It's a meat market.. there is no Ambiance! lol! Quality, fresh meat. Pricy but where isn't it and I believe you get what you pay for. The meat is fresh and ready for the freezer if you want. The Butcher shop - Lead by Chris and Bill, are in my opinion the best in the country! I have known Chis and Bill since 2007, (when we moved from San Diego - after retiring from the Marine Corps). I have been fortunate enough to be able to frequent Butcher Shops throughout the United States, and feel this establishment is by far the best organized. Everyone is ALWAYS friendly and ensure people are taken care. Unfortunately, we moved from the lake in 2018. I have hunted around the Lake area during Turkey and Deer seasons since 2007, as i still do. I come back 2 - 3 times a year, and always stop by the Butcher shop to purchases meats, Twice Baked potatoes, Meat Sticks, Etc. Its always a pleasure to come back to the Lake area and visit the Butcher Shop.!!!!! read more

It was a "Pure Pleasure" doing business with The Butcher Shop for a 2022 Memorial Day Weekend Celebration. Bill Killbrew sourced and prepared 22 Chickens (44 Halves) for me, provided several Side Dishes, and Desserts at a very fair price. All I had to do was smoke the Chicken for a huge success. The whole crew at The Butcher Shop are all about Customer Service, with a Smile and Great Product!!! I'll be a Customer for a Long Time. Steaks are Great, Twice Baked Potatoes are Awesome, Specialty Rubs & Sauces are Good, prepared Sides/Desserts were off the Chart!!!! **UPDATE*** 8/2018 I wish I could give MORE stars. My kids go to the local elementary school and I found out recently that this small-town butcher shop delivers BIG support of the school and community. There's an abundance of low income students in the district and the owners of the Butcher shop have apparently recognized that and have offered on several occasions to donate food for fundraisers and families. I now tell everyone, EVERYONE, about this place. The Camdenton Butcher shop makes my heart full. 5/2018 I usually go to a butcher closer to my home and have for years out of convenience. Recently though, several friends recommended that I try The Butcher Shop in Camdenton. Upon walking through the door, I was immediately greeted by a guy behind the counter. I really wasn't sure what I wanted but the gentleman was patient and waited for me to make a decision. At least 5 other customers walked in while I browsed their very impressive meat selection. I waved each customer ahead of me and allowed them to pick their choices out while I continued to attempt to make a decision. The reason it was tough to make a decision is because ALL of the meats are fresh at this place (not what I'm used to seeing at the place I normally go). The cuts are top notch and the butcher is willing to make a new cut if you're wanting something else. I selected six bacon-wrapped filets, 6 chicken cordon bleu's, and two ribeyes. I checked out their refrigerators where they had premade side items and ended up buying a vegetable mixture and a potato casserole. The next two nights, my guests visiting me at my house were RAVING about the food. They couldn't believe how tender and juicy the meats were and they were surprised to learn that our delicious sides were made by our butcher shop. The Camdenton Butcher Shop had our 4 wonderful ribeyes cut & ready for Saturday lake grilling. Closes at 2:00 got in just in time. Wonderful local service & a host of complimentary condiments. Wish we had more lake days to get more meat. This place is iconic- it's worth the drive, bring a cooler & load up! Hot fire 4 minutes on each side. Then under foil let it rest for a few minutes while you finish the green veggies. Salt & pepper all you need, skip the other ribs & spices- go natural. read more

Love this place. Meat and service is always excellent. Recently called for a bone in prime ribeye roast. They cut the bones off and reapplied so it was easy to slice, seasoned it and had it ready to go within a couple of hours. The roast was amazingly tender. Got rave reviews from my guests. read more

Absolutely love this place! I only buy my hamburger from here, it is best I have ever had! The Flat Iron Steaks are like no other, I have tried several other places and my husband won't eat them, he is spoiled on the Butcher Shop! It's the same way with the Pork Steaks, theirs are the best! Last night I made their stuffed Chicken Breasts, they were tender, juicy and tasty! They also have a variety of homemade meals made from scratch, like several kinds of Lasagna, Pizza on their freshly baked bread, Chicken Pot Pies and so on! Also they make their own deli salads and dips, and have a variety of Lunch Meats! So much more I can't mention everything! To top it all off, everyone there is so friendly and helpful. We spent the weekend in Osage Beach celebrating the 60th birthday of my Dad & Uncle - we ordered smoked turkey, chicken wings and brisket from the butcher shop to be delivered to our vacation home - we had no idea what to expect and my goodness, it was delicious - while all the meat was fantastic, the winner was the smoked turkey and gravy - we did the gravy on the side - the customer service was top notch and they delivered the food hot and 5 min early! Once I returned home they called to ask about our experience which I shared as being so wonderful that we'd be ordering during our Christmas visit to the Ozarks - don't miss out on this jewel of a place - I can't wait to try more of their food in December!! read more

The smoked meats that come out of this little joint are like heaven! We went here to taste what they had to see if we wanted to use then as our wedding caterers and they were so helpful and most importantly delicious! The wings are smoked and amazing. The brisket is tender and juicy. The stars of the entire show however are the grillers!! Steak and cheese wrapped in bacon and then grilled to perfection! Called in on New Year's Eve and they had already closed but the owner told us to come in anyway. He laid out an excellent choice of steaks and we went with ribeyes. He marinated them and put them in a vacuum sealed bag. They turned out to be great cuts with tons of flavor and the marinade was very good. Will definitely be back, the homemade garlic bread was a great compliment to the steaks. read more

Aside from their meat and deli counter which is always top notch, The Butcher Shop has the best heat-n-serve fish, ribs, bbq and more. Not quite what comes to mind when you think of wedding caterers! We had the Butcher Shop cater our wedding at Casa de Loco Winery in Sept 2015. We specifically wanted to do a "Southern BBQ" type theme with our wedding. Most of our guests would be from Wisconsin (and so were we, but live in STL now), and if you're from WI, this is "the south", which means BBQ. (Living in STL, I know this area doesn't consider themselves to be "the south".) We tried out other BBQ caterers in the area, but found Butcher Shop to be best - and it really is a butcher shop! I thought it a gamble to go BBQ with a wedding. Was really nervous people would dislike it - but everyone loved it! We ordered enough food for just over 100 people, but only had just over 50 people - we miscounted when we ordered, we could have corrected it, but decided not too - and very glad we didn't! The problem wasn't that there wouldn't have been enough food - everyone loved the food so much that Most people went up for seconds. And later in the night people even back for thirds (drunken munchies!). We paid the extra, which wasn't a lot, to have the Butcher Shop provide the buffet style service, setup, & cleanup. The pricing for the food itself was unbelievably good in my opinion. We didn't even notice or see them setting up. They were on time. Food was warm & delicious. We did have some leftovers, which they left for us. Even now, 6 months later, we still have guests (one from Texas, that's like BBQ capital!) talking about how much they liked the food and that they even want to go back to that area to go there again! Definitely worth a stop in here - whether you're looking for caterers or just to take a good steak home to make on your grill. read more

I love this little shop! I stop by every time I visit my mom, who lives in Camdenton, and get something. The jerky (beef, buffalo, and turkey) is the best I ever have eaten, and the flatiron steaks are delicious. Also, I bought some jerky for my son in Afghanistan and they gave me a discount because it was going to a service member. He said, "It's the least we can do after all they're doing for us."
