First time visiting TJ in years and it was so much fun! I love a good food market hall, and I had…read moreno idea Telefónica even existed. It reminds me of some of the big food halls in Los Angeles (Grand Central Market, Haven City, etc.) packed with delicious food and beverage options. Just a quick Uber ride from the border and you can be munching on fresh ceviche and savoring an ice cold glass of house-made sangria. That's exactly what we ordered! I appreciated the option for indoor or outdoor seating. Since it was an extremely hot and humid day, we opted to sit inside, where the fans were a lifesaver. We ordered drinks at the bar inside and then picked up food from one of the several vendors outside. The staff was welcoming and checked on us several times, even offering our group a large table upstairs, which was a considerate touch. From coffee to pastries, sweets, snacks, wine, beer, seafood, pizza, and everything in between, Telefónica is a great way to start or end your day in TJ. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in town!

This place is amazing. Disregard any bad reviews that you may see…read more the truth is they have so many different types of food here, the biggest problem is deciding which one you want to eat. My advice, take a cheap UBER instead of driving as parking is not fast. When you arrive take a walk though quickly to get a lay of the land and see what the options are. Maybe grab a michelada on the way in since the bar is right there. I'd pick one or 2 or 3 places to try as long as what you order fits together. the last thing you'd want to eat would be a taco and a hot dog. BE MINDFUL: Realize you are in Mexico. This place wasn't really made for tourists, it's more of a local spot and it's pretty safe. That being said they don't usually care too much about dealing with complaints. Take breath a little bit Karen and enjoy the experience. The tables are open seating, so maybe while you grab food, send your friend to find a table. they also had a cat there that was so chill and wanted to be pet.

This place deserves five stars in their venue category!…read more Several restauranteurs have gathered to give the diner a variety of choices right there at your fingertips. Order what you want from each booth, and they give you a ticket to take to the cashier, and a table number so the waiter knows where to bring your food. We ordered from 3 different booths. It is an outdoor forum, but there is some indoor seating. It just makes for a really lovely experience when the weather is balmy. We sampled a few different tacos: The meat on the Taco de New York from La Taqueseria was just a little tough, but still very good. The Taqueso de Camaron from La Taqueseria might be the absolute best comfort food I have ever had in my life!!! The Pulpo (Octopus) Taco from Walter was surprisingly very good. The Cucumber mint lemonade was surprising. It took me a few sips to realize it wasn't loaded down with sugar, just fresh, natural flavors blending together. And, toward the bottom of the cup, I realized I liked it much better without a ton of sugar.

Another fun foodie destination in TJ: outdoors, hip decor, and with a variety of food/drink options…read morespanning classic tacos through mediterranean food. The day was just beginning, so I opted for an 8oz lager from Insurgente to start the day. Service from the bar was friendly - the bartender provided multiple tasters and recommendations. This crisp and refreshing definitely hit the spot for under $2. My friend had a trio of tacos and sangria. The food was fairly priced, came out quickly, and tasty (I tried a bite). Definitely an option to keep in mind for group dining. Looking forward to returning to try out more!
