We also stayed in room 303 A building B. Shutters on windows. It was so dark. The room was so tiny and not worth 500.00 a night. The desk staff was not very pleasant when we arrived. (not helpful at all) There were only 8 parking spots otherwise you have to park on the street. False advertising on the website. The pool was nice with the small beach. I found the pool staff very nice and always acknowledge us by saying hello and asked if we need anything. You could not bring food or beverages by the pool. CRAZY. We did bring our coffee and water. Dumb rule. (we are on vacation people) The restaurant next door is convenient but not the best food. If you stay here, make sure you get pool/beach view. They do offer bikes to rent. Duval street is only a few minutes walk and there is a convenience store on United St if you need anything. Make sure you check out the Alamo Bar. So fun. read more

I arrived at the property and immediately smelt a horrible odor coming from the property that I was willing to let go due to it being on the outside of the property . Once I stepped inside the lobby and smelt the inside of the lobby smelling the same way . I asked an unusual request if I could see the room that I was renting before I checked in . That was between 12:30 pm and 1 . The front desk manager informed me that the room was not ready but will call me and let me know when it was ready . I sat maybe outside for 20-30 mins and the front desk manager informed me that the room was ready and I could look at it . At this time she stated that there was no other rooms available for me to rent if I wanted a different room . This raised red flags for me because why would you say that not knowing whether I wanted to change rooms or not . I just simply requested to view the room before checking in . Walking up to and into the room I smelled a horrible smell of musk , mildew and overall bad smell . I walked into the room that seemed okay but I could not see myself staying here smelling this horrible smell . I invited my 72 year old aunt to come and see the room with me that she paid her portion of the deposit also . She immediately begin coughing and choking on the smell . We couldn't even get passed the first bedroom before we couldn't handle the smell of the room . On top of that the beach area was not cleaned or well kept and I truly believe you guys are now scamming people with the pictures and description of this property . I believe the manager choose to put us in this room that she knew had this unbearable smell ! I called back and ask to speak to her and she said that a two bedroom two bath suite mysteriously came available after only being gone off the property for 30/45 minutes . She then stated that she wished I would have said that before I left she could've accommodated me seeing as the rooms can be booked one minute and not booked the next minute due to it being a timeshare . I told her based upon her previous statement of it not being any more available rooms we found a healthier room. She said that the room would be gone if I did not check in . She told me that she would call me after speaking with her manger about returning the deposit on Tuesday at 4 pm . It is now Thursday 7:33pm and I haven't received one call about the deposit being returned read more

We stayed in room B303A . It was the worst. It had hurricane shutters on all of the windows which made it as if it essentially had no windows at all. We could get a peak-a-boo view of the ground if we stood right next to the window. This was an expensive hotel room. I complained at the front desk and they didn't care. Every single time we needed in our room, we were locked out and had to call front desk. They were annoyed (like we were not entering code correctly) and found out later, they gave us the wrong room, wrong code and our code actually worked on multiple rooms! This was verified because we had friends staying there as well- we were able to open all their doors. Extremely poor security. Paid for a private beach, but it was FULL of seaweed. They started to clean it up, however, it wasn't for the guests, they were shooting a commercial/taking photos so we weren't even allowed in the area!?! Pool is only open until dusk. Really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in the original building so lots of stairs. Definitely a workout everyday....but with all the yummy food we were eating, that was okay. The bed was comfortable, the furniture dated, and the Murphy bed would be okay for a child, but uncomfortable for an adult. Loved having a private balcony. Location was fantastic, easy walk to Duvall street. Beautiful views of oceans, pool area nice, small pool. Beach area had tons of seaweed and wasnt raked so we didnt use. The pool lounge chairs were extremely uncomfortable! Honestly, the worst chairs. Cant imagine why anyone woukd pick them for lounging. In Overall really enjoyed our stay. read more

Stayed here for a period of time during covid; hot tub and bar area was closed (no free drinks or drinks to buy), socially distanced chairs, and enforcement of staff and members wearing masks in public areas (not while in beach/pool chairs). Very much enjoyed my time here and wanted to write a review emphasizing my key points. Location: off the main strip so if you are with a young family, this is a perfect spot. I am in my mid 20s and liked being away from the party scene if I wanted to. The beach is small, but private and right next to a dog beach, which to me is a plus to see the pups running around. Rooms were sizable and had what we needed to make meals and store any leftovers. We rented bikes that made getting around the island much easier/cheaper than ubering. After talking with staff I know they are making some updates in the near future which will likely help any minor quality control issues in or outside the rooms! Stayed one night, and thank god. Staff was not helpful. Key locks were a joke, no chairs to enjoy our balcony I'm assuming because we had a studio. Private beach was covered in seaweed. Pool hours were terrible had to be out at dusk. So the next morning we went down to enjoy hot tub before check out and we told we couldn't sit because they were taking pictures of the resort. Which would have been fine if when we checked in they would have communicated that. Wpuld t recommend for the price. read more

My parents and I stayed here for only a night but it was wonderful. This resort was absolutely breathtaking. I sat out on the balcony for hours watching the ocean in a very nice rocking chair. Between the two it was almost hypnotism.... The place was clean and had a nice living area with a TV, a small kitchen, one bedroom, and a good sized bathroom. I'm a big fan of vaulted ceilings, which the room had, with white beams across the peak. It stormed the night we were there but dammit if I wasn't going to take advantage of the hot tub anyway! We managed to make the best of it and I would have loved to stay here more than one night. Beautiful! read more

We have a time-share here with my in-laws, so we visit each year at the same time. This means that I spend 51 weeks a year counting down to when I get to go back and one week wishing time would go slower. The resort is near the Southern Most Point in what some call the quiet side of town. But it is close enough to Duval that you can walk to all of the hot spots with little effort. The resort is right on the water with a private beach, pool, and sitting areas. The views from here are beautiful and I have spent time most years photographing the ocean and nearby pier. The rooms have a small kitchen and eating area, living room and two bedrooms and bath rooms that can be locked off into two units. Basically everything that you need, but you'll probably spend most of your time outside or touring the town. Bottom Line: Great place. read more

Me and my friends stayed at the Coconut beach resort for couple days July 2020. One of the best experiences in Key West. I was in love with the location. Although it's a quite neighborhood the resort is couple blocks from the southernmost point. Walking distance to the most restaurants on Duval. This hotel is like a private paradise. It has an access to the private beach. Hotel is not huge but the property is big enough. Real tropical vibes. A great addition the resort has it's own underground parking lot. Great pool and even a hot tube ! Perfect for families and couples. We got such a great room with the sea view. I loved the set up of the room and how spacious it was. Super clean and cozy! Housekeeping is doing a perfect job. All of the staff members were super friendly and accommodating. I really appreciate help of the front desk staff members from the very beginning. Ksenia was awesome. She is doing an amazing job. All our requests were done immediately. I wish every hotel had such attentive employee like Ksenia. Definitely will be back! We stayed the week of Oct 10, 2020 at Coconut Beach resort. The resort is well maintained as far as paint inside and outside, indoor furnishings, cleanliness, and overall appeal. Where we were disappointed was the lounge chairs at the pool. They are the most uncomfortable beach chairs ever. They need to be reconditioned. Although once I realized if I used my bed pillow on the chair they could be comfy. The beach which would normally be the highlight was unusable. The seaweed was piled up producing a stench that resonated throughout the pool area. Coconut Beach management making a small path to the water is not satisfactory. If not for the items at the pool I would have rated this as a 4 star. This 3 story resort has no elevator. The location is about a mile from the popular area on Duval Street which is an easy bike ride. Strongly recommend renting bikes for the week. read more

I have stayed in Key West a dozen times, and this resort is about average. Keep in mind the real estate in Key West is tight and lodging prices are relatively high. I have stayed at Coconut Beach Resort twice and both times experienced no problems. The pool is nice. If you want to swim in the ocean you will need to go somewhere else. The location is a couple blocks east of Duval Street on the very south end. If you rent a studio, you could end up on the street side so expect that to be just a place to sleep and shower...not much else. The rooms on the south side are nice and comfortable. Remember to consider renting bikes, scooters, or walk because driving a car isn't much of an advantage getting to anything on Duval Street. My only suggestion is I wish management would dump that complimentary "rum punch" at happy hour. It's simply awful, and that is what guests around me also said. read more

My husband and I came here in June 2018 for our honeymoon. I'm not one to leave bad reviews on Yelp, but we saved and saved for our honeymoon and I wouldn't want anyone else to have a similar experience. When I called to make the reservation (couldn't reserve online), the woman I spoke to was very nice and I was excited to be staying at what I felt was a small, friendly resort. The first two days were excellent. The room was small but we expected that as we rented a studio, plus, who wants to hang around in their room in Key West???? During our third night, we returned from dinner around midnight to find that there was water in our room, covering almost the entire floor. Not just a little bit of water - the bed skirt was soaked. There was a water leak affecting multiple units. We were given access to an unused room at 2am, and moved all of our things. In the morning, the water was turned off, and I went to the office to get the key to the new room. I was told by the person at the desk that we would have to move back to the original room. The person at the desk was rude and unprofessional, acting like we were bothering him. (Keep in mind I had to move rooms in the middle of the night!) I was obviously incensed and made clear that we would not move again, as we had plans that day and needed to leave, could not hang around the resort. Attempted to contact the nice woman whom we booked through and never heard back from her. I was told that our original room was ready. Because my husband and I still had the original room key, we checked the room. The water had been cleaned up but the bedskirt was still damp. Disgusting!!! We ended up staying in our new room, but only because I insisted. We contacted them again once we got home, expecting apologies or offers of compensation for the night we had to move - we got neither. A side note, I included a picture of the "beach" covered in sea weed. According to the bartender at the place next door, there had been a small storm about two weeks prior that kicked a lot of seaweed in. However, by that point, all the other beaches, including the PUBLIC ones, had been cleaned up. It was just the beach at the coconut beach resort that was full of stinking, rotting seaweed. Where I come from, if you're moving slower than the public bureaucracy, you're out of business. Overall, great location, extremely poor customer service. So so very rude. We stayed here for one night and we were very disappointed. The rooms are OK but the beds are old and very uncomfortable (back is still sore). We stayed on the first floor and could barely sleep due to some type of giant generator or compressor that ran all night long. That is not the worst of it. My wife told me check out was at 11:00 and around 10:30 while we were just about ready to leave, the house keeping manager came pounding on the door and demanded we leave or suffer a late fee. It was very confrontational. It turns out we were wrong but she was very out of line. I was in a shouting match with her at the door. It Made us feel like we were being evicted by the local sheriff. I realize she wanted her room so she could complete her schedule early but this was ridiculous. If she were my employee and had confronted one of my customers in that manner, I would have fired her on the spot. But it's not my business so all I can do is write a review and tell others to stay clear. You've been warned. check out the reviews on trip advisor. They say the same. read more

Just spent a week here on a timeshare trade and totally loved it! We only had a studio size room as that is what we have to trade but we had an ocean and pool view, what more could you ask for? Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Only drawback was our room was part of a larger unit closed off by a door and the noise level was annoying. We could hear everything that was said next door but fortunately it was only occupied part of the time we were there.Location wise it can't be beat! On the water and a short walk( the island is only a little over a mile across) to everything! read more

Stayed here June 1st -8th 2013, I must say one of the best vacations i had in a long time. Rained the whole week,when you get lemons you make lemonade...With that said we still had a great time at the resort. the people staying in the two rooms next to us were absolutely terrific,pleasant,funny and just plain great people. Love this resort! Staff is WONDERFUL, facilities are clean, tiki area and grills are awesome for group cookouts. My favorite is the covered porches with big rocking chairs; we spent hours just relaxing in the ocean breeze watching the cruise ships come in. The pool area is the best plenty of shade, plenty of sunny spots, in with the crowd or space to be alone, daily giveaways at the morning tiki excursion presentations. Stunning views - happy guests - plenty of entertainment to choose from - bike and scooters avl - tons of restaurants and bars to choose from - reasonable cab services. Perfect !!!!!! read more

just a warning....if you can't get an inside (ocean view) room, save your money and time and go anywhwere else.....just spent a week in a street studio and it was awful (they refused to upgrade or move us even though the property was less than full) we never got more than 3 hours of sleep due to trash trucks (5am), street noise and room noise....the room itself is so small that it is uncomfortable....only one chair, no table....we actually had to kick the door to get it to open....other than that, great spot, clean....just be sure of your room location read more
