I think this is one of the best breakfast sandwiches that I have had in a really really really long time! It screamed "home cooking"! Very pleasant and simple! Definitely hit the spot! They people that work here are sincere and kind! Everyone greeted me as I walked in and it was very welcoming! I started coming here simply because it's really close to campus and in the mornings I don't typically have time to go across town to get a cheap breakfast. I will certainly be coming back. We had stayed the night in the room above, and were thrilled to stay at a very nice Airbnb with a coffee shop just below. The owner is nice, and gave us a slight discount for staying guests. I appreciated her hospitality, but as I give reviews on here about ambiance, service and food, I can't lie. While staying here, I learned that she will be remodeling the place, and hopefully when she does she considers a bit more comfortable seating rather than just the stools up against the wall, with no outlets to plug into either. There wasn't many tables available either, so this will need to be addressed. The food, besides the coffee, there was only breakfast sandwiches (already made), how nice and convenient, right? But with an exception, they were on lightly toasted Texas toast, with slightly scrambled wet eggs, and double sausage with American cheese. All of this sandwich wrapped in an aluminum foil, and placed in a warmer for the guest to grab it and eat it. As you can imagine it was one warm and gooey mess. I didn't take a picture of the sandwich, but I can tell you that as I chewed it the bread stuck to the roof of my mouth. I did order a berry turnover of sorts, but it seemed that it was just slightly baked with very little golden brown. Ultimately, this was a place of mere convenience for us, but I wouldn't have wanted to have driven from I-70 all the way into Blackwater for this breakfast.

I ordered a 12oz Iced cinnamon latte and an egg and cheese croissant. The croissant was delicious, and while I don't usually order flavored lattes unless the syrups are house-made, this one was really well balanced and the espresso came through really nice! I stopped in to read for a while, and there was plenty of seating and parking, which made it the perfect spot to relax. They even have the cutest little kids' corner tucked away, which was such a thoughtful touch (we have one on the way, so I'm always looking for this)! The young women who were behind the counter were so sweet, and the whole shop had such a welcoming/aesthetic atmosphere. They also sell adorable merch, local honey, and their own espresso beans, which I always love seeing in a local café.
