everything. Chairs are only $5! 2 food trucks, 3 kick ass bars and a whole lot of pretty fish. You'll be snorkeling till sundown. This is also the place where you will find a lot of locals. After sunset, it's a party! Literally! The music gets loud, locals get their dance on. Highlights - having my painkiller ( insert any slushie rum based alcoholic drinks) delivered without having to lift a finger! The servers also go around with samplers! yes, samplers! The fruity tutty rum drinks are sooooo tasty. Cliché? Whatevs. When in Rome! In this case, when in St Thomas!! If you are driving, leave before it gets dark. The island's winding roads are quite scary to drive on at night. And if you are not driving, get the nice lady at the shack to call you a cab. If she can't find a cab, she'll actually have someone drive you! Be ready for an adventure if that's the case. Overall, its lovely! read more

Easily the biggest fail of the trip. Not worth the long trek out here. Bumpy unpaved roads with a lot of traffic snarling. Little free parking. When I went, the water was filled with seaweed and looked nothing like the photos. We spent a few days here as it was close to where we were staying, but ultimately we ended up leaving nearly each time because of the noise/chaos/cigarette smoking. Kind of a trashy scene to be honest, and eventually my partner and I started referring to it as "trailer park beach." The beach itself is beautiful and great for swimming, but all the litter and rowdiness ruins it. Beautiful Beach, we went during the weekday, food is plentiful however it took a while for our drinks, and it gets pretty hot so for anyone in the serving area looking for advice out here please get the drinks out first, the soon the better! There was one local that was upset with the other locals there and he was being very loud, and angry in front of many children, I would have like to have seen him removed from the area but he calm down after about an hour or so. Have been visiting the VI my entire life and lived there twice. This used to be my all-time favorite beach. Enjoyed the snorkeling, calm bay, crystal clear water, ease of access. But the scene and vibe now resembles something out of a street fair. Everyone is trying to sell you something and you get the sense that the competition is rough and you are "owned" from the moment you drive up. We had 5 people in our party. We used the beach waitress (because that seemed to be expected) to order food and drinks. We weren't new to this, so we kept track. In the end, we had extra drinks added to our bill - things we never had. We complained and it was corrected, But not without a slight dispute. Be careful. Later that day we were invited to dinner at the home of some local friends - people who have lived on islands for generations - who warned us: always pay for food and drink as they come - NEVER run a tab or things will be added. Also, the beef pate was not good. I guess if you've had a stroke and need to be on a bland diet, it would be ok. But no flavor. The saltfish pate was better. We know our pate - and it was bad. I'm sorry to insult the chef. This is the first year in 48 years I've been displeased with beef pate from Coki. Coki has always been my "must do"....but it's now last on my list. Too much hassle! Compared to most beaches in the Virgin Islands, this one you can skip. A little dirty and neighborhood doesn't look to good. Not sure if cars are safe. The one good thing we did was go on jet skis and that was fun. read more

We had the best time on coki beach-- simply because of the great view and amazing people who work there. We have a one year old and they made it so easy for us!! We stayed in point pleasant for 10 days and went to this beach every day simply because it was in 10 min walking distance, the drinks and food are great and the people who work here are so kind and helpful. (Just ask for Pearl and say Caroline sent you!!) they had a chair and umbrella set up for us every single day, even on busy days. Tips: 1. It can get crowded there when cruise ships are in town. 2. Tip well! These people are so kind and look out for you. Unlike some other touristy spots, prices are reasonable and the people are so decent, they deserve it. 3. There is lots of access to snorkeling etc if you like that stuff. 4. Tons of taxis available to and from the beach. 5. There is a full bar and restaurant there if you need... Also people running drinks and food. 6. If you go more than one day in a row, stick with your same server, they are pretty territorial-- but the niceness and sincerity makes up for it. Such a nice beach and the snorkeling is great! Bring your own snorkel gear and you will be all set. If you haven't traveled to the Caribbean before there are always going to be someone selling something. Don't fret no one is going to steal your cookies relax. Pay for chairs and umbrellas yes roughly 15-20. Don't waste money on the near by aqua park. Bring money for food and drinks about $40 is a good estimate to keep fed and hydrated in a 4 hr time frame. I truly have mixed feelings about Coki beach... The Good: 1. The fish is abundant and sealife crazy awesome. 2. Snorkeling was so fun! The Bad: 1. I felt like from the moment we drove up we were being hustled and badgered by the locals. 2. I have lived here for two years and i have always stayed clear of this beach but today we took a chance and went in for a swim. 3. Immediately after we parked some guy came to our window and charged us $5.00 to park on the street? 4. As soon as we got out of the car we were confronted by another man telling us towels were $5.00 chairs were $10.00 and snorkel were $20.00??? These guys were SHADY!!!! 5. People smoking pot all around the beach they didnt care that they were surrounded by alot of children. Mind you not just their own children but tourists kids too. 6. This beach is extremely dirty...from when you drive to this beach all the trashcans are overflowing and junk everywhere. Its just a really uncomfortable feeling. read more

I asked our hotel where to go for the best snorkel, and they recommended Coki. Note to self: Next time ask: Where to go for the best snorkel where they don't feed the fish dog biscuits. Odd. Because of the feeding, the fish will swarm you. I'm more of a "Don't feel the wild fish dog food!" kind of girl, so I found it annoying. If you want to totally relax, this isn't the place for you. You'll be asked about chairs, towels, umbrellas, drinks, food, weed, etc. If you want to party, lucky you, and welcome to Toki Beach! When we arrived, the sun went away, and we got treated to a cloudy day. Didn't make for the best snorkel, but we snorkeled for about an hour. Sergeant Major, Parrot Fish, Stoplight, Grouper, and thousands and thousands of schools of tiny fish. Note the strong current on the left side by the rocks on windy days. We struggled a bit to get back. When we returned to the beach, Shawn immediately came over, and we ordered a drink from him. We got to chatting, since it wasn't busy at all (on Mother's Day), and it started to rain. He brought us up to the bar area, and it was us, and about 40 locals. We stayed for a few drinks. No one really made us feel out of place, but we were the only ones not smoking, and several kids were chasing and poking the stray cats and hitting them with sticks, all while being encouraged to do so by their families. I found the beach small, and not too relaxing. I'm glad I went to experience it, but I won't be back. read more

This is one of the top two most popular beaches on St Thomas. On days when the cruise ships are at the island, it is absolutely jammed. The beach may seem a little sketchy due to the numerous local vendors hanging around constantly trying to sell you something. The family and I stopped here after finding out that Coral World was closed (no notice on the web site, boo!). The beach was okay, but very rocky/pebbly in a lot of parts. The abundance of fish and easy snorkeling, however, made up for that. Overall, it was a pleasant unexpected detour but doesn't rate high enough to be a destination in and of itself. Coki Beach definitely has a locals vibe which is fine and a lot more vendors hustling for a dollar than the other beaches we visited. There are ample food, snorkeling, and scuba vendors right on the beach. There are also clean bathrooms and showers available, but the water pressure on the showers wasn't enough to really get the sand off. read more

First and foremost, this is a fantastic place to snorkel. My wife and I had a great time snorkeling for hours, as the fish (rays and crabs too) are pretty close - especially if you go to the rocks. Also, this place is good for families, especially as there are rentals for various things, with local restaurants serving drinks and food directly to you at the beach which is convenient. Be aware they only take cash so don't forget to grab some before arriving here. My big complaints: Staff, Trash, and random beach "merchants". The staff from one of the local restaurants not only "forgot" to give me the correct amount of change (~$8 instead of $14) back for two drinks but also did it to multiple other couples on the beach. The trash on the beach is pretty irritating for such a beautiful beach. The trash cans were full across the beach so I can only assume people just left their trash because they felt they couldn't be bothered. Lastly, the beach "merchants" who come up with the same gimmicky overpriced jewelry. Even when you politely decline, they will sit there and continue to pressure you into buying stuff. For families this is pretty annoying when you have young kids, as a lot of the stuff can sort of pretty but of low quality. read more

We went here on February 18, 2018. Everything was beautiful, many friendly locals here to help with anything you want. But they were not too pushy, just very nice! There is no sign of hurricane damage on the beach. Easy to grab a taxi and head to the beach from the cruise port. St. Thomas is ready to give you a wonderful experience! Enjoy! read more

Coki Beach is beautiful. It's a snorkeler's dream. From the cruise port it costs $9 each way by taxi and takes about 15 min. They have snorkeling rentals available on the beach and be sure to buy the fish food! That is the secret weapon to attracting all the amazing fish. It was amazing and a bit scary to have hundreds of fish nibbling at your fingers, but well worth it. The reefs were right off the beach. The beach is a Caribbean blue and gets very crowded, so come early and stake out a spot. They have beach service with food and beer. In all, the most fish I've ever seen snorkeling anywhere. read more

This was one of the nicest beaches on St. Thomas. The water is calm, so blue and clear. If you wanna just relax in a quite environment you should go to the Magens Bay instead. People who work at Coki Beach play reggae music pretty loud whole day. Also if you plan to spend the whole day at Coki Beach, you better go there early because it gets crowded pretty early in the morning (by 10am) and it's hard to find a nice spot. If you are big fan of Beef Patties, one of the shacks (the one closer to parking) at the beach has GREAT patties. They make from scratches and tastes much better than (or I should say different from) the patties you get in NY. read more
