Hot Fired Arts - Pottery figurines available to paint

When you first walk in you are greeted and presented with the various projects that the shop has to offer. After selecting pottery painting, canvas painting, or glass fusing you are explained the next steps. We each selected two objects to paint and spent the afternoon in the studio painting away. We go pick up our art in 10 days which is the processing time. The shop does have a strict 60 day policy to pickup within or your art is thrown out. A fun and unique experience!

Instructions were clear, supplies were all we needed and the instructor took time to help my husband when he fell behind (I mean, took his time). The space was set well for the crowd, and there was enough room that we weren't bumping elbows. Bring your own drink-- stop by a local brewery on the way or visit the Dunkin' next door if that's more your speed. As a comparison, this is much more of an art class than a Paint Nite experience, in my opinion. That was totally fine for us, as we planned more for the evening. The general selection of ceramics was a bit smaller than other local places, but they offer a variety of stuff to choose from. In addition to the adult paint nights, they also offer kids classes (two hours, drop off). We'll be back.

It's disappointing, because as a mom and toddler, we have to pay $94 a month for the family plan (it's cheaper for a single parent and child over the age of 5), and then all that is offered is a single swim class for kids over 6 months, then a single gym class for kids over 18 months. It's not until 2 that you really can start getting use out of more of the classes. We do love the pool. Open swim times are very limited, so it can be tough to get there. Then if you are with a child under 18 who needs help, you are stuck using the children's locker room. The showers take 5 minutes to get warm, and the swim team kids and their colorful conversations disgust me. I would love to have a separate locker room for young children from the one for preteens! I am happy with the fun zone. If your child is independent, they will have a great time in there. Though my child loves the pool, he cries at having to walk away from the fun zone to get there. There are days and times that are better to be in there, but overall I love letting him go in to play. The open gym is great! I hate that there is an extra fee to use it though. It really should be included in your membership. That and the pool is all that is available to toddlers. It would be like having to pay an extra $3 each time an adult wanted to go into the gym and workout AFTER paying for the membership. It's expensive, there is a lot to be desired, but there isn't anything better in Frederick.

I am ending my membership as I fear entry into this facility. It is sad and unfathomable that the YMCA appears unable to hire staff with simple customer service skills. So, I got to check out the grounds around the main building before the bride and groom arrived for rehearsal. They have a wonderful wandering Garden with Fountains and water features. In addition to the new main structure, they have Historical buildings and Summer camps.

Howard County Conservancy…read more We'll walk you to see the biggest beaver dam in Howard County Conservancy. Are you excited? Let's walk with us to the Wetlands trail! First you walk from the parking lot to the old barn, you can see it's located by the entrance roadside, and once you get there, walk down the trail, and keep going. You'll be in sort of intersection on your left but we won't turn left here, keep walking and you'll see a walking path *watch on your right with a (ruined) stone gate alike. Walk across the stone gate, turn left and walk for around 10-15 foot steps and turn right, and keep walking until you'll see a sign of small pond on your left, then you're on the right path. You can walk closer to the pond through the short path on your left (that's what we did) and watched any movement around the water, and we found a turtle from here! Or, you can continue walking down the previous path until you see a bridge on your left. From the bridge, you'll see the biggest beaver dam was created along the water line. How cool is that? Another coolest thing was, we bumped into THE BEAVER!! Aaaahhhh!?! Yeeessss!?! We explored and walked back to the trail and found wineberries patch and mulbery tree, so we stopped there and enjoy the berries! *check your left while walking up the hill. Along the walk, we also found A Story Walk, a Demonstration Garden next to Nature Play Scene, a sleeping Eastern Screech Owl, goats house and chickens house. That's a wrap for our good hike today! It was good since the ground was dry and allowed us to explore more around the wetlands 10520 Old Frederick Rd, Woodstock, MD 21163 Daily 9AM-3PM, Sunday Closed inside the Gudelesky Environmental Education Center, with water fountains next to it. some stone trails/path in Clark Honor Garden are accessible both for strollers and wheelchairs. They hold monthly open leadline classes for children up to five years old…read more The leadline class is $5 per child and they take turns being led around the ring on the different horses and ponies. My daughter loved it the first time we went, and I was so happy to get the opportunity to expose her to a new experience and see the transformation from completely hysterical and freaked out to really enjoying herself. Of course for about a week afterwards, I had to endure questions like "Will we see Muffin, Rollo, and Peanut tomorrow?" and "Can you buy me Rollo for my backyard?" and "Why can't I have a horsey that is little just like me?" If you have a pre-schooler- this an hour a month of fun. I can't review the other aspects of the stable- since this is all I've done. PS: If you are going for the first time, you have to take a right at a big green sign into a long hidden driveway. You won't actually see 13431 on the side of the road.

I grew up riding at barns where the horses were already tacked up and you just hopped on for the lesson. KVS offers something for all ages, ability, and ambition. Cannot recommend this barn enough.
