Really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in the original building so lots of stairs. Definitely a workout everyday....but with all the yummy food we were eating, that was okay. The bed was comfortable, the furniture dated, and the Murphy bed would be okay for a child, but uncomfortable for an adult. Loved having a private balcony. Location was fantastic, easy walk to Duvall street. Beautiful views of oceans, pool area nice, small pool. Beach area had tons of seaweed and wasnt raked so we didnt use. The pool lounge chairs were extremely uncomfortable! Honestly, the worst chairs. Cant imagine why anyone woukd pick them for lounging. In Overall really enjoyed our stay.

My parents and I stayed here for only a night but it was wonderful. This resort was absolutely breathtaking. I sat out on the balcony for hours watching the ocean in a very nice rocking chair. Between the two it was almost hypnotism.... The place was clean and had a nice living area with a TV, a small kitchen, one bedroom, and a good sized bathroom. I'm a big fan of vaulted ceilings, which the room had, with white beams across the peak. It stormed the night we were there but dammit if I wasn't going to take advantage of the hot tub anyway! We managed to make the best of it and I would have loved to stay here more than one night. Beautiful!

We have a time-share here with my in-laws, so we visit each year at the same time. This means that I spend 51 weeks a year counting down to when I get to go back and one week wishing time would go slower. The resort is near the Southern Most Point in what some call the quiet side of town. But it is close enough to Duval that you can walk to all of the hot spots with little effort. The resort is right on the water with a private beach, pool, and sitting areas. The views from here are beautiful and I have spent time most years photographing the ocean and nearby pier. The rooms have a small kitchen and eating area, living room and two bedrooms and bath rooms that can be locked off into two units. Basically everything that you need, but you'll probably spend most of your time outside or touring the town. Bottom Line: Great place.

Me and my friends stayed at the Coconut beach resort for couple days July 2020. One of the best experiences in Key West. I was in love with the location. Although it's a quite neighborhood the resort is couple blocks from the southernmost point. Walking distance to the most restaurants on Duval. This hotel is like a private paradise. It has an access to the private beach. Hotel is not huge but the property is big enough. Real tropical vibes. A great addition the resort has it's own underground parking lot. Great pool and even a hot tube ! Perfect for families and couples. We got such a great room with the sea view. I loved the set up of the room and how spacious it was. Super clean and cozy! Housekeeping is doing a perfect job. All of the staff members were super friendly and accommodating. I really appreciate help of the front desk staff members from the very beginning. Ksenia was awesome. She is doing an amazing job. All our requests were done immediately. I wish every hotel had such attentive employee like Ksenia. Definitely will be back! Thank you for amazing experience! Strongly recommend to stay at Coconut Beach Resort Key West.

This is the beach covered in seaweed.

We stayed the week of Oct 10, 2020 at Coconut Beach resort. The resort is well maintained as far as paint inside and outside, indoor furnishings, cleanliness, and overall appeal. Where we were disappointed was the lounge chairs at the pool. They are the most uncomfortable beach chairs ever. They need to be reconditioned. Although once I realized if I used my bed pillow on the chair they could be comfy. The beach which would normally be the highlight was unusable. The seaweed was piled up producing a stench that resonated throughout the pool area. Coconut Beach management making a small path to the water is not satisfactory. If not for the items at the pool I would have rated this as a 4 star. This 3 story resort has no elevator. The location is about a mile from the popular area on Duval Street which is an easy bike ride. Strongly recommend renting bikes for the week.

Amazing place .... location location location...... can not say enough about the girl behind the the front desk.... beyond helpful and friendly..... afternoon guitar player playing while your sipping your drinks makes you feel like your in paradise

Stay here! I have nothing else to say. Choose building B and enjoy your awesome and spectacular view with a cocktail on hands. Comfortable room with everything that you may need, plates, glasses, pots, pans... TVs and hot water. We will stay again definetely!!

We wish we had checked out and stayed at Marquesa hotel instead. But everyone was at the same hotel for the weekend so we stuck it out. For the price point, ones expectations are commensurate and this place was not even in the same universe as other hotels charging the same rate. The hotel is right on the water but in key west, the same can also be said for a gas station. Right away you know there's a problem because the elevator to reception smells like rotting seaweed (sargassum). The reception area seems like a guest room that was adapted and its small and dark and doesn't work. Then you get to the guest rooms from the year 1985 with chair railing and crown molding that has never seen a magic eraser in its life. Covered in 40 years of dust and who knows what else. The blinds have never been dusted or replaced in 40 years. Are you getting the picture? The head board had mystery smears on it. Floors were filthy with 40 years of accumulated dust. We dared not step one toe into the murky pool. We watched as guests sat there for hours, drink after drink, and never got out. Not even to use the bathroom? Ewwww. Every day the streets flood with high tide and poor civil planning so coming and going from the hotel means wading in ankle deep water and probably sewage, which is probably why the elevator smells so terribly. No wonder all the associates there seem so sad. I would be too if I worked there. I was sad for the resources and time spent here that I wont get back.

And inside the building the decor is keys typical but done so well and the entrance up the stairs is great. I also love that they have a private garage beneath the resort. Once we got our keys, we passed through the pool areas (more than one pool) and it's lovely; so tropical with tons of palm trees and other plants and it's kept so nice. We arrived to our room and was so pleased, so clean and decor made us feel good. As nice as everything was I wanted to go out for the night and the location for this can't be beat. Right by the Bight Marina so we have a lot of restaurants/bars to choose from like Boat House, A&B Lobster, Half Shell Raw Bar and Schooner Wharf and in the morning you're right by Cuban Coffee Queen. Also the location is walkable to Duval Street so you have more restaurants more bars and lots of action.

One of the highlights was the pool area--it's stunning, with a great hot tub and plenty of space to unwind. We especially enjoyed having our complimentary breakfast poolside, which made for such a peaceful and enjoyable start to the day. The one I'm writing about is more of the grounded/foundation/building kind, and on my recent trip down to Key West I had a pleasant experience at said establishment. My travels were with a handful of coworkers as we escaped the NY cold to get some Florida sun. They had come to The Galleon two years prior and stayed in quite an odd and anything-but-enticing room. Luckily, adding me into the mix gave the need for an upgrade to one of their larger quarters that faced the marina. We walked in and there was some awe to our reactions. Maybe it was all the negative convos I had overheard about their previous place, but this was quite the space (too much rhyming?). Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, a spiral staircase, a kitchen and dining area, and a breathtaking view (complete with balcony). We kept those balcony doors open most of the time just to really drive in that balmy feel. Beyond our rockin' room was the pool and beach area. Well, the pool was exactly as stated (a pool), but that beach? It was more of a tiny, sandy spot with a few chairs and no real waves. Hey, it was a way to get into the ocean and there was one of those floating wooden docks you could climb up on so it had that going for it. The rest of the outdoor area included a deck with plenty of tables and lounge chairs as well as the majority of this exterior section: the tiki bar. Hanging out back here really let the laid back Key West feeling sink in. So why not five stars? Despite the beauty of the room, by the third day, you could notice some wear and tear in spots that took away some of that original luster. Plus, it should be noted that The Galleon is really more of a timeshare, so housekeeping isn't an everyday occurance (we learned the hard way when we ran out of towels). Staff is also few and far between, but we ran into no big issues so this wasn't a problemo for us. Overall, The Galleon does deliver the essentials for a relaxing time when in Key West. You've got everything you need right there (including a nice happy hour special at that tiki bar) and a short walk away from the bustle of Duval Street. My coworkers are planning a return trip in two years and you can bet your bottom dollar we'll be shacking up again aboard the ship...er, um establishment that is The Galleon.

It's quite large and also had a few pools, nice beach, and the attention to detail (upkeep mainly) appealed to us, so we decided to stay here on this most recent trip. We selected the Le Mar house, which is sort of like a B&B with your own bathroom in each room. The house's décor is excellent... the upkeep is equally as nice! We heard that these houses (the Le Mar and the Dewey) were recently renovated and we could tell, as everything was shiny and clean, but overall, the staff does a nice job keeping things polished on a daily basis! The bed was comfy and the bathroom was spacious and nicely tiled. The shower pressure wasn't that great, plus it took forever to get hot water to the shower head, but we didn't mind, as it was so clean and nice and the shower was still effective. They have a nice selection of soaps/shampoo called Bee Nice, which offered a nice smell and effective wash. The towels were soft, clean, and kept stocked up in our bathroom. The décor in the room itself was beautiful and reminded us we were at the beach. The only issue with the room itself was that the TV uses WiFi to connect and it was horrible. We like to fall asleep and wake up to the TV, but it kept buffering and mostly didn't work. Plus, there was no sleep function accessible from the remote. The resort offers 3 pools... We chose the tranquility pool the first day, which was nice until a group of loud mouth guys got in and just became very obnoxious. They ran off most of the couples there by being condescending in a southern tone and constantly telling each other to hush as this was the tranquility pool, yet being on opposite sides of the pool to constantly yell back and forth... Juveniles! These types of people are generally why we don't like large resorts like this, they're often loaded with people to drink too much and don't know how to act. So, the next day we opted for the Shores pool, which is definitely a lot louder, as it's got music playing, about 5 times more people in it, a bar, and even live music a few hours each day. But the guests were all much more pleasant in this pool and we enjoyed being here a lot more. Plus, this pool is huge, so it's easier to spread out and have more space in the pool, with plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas too. The only issue here were the 3 different guitar singers that came in each of 3 different days... they were all horrible! (Note to resort - save your money, just play the regular music from the speakers, yacht rock was great, but these guitarists were very bad!) The report offers full service at this pool with a full food & drink menu. They also have a spa, which is location just off the side of this larger pool too. Housekeeping on point! She would notice when we left the room to go to the pool and she'd refresh our room, making it smell citrus fresh too! I left out checking in, but that too was friendly and efficient. They gave us a ride to our room and took our luggage up. The one thing I wish they would offer is a ride down to the "downtown" area of Duval, as it's pretty hot and to walk 7/10th of a mile every time you want to go out is a bit much, especially for those in heels. We noticed that the staff was always cleaning and keeping things straight around the resort. There were painters constantly touching up and it was evident, as there was hardly any rotted wood railing or chipped paint to be found... Again, great attention to detail! Lastly, the resort did a great job keeping in touch... sending texts throughout the day telling us what was coming up. They had plenty of activities, some looked really fun and the entire staff was very engaging. We'd definitely return here!
