The care my child received by a "substitute" doctors and the nursing safe was INHUMANE. he was 1 year and there for shots , they had GOUR nurses masked up and come hold down my child and wouldn't allow me to be one of the for while my child screamed for me. There a very obvious language barrier with a majority of the doctors there. As well as the entire building smells like weed. Horrific. This place sucks......I checked into urgent care at 9am everyone has been seen that was before me and after me......it is now 12:46 and I keep getting told it's 1 person in front of me. An hour ago I was told 4 people and 5-6 people went inside and I've not been called. This clinic needs to do better or hurry up and open the other location. They don't care that we are waiting and in pain. I'm here for an head injury and they don't care. I've ask to speak with someone and I have not gotten anyone yet. The Doctors are great after waiting more than couple of hours to be seen. The people answering phone need manners. Have to wait 40 min for them to pick up then they put you on hold & hang up at you. What kind of crap is that. Had to call again & waited same amount of time same lady pick up I ask if they can do virtual appointment since my mom was seen there 2 days ago & has Covid is an elderly and feeling really sick or if I can speak to nurse practitioner & line went silent & nobody pick up. Location prescribed the wrong prescription in my glasses. Absurd to not have proper attention when dealing with people eyesight.

I needed to make an appt with someone, in order to be cleared for eye surgery, to be done elsewhere. The eye surgery place implied that I needed an 'internal medicine' type doc, or someone that would be able to give me a 'general physical'...to say that I'd be ok for surgery. So I called Codman Square, telling them I was looking for a FEMALE doctor and who could give me a checkup for a pre-surgery clearance. We set the appointment, and then a few days prior, I get an automated message to confirm my supposed 'telehealth' (or, VIRTUAL) doctor's appointment. Problem is, I had made it very clear to them that I needed an IN-PERSON appointment....that this was for surgery pre-clearance. (Last I heard, a doctor cannot check your pulse over a virtual appointment... ;) ) So I called them back, and they said the doc I wanted to see had no availability for an in-person appointment, and before my surgery date. So I asked that they look for a different female doctor. They found one, set up a date for an IN PERSON visit, and the day before I called to confirm all was good. They said it was. So I show up for my appointment. The place didn't appear to be crazy busy or anything. I had to wait about FIFTY MINUTES for the doctor to appear. Ends up...they gave me a MALE doctor. I seriously love the Codman Square X Clinic & the people who work here! It used to be close to my apartment but even now that I've moved an hour away, I still make the drive to come here because I prefer it over anywhere else. I love that they offer walk-ins since I'm not a planner. Plus everyone is so nice, from the front desk people to the people who check you in to the NPs to the lab techs. I specifically had a wonderful experience with an NP (her name was Johnna I think? Sorry if I got that wrong!). She was so kind & obviously knowledgeable. She answered all of my questions thoroughly, telling me there are no stupid questions, & took the time to explain everything. Went to urgent care and the women at the urgent care desk with braids says it's a 3 hour wait and try come back in a hour . She knows that they close in a hour for lunch break but fails to mention that. I come back in a hour and then have to wait another hour from the time that I was suppose to come back. I end up waiting over an hour extra because she is ignorant. No reason to give completely inaccurate wait times when you know the whole schedule . If you know lunch is in an hour why say 3 hours? Do you not want people to get urgent care or hate your job? Why completely lie. Then the doctor hast to call other doctors to get advice. They don't even know what they're talking about and don't have an expert in a specific field just on the job training. Total waste of time. read more

I have been a patient there for some time. My first doctor was ok and there wasn't an issue regarding having rx refill authorized through the system. But the first doctor left and I was placed under another doc there. Having rx refill authorized has been horrible. Every time you request you have to wait at least 72 hrs. In my case, I have tried to contact them several times and it was more than 2 weeks with nothing got done. That caused me to miss my dosage and was dangerous to my health. I hope them get a LAWSUIT for being NEGLIGENT soon. read more

After calling the Dorchester House and being told I'd have to wait 6 weeks for an appointment, and discussing with them that I was ill and needed to see someone soon, they said they partner with the Codman Square Health Center, and they had a walk-in Urgent Care clinic. I called to the clinic to see how busy they were and went on down. Since I went during the day, it was super easy to find street parking just across the street. They do have a parking lot in front of the building but it was full. It's Dorchester - so most people would think extremely ghetto, correct? Not true. Yes, some of the people walking through the door are not the 9-5 businessmen/women of downtown Boston, and yes, maybe a little more attitude than those same businessmen/women - but extremely ghetto... no. I saw Dr. Christine Farrell-Riley and she was very nice. She sat down with me and listened to my symptoms... double checked all of the information in the computer about my vitals and what not that the nurses took from me, and then examined me and prescribed some antibiotics. In the end, I'd say if you live in the Dorchester neighborhoods and you need to get in somewhere soon - go to the Urgent Care here. I tested for covid around 8/27 at this clinic. This place is a mess, long story short O waited a week for covid results from these clowns. At that point, they could have kept it themselves since I had no use for their help in the end. I waited the week and went to bmc to get tested, and got the results from them the same day. This place has horrible service majority of the time. Previously, I've waited for over 45 min to be seen after arriving earlier than the scheduled appointment time. If I didn't speak up then I don't think they would've called us in only to tell us my son was not supposed to be scheduled yet. Therefore we needed to reschedule. Today, specifically, I went in with my son again for the appointment I scheduled well in advance. He was told that his appointment with the Dr. was canceled but that he has another appointment on Tuesday with his regular Dr. When I asked who canceled and why, no one knew. Not only did no one call to notify us but they took it upon themselves to reschedule to a very inconvenient. So I wasted my time once again. This place is a complete joke. Nothing but unprofessionals. My wife went to get tested for COVID19. She was given the swab to do herself where she was told to swab her nose. From my understanding a medical "professional" places the swab through the nose first, then it is pushed to the back of your throat. The swab is then rotated to collect any viral specimens that are usually found in that section. Last time I check, my wife is not a Doctor or a registered nurse and should not be administrating the test herself. My old dentist wanted to do a root canal on a tooth of mine, but when I went to see Dr. Inje Ham, she took the time and fixed the tooth with a cavity fill instead--not a temporary one but a permanent one. It's been over a year now and the tooth is doing great. So refreshing to find a dentist who does what is best for the patient and not looking to take advantage of them. I am at Codman Square Health Center right now and I am disappointed in their care of patients. I just fell on their stairs it was greasy. Their was no sign their to tell patient to be careful. I hurt my left side and leg. The security guard saw me fall because he was going up the stairs as I fell down the stairs. I went to their urgent care secretary and I told her what happened, the guard also told them that I fell. Instead of helping me and trying to find out what happened or where I am hurting. She was rude and callous and told me with out my health insurance information they were not going to see me, A nurse came out of urgent care area and reiterated what the secretary told me. The security guard did not ask me my name or any of my information. I am upset about their lack of understanding for what happened. They did not apologize and was not compassionate. read more

General Practice Dr Schlotterbeck is a basic doctor, go to her for a cold or cough, she'll fix you right up....other than the basic care GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! Also Mimi is the only person in Behavioral Health...they couldn't find anyone else to cover the person who left so she got chosen even though she's not qualified...I've waited 2 business days and neither returned my call. They don't listen to you, they cut you off bc they're in a hurry to get rid of you....thinking they know better and don't even try to pretend they care. This health center is #1 for me their doctors are very professional, Friendly and down to health. This is the only health center where I feel at home in expressing myself without being mocked or ashamed. My first doctor was Dr Laural grabber who later transferred to another state to live closer to her aged parent. She was awesome Then I got pregnant and had another doctor .Doctor Anuka Das, she is an angel on earth. She is smart, very caring selfless and professional. She prepares me ahead of what to expect during my pregnancy and that made me to be on top of everything happening in each stage She called me on her spare time for any updates . While I was admitted she will always stopped by after closing to check on me on the days she is at the hospital where I was admitted. She is simply the best, I am blessed and lucky to have her be my Doctor pls go to her she is awesome. Dangerously incompetent office staff. Don't get me wrong, every doctor I've seen has been great. I've seen several doctors in the 7 years that I've been going here. It's the office staff that's the problem. I can handle that they aren't friendly or professional. I've come to accept that I will be left waiting long periods of time for my scheduled appointment that I had to schedule 6 weeks in advance. I even shook off the times that I showed up for appointments that they lost due to "the new computer system" which has either been replaced multiple times or has been "new" for 5 years. What I cannot accept is having to call two or three times to get prescriptions refilled, especially when it's the prescriptions that let me breathe. Then to top it off, when they finally DO call in my prescriptions, they send them to a pharmacy I haven't used in 5 years! read more

If you can stand utter incompetency and lack of professionalism then Codman Center is for you. This center creates more ills than it provides "care". Incomplete registrations, doctors forgetting that one still is not discharged after being an hour in a room, call center staff forwarding your phone call to a dead end because it's 5pm and they don't want to spend the extra time to put you through to the right department, doctors late for appointments taken weeks in advance, lack of accountability from the customer service supervisor... And the list goes on... This place is an embarrassment to the Community in Dorchester. or perhaps it is what Dorchester best deserves. The Codman Square Heathcare Center has taken good care of me during my time of underemployment when I was on Commonwealth Care. Now I'm on Blue Cross Blue Shield through my new job (and yes, CSHC accepts Blue Cross). Actually, more accurately, my doctor, Dr. Adelstein has taken excellent care of me. Adelstein is a good match for me because we both look towards both Eastern and Western medicine for solutions to medical issues. I suffer from a chronic pain condition, and previous doctors I have seen have been quick to prescribe painkillers and muscle relaxants to get me out the door. I do still need these medications after suffering for almost a year and a half now, but at least I am now functional and can maintain employment. Dr. Adelstein has tried to help me find the cause of my chronic pain. The path to figuring it out was difficult, but with her help (and the help of several massage therapists) I believe I finally have a solution to get me off medication. More broadly about Codman Sq. Healthcare Cen: they have a lab on site so if you need blood/urine testing they can take care of that. They have mental health specialists on site. They can communicate with a variety of people in their native languages (Spanish, Creole, & more.) They even have a gym and pool and such! They're really about addressing your health as a concept that requires daily attention. This center mainly serves a high-need community. It's often very busy, overcrowded, and somewhat disorganized. But the entire staff: receptionists, nurses, clinicians, and doctors alike are working with clients who REALLY need help. Who are often on Commonwealth Care, or Mass Health. The Codman Square Healthcare Center can really not be praised enough for doing what they do! Remember this place when and if you are thinking of donating money to a worthy cause. Thanks! read more

When I went to urgent care after spending 4 hours at bwh and had to leave. At 830 a.m. staff was freindly. There was a sign that said if you have trouble breathing tell the secretary I did Was put I a room immediatley! ! As I have asthma and allergies. And had a sinus infection . Nurse put in my prescriptions fast!! Gave a treatment with a nebulizer immediately and a note for work. She was freindly fast and efficient! Joan Delanay. Took good care of me. I was out in less than 45 mins. She diagnosed me so well I was sick and clogged up for a week. The medication had no side effects and I was better in less then 4 days. And back to work. I WOULD CHOOSE THIS CLINIC OVER ANY OF THESE BIG HOSPITAL TRIAGES. BWH THE NIGHT BEFORE MADE ME wait 4 HOURS AND I COULD NOT BREATH. I've lived in four states in five years and this is the best urgent care I have seen by a long shot. They get you in fast and the doctors are very friendly, professional, and thorough. I've now been there twice and both visits have been exceptional. They are on the #23 bus line and open until 9 so they are easy to reach. They also have a pharmacy on site so you don't have to run around when you are feeling horrible. This place should be the model for urgent care. read more

A medical records request was submitted to the health center on January 14, 2019 by an insurance company as part of a long term disability claim I had filed. I was notified by the insurance agency that, as of February 22, 2019, these records have not been received, that the deadline for submission is March 8, 2019 or my claim would be dismissed. I filed a complaint with the health center, and received a call today from the health center explaining that the medical records requests were being handled by an outside agency, and to contact them on the status. I contacted the agency, and was told that the request submitted on January 14th was "still being processed"??? I am beyond annoyed by this !!! read more

I went to the Codman Square Dental office. They were excellent. I had the best teeth cleaning of my life. The dentist was excellent -- better than the high cost dentists I had been going to the majority of my life. This dentist told me things about my teeth that no other dentist had ever mentioned -- like I brush my teeth too hard and my gums were receding, which is why I have chronic pain. No only that, but the people who work at the center seem to really care about their patients. They go above and beyond. The only negatives are limited parking and the dental appointments usually can't all be done on the same day, ex: one appointment for dentist check up, the next for cleaning, another for any work to be done. However, the center did go out of their way to accomadate me and did two of my three appointments on the same day. read more

HATE!!!! This place is unorganized and ran by mostly ignorant people. They r rude and have bad attitude. My 9 month old daughter, her father and I were there for a check up, arriving at 4:15 seeing her appointment was at 4:30. After her appointment the her doctor told us she needed to get blood drawn at the lab so we headed over there. The lab is in the same building. When it was time for us to be seen the lady stuck my daughter in the arm and proceeded to twist the needle in her arm. I told her she was doing it to hard and she continued to tell me that's how you get the blood going. As she said that she jabs the needle and near vertically in her arm. At this point I tell her to remove the needle and get away from my child. Let's just say my baby left with a bruised arm and cried herself to sleep. I recommend if you do go to this clinic make sure that the heavyset Haitian lady doesn't touch your child.... read more

Codman Square health center is horrible! They never have any updated information after my family and I have gone there on numerous occasions and updated my information. They always have new reps and they have an old and new system that always kicks out the wrong information. They contacted me on behalf of my husband which is PHI when they had his contact number and never attempted to contact him. When I've taken my son, the insurance is NEVER updated. someone really needs to take over, that actually knows what they are doing. read more

So far I can't get past the Lobby, I was the third person to sign in, and I have been here 1 hour and 20 minutes. If I had know about the front desk issues I never would have come here. I use Urgent care to address immediate medical issues, not routine primary care or true emergencies. I will figure out where Promptcare is located in Boston and go there next time, being conveniently located is no help if it takes a large portion of my day to be treated.
