I love Coffee Tea & Empathy. It's a beautiful spot with terrific owners who are indeed kind, friendly, and welcoming. I tried their quiche, which was homemade and delicious, and their fruit salad, which was fresh and cool and sweet. Their coffee was great. I enjoyed chatting with the owners and another customer, but there were also people there working or reading quietly too. The place is super cute and great for a stay or to grab and go. I also took an ice tea and bagel for the road--both perfect. If I lived in Las Vegas or were staying in town longer, I'd hang out here for even more time. They have plenty of free parking on the street, good homemade baked goods, good air conditioning, and they've successfully created a homey place for breakfast, lunch, coffee, or tea. read more

Cute spot in a sunny location by the Castañeda! So many gems and surprises to look through (and purchase) in the front of the shop. The pastry/bakery selection looked great. I will try them next time. They have the basic coffee options, lots of teas, and lemonades. Unfortunately, this was my first visit and I didn't know to-go cups were not available and was offered mugs to go (no lids). Not ideal, so if you don't plan to enjoy your drink there, bring your own cup with a lid! We ordered 2 iced lattes but opted to skip the ice in the mugs. Such a cute little shop ran by a mother and daughter duo. I had been looking for local coffee shops to support in the area and ran across this gem. The name alone already had me intrigued. Walking inside felt warm and cozy as the decor really made the shop feel like home. The ladies were very sweet and informative about how the process worked. They do not offer to go cups but if you bring in your own cup they are happy to fill it. They also have cups you can borrow and bring back which I thought was nice. I decided to stay there and have my drink there. It was such a nice atmosphere to have a drink alone or with company. My drink was delicious and made with love. They had a variety of seating options and even an option for outside. I definitely will be returning. read more

On a second visit, my companion and I found everything even more wonderful. Mary and Kelly are a dynamic duo behind the counter, and we found out they make everything in-house: the quiches, scones, muffins, cinnamon rolls and more. The pour-over coffee is delicious, and the report on the breve my companion ordered was excellent as well. I had the chocolate chunk muffin, and she had a blueberry scone. All served in and on beautiful hand-painted crockery mugs and plates. The location across from the railroad station is tree-lined and historic, and parking is easy and plentiful. Seating includes some couch/love seat spaces, street-facing window spots, and various tables seating from two to four or five. Great place for a meeting, a gathering of friends before shopping, or just a caffeine pick-me-up. Five stars, easy. read more

What a lovely find! We were checking out the town and the vintage hotel by the train station and saw the "open" sign. Delicious food, friendly Mom and daughter that run the place, cute antiques. We had scones and the cinnamon roll, both very tasty. Coming back tomorrow morning for quiche and lattes. Highly recommend! read more

Lovely cafe we stopped in on our way from Colorado Springs to Santa Fe. Great green chile quiche, pisando (flatbread pizza) and desserts! The sample of peanut butter chocolate cookie was delicious!
