Signed up for a THREE month "trial period" for $99 in September and the gentleman explained it like…read moreI'd be charged after my three month period on a monthly basis if we chose to continue. I was even sent an email stating the my initial period will end on 12/25 after which my subscription will be renewed on a month to month basis. Lo and behold, I was charged ONE month into my initial period and when talking to someone today, I was told that it would have costed 400 something otherwise. None of that makes any sense and it's pretty sh*tty for a small business to do in such times like these. If my son liked this and wanted to continue, I would have gladly continued after the three month initial period but this type of shady business practice completely turns me off from this company. PARENTS, BEWARE!!!! This place is so scammy and I'd rather look for a private coding tutor. adding a snippet of the email sent to me. Any normal person would read this is after the three month period, I would be charged. *update a bit after: Getting it refunded but still losing the $99 for the initial period and he's gone to ONE class. Can't be mad about it, only upset with myself for being duped.

Scheduling each hour is flexible, which I love, because it's easy to schedule around the family's other activities. The staff is friendly and helpful, and my son is always learning something new. My son started off learning Scratch, then Java Script, then Lua, and now he programming in C#/Unity. My son also attends multiple weeks of Summer camp each year (with weekly topics such as Roblox Game Development, Minecraft Modding, and Lego Robotics). My son has food allergies, but the staff is really careful, so I always feel comfortable with him there. Coding is such an important skill for my son's future. I am so glad we found Code Ninjas!

My daughter went to the program last summer and had a good experience and so we signed her up for…read morethis summer. We're quite disappointed in this year's experience so far. On Monday and Tuesday, the lady at the front desk seemed confused and/or was texting on her phone. Yesterday, we were 2min early and she told us to have a seat in the front because she didn't realize the students had already been called into the class. We noticed that and then she said OK yeah go on back. On both days, I walked my daughter into the class and no Sensei greeted her. There was a female sensei, and she was standing against the wall with her arms behind her back, and I sat there for several minutes and I never saw her approach any of the kids. Today, at drop off, there was no one at the front desk. That's a safety concern. I walked my daughter into the classroom and again, no one greeted her and one Sensei was texting on his phone. It just seems as if the program has been left without adequate supervision and no courtesy greetings or anything acknowledging the kids or offering assistance when they first sit down. It's basically like my kid is just there to sit on the computer by herself for three hours. I asked her if the senseis offer help during the course and she said ....a couple of times. My expectation is definitely more than a couple of times. I wanted to share that feedback with you in case you are the owner or franchisee. Disappointed,

As a Freshman in highschool she is already highly focused on becoming a Software Engineer. This is thanks to the amazing experience she had at CodeNinjas. CodeNinjas Ashburn owners and staff are extremely friendly, and their program is effective. I highly recommend that you have your child enrolled in elementary school, and continue on through getting their black belt!

Code Ninjas is a neat concept for kids ages 7 to 14 years old. They call the main learning center…read morethe "Dojo" where the kids will learn coding and brain teasers. Kimberly and Ramone definitely were helpful in answering any questions I had of enrolling my 7 year old son into the program. It definitely allows kids to set goals and achieve them by coding in Java and C+ to create their own video games while learning other skills such as mathematics, problem solving skills, while having fun. As the child enters the facility, they log in with their color coded wrist bands, put on hand sanitizer and Kim at the front desk does a temperature check before the kids enter the "Dojo." The color coded wrist band indicates the program and the level the child starts at and they will advance once they hit certain levels of achievement. There is a specific website with a user name and passcode that parents can check the progress of their child at each class. Every child usually starts at the white wrist band and can work their way up to black wrist band for more advanced training. The classroom size is a maximum for 12 participants in which you register before each class online. The desks and stations are at least 6 feet apart with social distancing enforced. They do offer virtual lessons as well. The sensei will usually provide an update and progress of your child at the end of the class. Parents can either stay onsite and observe through the "fish bowl" or glass enclosed classroom or can leave and drop off their child to run an errand. My son definitely enjoys his class and can't wait to go back.

This weeks Minecraft coding camp has been wonderful. So much so, my son doesn't want to leave by the end of the day. We are considering the drop in program so he can continue his fun throughout the year. There are some stand out teachers here that really care about the kids and try their best. *My advice would be if you have a special needs child to call ahead of time and talk things out with Mike( owner and manger). I did have a negative experience with one teacher. I don't really know what she was thinking! It was her fault that the bully knew my child struggled with (dyslexia) reading. I had informed the front desk that he would need assistance and was reassured this would not be a problem at camp. The young woman had the audacity to walk up to my child Point to her shirt and ask him to read it. Why the hell she thought that was a good idea, I don't know! Even when I tried to talk to her about it, all she could do was dodge the questions repeat I'm sorry with a tremendous amount of anxiety. She explained "I did it just to see if he could and it was not in front of the class". Yet the boy across from my child heard everything and immediately took advantage of this knowledge along with this buddy. This disruptive child seemed to have control over most of their peers due to the fact that they feared his bullying would intern be turned on them. Upon pick up, three days in a row I observed how disrespectful the child was to the teachers. This young boy created a very dysfunctional classroom environment! I believe the teachers and the owner did their best to correct the situation as it was brought to their attention. As my child attempted to defend himself his reactions became noted by the staff as engaging. My son is a black belt. I'm not worried for his physical well-being! I was concerned for his mental well-being. My son explained to me that he had to ask the teachers to move the child to a new location After he needed to scream at for the child to leave him alone. Thankfully they listened, and this seems to help some. The ignorance of the young woman choosing to test my child rather than take my word for it caused a lot of issues and unneeded distress! She is to blame, and unfortunately I don't feel she actually comprehend what transpired due to her choice. Even after talking to her and apologizing she still lacks comprehension. Some additional staff training would be helpful in this scenario. I do want to note this is a new business. They are going to need to keep working out the kinks as they deal with children from all different backgrounds and the parents with different levels of involvement. *My advice to the owner is to never say that a mother should not be concerned and should let their child work it out on their own because they are Old enough in his perception. He insinuated that I was doing some form of helicopter parenting, enabling my child from developing independence. I'm sure if my child had a roundhouse kicked the child in the chest he would've been singing a different tune. I know for a fact that this was a concerning situation! Thankfully the dysfunctional child was not there this week, so we could and have had an authentic experience without his disruption. If he returned and the situation continued, I was going to addressed the parents my self!
