My only concern was that my son had on another child's dirty bib when they posted a picture in the Procare app. Although the app is excellent, I wish they had live cameras like some surrounding daycares. Maybe it's a good thing that they don't because I would drive myself crazy checking it too often, and I understand parents not wanting other parents to have video access to their child. I also like how they offer a discount if you pay monthly instead of weekly. After touring 5-7 other daycares, I realized Kid City was the only center with that option. They knew our name and face on the 2nd day, and my son's teacher is very hands-on when it comes to his milestones while also allowing him to be independent.

Honestly, how is this even legal? Do they have a maximum capacity, or is it just a free-for-all until the building bursts at the seams? We only came because of a birthday party, and trust me, I would never willingly choose this place. The disgust hit me the second I walked in. Two trash cans overflowing right at the entrance, garbage spilling onto the floor, and people smoking all over the front area...great first impression. Inside, two employees were attempting to check people in while a line snaked across the lobby. It was a weekend. Two staff members? Really? Efficiency is clearly not a priority. We were sent to the party room, and the moment I stepped in, my shoes stuck to the floor. Absolutely vile. My son had to put on grippy socks, and even then, there was no way I was letting his bare feet touch that surface. It made me wonder do they actually clean these rooms between parties, because this room felt like a health hazard. The whole place is dimly lit, packed with kids from toddlers to teenagers sprinting in every direction. I'd bet money they have daily collisions serious enough to require a medic. Yes, they have everything...trampolines, a ball pit (which I wouldn't dare let my son in - who knows what's living in there), obstacle courses, a zipline, race cars, vending machines, arcade games...you name it. And that's exactly the problem. It's sensory overload in a building that feels like it's held together by filth and grime. Staff whistles were blowing nonstop, adding to the already frantic atmosphere. I don't know what admission costs, and I didn't bother checking concession prices, but what I can tell you is that the place reeks of filth. You feel it the moment you walk in. I will never step foot in this petri dish again. GROSS!! If this kind of environment is your thing, more power to you. But for me? Never. Again. Never!

The Planned Development is proposed to include office, continuing care retirement center, retail, condominiums, townhomes and apartments. As for now, the playgrounds are AMAZING! One playground is for younger kids and one is for older kids. Both are shaded! There is a covered pavilion between the two with picnic tables. Next to the playground is an amphitheater. (Not sure what it will be used for just yet but it looks super neat!) Along the lake is a walking/biking trail. On a windy day, the fountain in the lake will provide a refreshing mist. It will definitely be cool to watch this area transform over time. Like I said, right now, this is literally in the middle of nowhere. Only negative is that the only trash can near the playground is overflowing with garbage. My guess is that because this place is so secluded, trash emptying might be neglected. All in all, a great park!!

The Ivy District is a mixed-use project which will eventually be home to offices, apartments, retail centers, along with this public park. Unfortunately, it seems that there have been some delays including legal obstacles in project development and it's unclear what the timeline of finishing will look like. That being said, the public park portion of the development is currently open! There is some work to do - There is no official parking lot (parallel parking on the street is available), trash cans, or working restrooms yet. The park includes a children's playground, a few manmade lakes complete with lit up fountains, and surrounding trails that start around the lake and eventually branch off into woods. There is even a pedestrian bridge that connects to Shadow Creek Ranch and allows you to visit the Shadow Creek Nature Trail. We spent about 30 minutes enjoying the trails at sunset. As residents of the area, we think this park is just what Pearland needs and hope it will be completed soon!
