We got free tickets for two dates with an "end of year" promotion. Even so, it wasn't too crowded...we'll be back next month! My 7 year old had a blast. She went on most rides alone (water was WAY too cold for me). Most families seemed to be doing the same...the park is small with lots of staff present.

I recently stayed at the CoCo Key Orlando Resort and overall had a great experience! Check-In Experience I arrived earlier than the standard check-in time and learned they charge a $50 early check-in fee. Since I didn't want to pay the extra cost, I left to do something else to pass the time and returned later. When I did check in, Brian assisted me, and he made the process incredibly easy and stress-free. I appreciated how friendly and helpful he was from start to finish. Room & Comfort I booked the King Suite. While the room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, it's not very upscale or modern it definitely has more of a motel-style vibe. That being said, it met my needs perfectly, and the best part was that it was located right near the entrance to the waterpark. As a mom traveling with my 7-month-old son and a stroller, that convenience was a huge plus! Resort Fees & Parking Just a heads-up breakfast is not included, and there's an additional charge for parking. You pay for everything in full at check-in, so it's best to be prepared for those extra costs. Breakfast Experience I decided to try the breakfast, and it was excellent! A big shoutout to Sandra, Valentina, Eli, and Marin, who were so kind and helpful. Since it was just me and my baby, they stepped in to help me juggle making a waffle and getting eggs and bacon. That level of service really made a difference in my morning. Waterpark & Activities The waterpark has a lot to offer for kids of all ages. Even though my son is only 7 months old, we spent time in the low areas and had a blast. For families with older kids, there are several fun slides both small ones you can go on with little ones and big ones for the thrill seekers. Check-Out Checking out was a breeze. I simply gave my room number and name, and that was it quick and easy! Overall While the rooms could use a bit of updating, the service, convenience, and amenities more than made up for it. The friendly staff, great breakfast, and family-friendly waterpark make it a fun and practical choice, especially for families with young children. I'd happily return for another stay.

Edgar is the best bartender and truthfully employee at this place. He is insanely kind and polite but the best part is how professional he is. 100000/10

    Marlin y Hasbleidy so sweet!

Marlin & Hasbleidy went above and beyond to make us feel welcome at breakfast! It was delicious and they were very hospitable! Super nice! Thank you for making my girls feel special :)

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and all the fun amenities they have. We loved the water park, pools and hot tub. We also enjoyed the bar and food for breakfast and lunch. My only two complaints is there isn't any elevators to go on the second floor with luggage easily and a lot of the staff that works the property don't communicate well when looking for help. But we had a great time and I appreciate all the fun nightly themes they have too like the foam party

    Breakfast buffet

We had breakfast at the buffet our first morning and Sandra was so sweet and welcoming! She felt like family and made my brother feel special on his birthday.

This place has changed so much over the years. Take a look at the new changes. Rooms are being updated and all food and beverage area are getting some huge upgrades. Check out the photos.

There, I encountered a peculiar spirit who led me directly to the wave pool. A tremendous wave crashed over me, releasing the spirit from my body--and, in a touching gesture of supernatural gratitude, he purchased me a cup of Dippin' Dots. In all seriousness, Typhoon Lagoon is one of my favorite water parks. The wave pool is fantastic, and Castaway Creek--the lazy river--is wonderfully relaxing. There are plenty of rides for thrill-seekers, while the entire park is beautifully themed around the aftermath of a tropical storm. Even the walking paths are thoughtfully designed, with little water sprayers keeping the pavement damp so your feet don't feel as though they're marching across the surface of the sun. There are plenty of dining and drinking options throughout the park, and the atmosphere is cheerful, immersive, and unmistakably Disney. The after-hours event is also a tremendous amount of fun, especially with the park illuminated at night. Seeing the slides, palm trees, wave pool, and storm-tossed scenery glowing after sunset gives the place an entirely different personality--almost as if the typhoon itself has returned from beyond the grave. Whether you want to relax, ride some excellent attractions, float along the lazy river, or be spiritually cleansed by a six-foot wave before receiving complimentary Dippin' Dots from a benevolent ghost, Typhoon Lagoon is well worth visiting.

The wave pool was hands down the coolest feature. Watching those giant waves roll in was so much fun and unlike any other wave pool I've experienced. I could have spent hours just hanging out there. The lazy river was nice and relaxing, but be prepared to exercise a little patience if you're hoping to grab a tube since they can be in high demand throughout the day. Pro tip: get there right at opening if you want to snag a lounge chair. They go quickly, especially on busy days. Another perk? Disney provides as many towels as you need, which was a nice touch and one less thing to worry about packing. Overall, Typhoon Lagoon is a great way to cool off, relax, and have some Disney fun.

Despite a rainy afternoon…read morethat caused more than half the park to clear out, we stayed, the weather passed, and we ended up having a great time. The park itself is fun, clean, and once the rain stopped the lines were much shorter. I was also happy to see that the hot water in the showers was finally working again. The last few times we visited there was no hot water, so that was a nice improvement. One area that really needs attention is the bee problem. They were everywhere. My daughter was stung, although I do want to give a huge thank you to the First Aid team. After I removed the stinger, they quickly brought numbing medication and ice, which helped tremendously, and she was able to enjoy the rest of our day. Aquatica should seriously consider investing in professional bee management, including traps or other safe methods to draw bees away from heavily populated guest areas. My biggest concern, however, was employee professionalism. Around 7:44 p.m., outside the Aquatica exit near the employee entrance, I observed what appeared to be an employee rolling what looked like a marijuana joint in plain view. If security cameras cover that area, management should review the footage. In addition, several employees at the food registers seemed more interested in asking girls for their phone numbers than helping the customers who were standing there trying to order food. The park is clearly staffed primarily by teenagers and young adults, which is understandable, but customer service expectations and professionalism need to be reinforced. Overall, we still had a fun day, especially after the weather improved, and the attractions continue to make Aquatica worth visiting. I just hope management addresses the employee conduct issues and the bee problem because both take away from what is otherwise a great water park. Oh also, if you normally use the green life vests, they did do away with those. That's the adult large. They only have XS, medium and xxL. I will add, the coffee at scoops ice cream area was very good. I got an vanilla latte

Staff had great energy throughout the night, and there is a good mixture of thrill / relaxing rides for all ages. Personally, you can always find me at a lazy river. I loved how they have your classical slow moving river vs fast moving river for people who want a lil thrill (my fave). The park follows a tropical theming which was enjoyable to experience, and has thoughtful details that make your experience more fun / immersive. Throughout the park, there are buttons that trigger cannons to squirt water at people. Similarly, buttons placed in the pools also trigger a bubbling effect-- even as an adult I found myself enjoying these little details. Throughout the night, there were also special character meet and greets for photo opps (Trolls, Shrek, HTTYD) + unlimited snacks (churro /popcorn) + freestyle cup were just a nice bonus Volcano Bay is definately worth a visit for anyone who loves water parks. Our driver Nate was friendly and welcomed us. He drove safely and got us to Volcano Bay without any issues. Gift cards can only be used on site and can not be redeemed online. (I was also able to pay for parking at Universal with one of the gift cards.) Lockers are, of course, available for rent. It was 7 of us so we got a family locker. That didn't work. We had to rent another family locker to hold all our stuff. The family lockers are not big enough if you have multiple bags. Some of the staff are cool. We encountered one team member who greeted almost everyone in the Kopiko Wai Winding River (lazy river). Why am I withholding a fifth star? First, the cost for lockers is ludicrous; $16 for the smallest unit, IIRC. A lot has changed the second time around. The pros: 1. Close to Orlando theme parks 2. Decent waterpark The cons: 1. Outdated and dirty property (garbage smell and dirty hallways, and elevators) 2. Dirty rooms and broken furniture 3. Poorly equipped rooms- we only had 2 towels and 2 facecloths for a family of 4 that were in the master bath. Second bathroom did not have towels or facecloths (we had to call the front desk for items) 4. The Kitchen was not fully stocked (no pans for oven, no sharp knives for cutting food, and no cutting board) 5. No housekeeping (we were there for 7 nights and not once did they show up). Did not have broom in the room or cleaning supplies. I had to empty all garbages in room the full stay and place bag in hallway. Garbage was only picked up once a day in hallway. There were always garbage bags in the hallway. 6. You are provided with a "starter kit" of supplies (one sponge for dish washing, one small liquid dishwashing soap, one dishwasher pack, one Tide for washing machine. One paper towel, one pack of toilet paper for each bathroom and 1 box of Kleenex for each bathroom). Once supply is depleted, you are responsible for purchasing additional items. 7. The pool area is overcrowded. If you do not get in line at 9:30 AM (pool area opens at 10 AM) you will not get a seat. I found people go to the pool area early (9:30 AM) drop off their stuff for the day and leave area. That means if you don't get there early to scoff up a spot yourself you are left standing. However, you have the option on spending extra money to 2 rent chairs $$ ($69) or a Cabana $$$ ($250) for the day. I had mentioned this to management and they said there is no way of monitoring this. That if I wanted a guarantee area that I would need to reserve/rent chairs or a cabana. 8. Expensive resort fees, daily. They charge resort fees on the day of arrival and departure. 9. Issue encountered with a booked transportation reservation (through resorts concierge) back to resort (from Epcot). Was left in an extremely dangerous situation by the resorts contracted bus driver. Me and my two kids were left stranded at Epcot. He "did not have the time" to take me and my kids back to the Grove (again, this transportation was pre-booked). He asked us to get off the bus at Epcot. He had to go to another resort (me and my two children were the only guests returning to the Grove). Bus driver said he ordered and paid for an Uber for me and my kids to go back to the Grove (all lies, as he did not order us alternate transportation). Tried calling the resort at 10 PM phone rang, selected front desk and was on hold for over 15 minutes. Was not able to get in touch with front desk at resort (no answer), Finally hung up due to frustration. I had to pay out of pocket for an Uber back to the resort.
