No not the Sedona you usually think of but the real Sedona. The place people live, work, play, and the Sedona you find the off the tourist path legit local businesses. Yes it's out there past the tourist areas. Kachina House is the real deal! Upon entering the ladies there all said hello and were extremely welcoming. Everyone assisted us in every way they could and were truly excited in doing so. The treasures in this store are innumerable. I mean this store is the most authentic beautiful Native American store I've ever been in the Southwest. You will be in awe of the authenticity and beauty of what they offer. There's something for everyone from smaller art pieces to the large intricate one of a kind art. All of their offerings are tagged and signed by the Native artists who made the piece. Upon entering the main room offers some items for kids and mementos for the road tripper memories. There truly is something for everyone here. It's difficult to even describe the beauty of the store, its offerings, and the peace and serenity you will find while in their building. I've always heard about the feeling of peace and that 'aura and spirituality' that Sedona possesses. Well, the Kachina House truly has that feeling. It is the real Sedona. It's like a mini museum and you feel the Native American presence while you are there. Naturally there are items you do not want to touch or simply just shouldn't out of respect. I hesitate to even take photos of the inside and the offerings out of respect. I'm not sure that you can even take photos so please inquire with staff first. It's located inside a house, and you need to ring the doorbell to enter. Very nice and knowledgeable lady runs the store and even had pamphlets on the artists and info on they're works. They are open 7 days a week, unless the family that runs it away. There are a ton of interesting & intricate handmade items. Most things are expensive, but I have not seen these unique art pieces anywhere else, so I had to get a few things. Some of the Native artists are actually retiring and no longer creating, so I'm glad to have bought one of their last works of art.

We saw a vacant space, so we grabbed it. It was right in front of a cool little art shop called Sedona's Tree House. Poking your head through the door is enjoyable in and of itself. It's as if you've met up with the Ents of Fangorn Forest (The Hobbit) and have been carried into a magical treehouse dream, with a giant tree climbing up through the middle of the shop. The shelves are cleverly designed from beautifully rough cut and masterfully finished planks held up in some cases with what seem to be branches growing out from under them. Hand crafted Kokopelli wind chimes, nature inspired table and wall art, and various artsy knickknacks of all sorts are beautifully displayed throughout this cozy little treehouse-themed shop. We ended up buying a beautiful sun-themed wind chime for only $25 that we're looking forward to putting up in our courtyard when we get home!
