Reservation cancelled at the last second leaving me high and dry…read more Came up to Seattle for work and two weekends of riding, both were booked through Evo/Compass. The first weekend went great with them meeting me at the trail head and being flexible with pickup time. The day before my Saturday rental I got a cancellation notification from Compass letting me know I no longer had a reservation leaving me high and dry as no other shops had a rental available on such short notice.

It was so easy to call and reserve in advance, and you can get a reasonable price on a wide variety of bikes. They have a fairly large fleet, but tend to get busy on the weekends. If it's a smaller group, you can probably just get a day-of rental. We got an e-bike with both the throttle and pedal assist, and it really helped to tackle some of the big hills on the island. It was easy to adjust and the battery life is no joke. The rentals also came with helmets and locks, which were great when we stopped for lunch. It's located a stone's throw from the ferry terminal, and I explored the north side of the island in ~2 hours -- my only regret is not getting a longer time frame. I'll definitely be back!

With COVID still raging, I wanted to go somewhere that isn't necessarily popular and filled with…read morepeople, but still plenty charming. Cedar River Trail fit the bill perfectly. We parked at Liberty Park, which is next to the Renton library. From there, you can walk down to the trail, heading northward. The first part of the trail is a brick path, immediately adjacent to Cedar River. This portion gets flooded during the heavy rain season. On this pleasant day, we were visited by ducks and enjoyed some flowers along the way. This trail also goes pass one of the Boeing sites. If you trespass, you can get up close and personal to some 737's though I am not recommending that. :P The trail transitions to the official park portion, named Cedar River Trail Park. Normally, there are pamphlets for kids to explore nature. But with COVID, they are not leaving any papers out to grab. The area has picnic tables for your convenience. The north end of this trail is the Renton Rowing Center and the southern tip of Lake Washington. You can literally see Mercer Island in front of you, Seattle to the left, and Bellevue to the right. I loved standing here enjoying the breeze from the lake and the view. If you're lucky, there are several benches up for grabs here. Two sculptures during this walk were particularly fitting. A boat themed one with a message of we're all in this together, and a boy reading with a mask on. The round trip of my walk was just under 4 miles.

Some portions are paved and very accessible while other areas are unpaved. I haven't been on the trial in it's entirety, but the areas I have been to are maintained nicely. Like many (if not all) of the trails in Washington, there's a variety of animals and scenery to enjoy and take in while you get some exercise in. There are also a few places along the way that have those "adult playgrounds," ...I mean exercise equipment...to further enhance your workout. There are actually playgrounds as well for the kiddos to enjoy! Well, once people decide to get with the program and keep their germs to themselves. Lots of open space, wear sunscreen!

No option more than a month prior to refund my registration. Absolute cash grab and go fuck yourself if anything bad happens to you. I'm not living in this country, so I have a lot to deal with regarding medical bills and work and they put it all on me to figure out how to transfer my entry. No sympathy for riders, no sympathy for people. The reply started with OUCH! I'll never have anything to do with these people again.

The person helping take payment was told by me that I was extremely busy and it was not a good time. She was very pushy... I made the payment through a great deal of stress. And on the weekend asked to cancel.. As I did not appreciate how I was treated. I was told that I was not a member at it was not 30 days before the ride. FIRST of all the person who took my payment did not tell me the policies and second of all I could not see where there might be policies as I was not able to totally access the website due to the problems with the website...Also Cascade said that they would reimburse the extra $50.00 added on due to the past date and the price would go up.. And I have not even seen that reimbursement either. So, to say the least I will NOT be going on STP.... As I really due NOT feel comfortable in how I have been treated. And I will Never go on a Cascade Ride EVER AGAIN!

Backcountry Bicycle Trails Club has the goal to make Washington one of the best places in the…read morecountry to ride a mountain bike. Working to build and maintain trail systems, educate and train riders, and hosting group rides through out the State. They have built the I-5 Colonnade park as well as many others. I have only been on a few rides with the BBTC but all of them were really fun. I really like the web site and wiki page for finding spots to ride around the sound, and people to ride with. A great organization to volunteer for or just meet some like minded singletrack junkies.

We thought we would do a simple 2.5 miles in and out but ended up doing 5.5 in and out. The trail is paved 100% of the way. Makes it good for everyone from bikers, walkers, baby strollers, those differently abled and little kids. Lots of fun and plenty of energy food along the way (blackberry's) Enjoy this hike.

I got an electric scooter recently and have gone on a run or two on it on some bike trails. My…read morefirst run was on the Scott Pierson trail in Tacoma which ends at the Narrows Bridge. There isn't a trail that resumes right after at the bridge on the Gig Harbor side but the Cushman Trail isn't far from the bridge at all. You just cross the viaduct that goes over the toll area for the bridge , get on the road that heads west and before long you will come across a sign indicating that you are at the Cushman Trail. So arguably it's a continuation trail but probably not technically. This is a great trail as it is well maintained and is wide and has lanes for bike, walking and scooter traffic. As you head into Gig Harbor you will see a sign that you are entering the city limits of Gig Harbor. A couple of times the trail becomes part of a road or a sidewalk but the signage is great and as long as you pay attention to the signs you won't lose the trail. I was here just after the trees hit their peak with Autumn color but the Cushman Trail is great to take in in that regard. After hitting the city limits there were signs for each crossing that indicated that motorized vehicles were not allowed. So yeah. my scooter sort of fits under that. Nobody seemed to mind that though and the trail was busy. I even saw other electric scooters as well. I didn't get to ride my scooter as much as one would think because there are several pretty steep hill grades on this trail especially towards the middle to end but it was ok...I was enjoying the scenery. My scooter doesn't do hills well let alone steep ones so that's why so much walking happened for me. For the walker or the bicyclist those hill grades would be great for exercise. Cushman Trail is a very nice trail to explore much how it is with visiting the town in general.

I do like that depending on where you are, there are businesses and restaurants along the trail, as well as lots of really nice and quiet places to sit and enjoy the nature and take a break. Ok so what do I not like about this trail? All the people. This is a large and popular trail in the city with so much going on around and on it. Again, I don't jog or bike, so I'm sure other probably feel that I'm in the way and get annoyed with me. I prefer smaller and quieter trails that don't have as many people populating them. I like a more tranquil experience and for the part that I walked on, it was not. Don't let my little complaints steer you away from this great gem in the city. It may not be my favorite, but that doesn't mean that it won't be yours. Enjoy it!
