We went yesterday july 28, 2017 I am seeing some bad reviews.. And what I can say is. You get what you pay for. With that being said, I cannot comment on the hotel itself. We have never stayed there. However the water park I have taken my kids a few time (we have six kids) each time we had a pretty good experience. The water was clean, the staff was nice and for the price its well worth it. When you have many kids different ages its hard to find things all of them will enjoy, this is the place. The only thing I was annoyed with is... If you are not staying in the hotel they will not give you a towel.... I have not stayed in the hotel.. But to get into the water park its 20 something dollars.... Which is well worth it for a day of fun with a large family, beimg an orlando native I can tell you its hard to find anything to do less than that, that will take up the whole day... The staff was nice, however, the room was terrible. The toilet stopped up every time he used it the staff takes forever to come fix it so now you have to go find a bathroom that works I had to switch rooms at two in the morning with my one year-old because of it then the next room they put me in the air-conditioning didn't want to work when I tried it or when my wife tried it or my sister-in-law then when I called maintenance, they took forever to come check it out now . Then they try to put me in another room, then took me back to the other room to see why the AC wasn't working. He was playing with it until he got it to turn on and then told the guy at the front decks that the AC works just fine, the guy at the front desk gave me an attitude and so did the security guy at night. We came here for my sons 6th birthday. Sad to give this review because the water park is very fun for the kids but JAM packed with people because they allow anyone to buy a day pass. The worst part is the EXTREMELY RUDE staff. They are slow as can be for service and very nasty is you ask for anything that you pay for like: sheets, AC (window unit old school) in room doesn't work, phone in room doesn't work to call desk, simple things that would be expected at a hotel. Roaches and bugs In our room, mold, and screaming and drunk neighbors. We asked staff to clean our room as they didn't the night before but they didn't, only took out the trash. Found hair on our beds when we were gone to universal, as of the staff were living in our room! Website LIED about being on universal property and the shuttle system SUCKED AS IT LEFT AT 7:30 PM WHEN THE PARK CLOSES AT 10 PM AND 12 AM!!!! The shuttle comes about once in 1-2 hours AND ONLY TAKES 15-20 PER STOP! NO ONE WAS WARNED OF THIS!!! THE ROOMS ARE REALLY OUTDATED AS THEY ARE NOT WHITE NOR BLUE!!! THE ROOMS ARE A DARK AND TAN!!! This place is nasty! We stayed here five nights for a vacation from Chicago, first they tried to say they had no rooms even though we made reservations in March! Secondly after talking to them a while longer they finally got us a room, with ONE BED. It's five of us.. two nights after that we seen a roach on the wall while we were eating. When they finally found us a room with two beds it was the day before we were leaving, we seen a roach on the floor as well. And we told them about it they claimed "somebody must've brung them we don't have roaches." No honey y'all got roaches, point blank period! Great water resort! Not sure where all the bad reviews are coming from? But this was a really decent place! Came to enjoy "Family Night" on Saturday night using a groupon deal ($7). This gave our family some late night fun from 9:30PM-11PM: unlimited cotton candy and sno-cones, yard games, use of the indoor heated pools, a raffle, music, arcade, and a movie. They also have a poolside bar for the adults....Our 7 and 9 year olds had a great time tonight: They are currently KNOCKED OUT! .... shout out to Denise who was SUPER friendly and personable - showed us around the resort and walked us from the lobby to the pools. If you're looking for a palace, this isn't it. The rooms and water park are nothing like the photos. Rooms are dated even though ours was "newly remodeled". Air conditioning barely works. Laminate floors are slippery in the rooms. Shower is barely hot. That being said, it is clean. Pools are clean. A cute tiki bar and steel drums in the evening. It's lively. No complaints really at all in our stay aside from cosmetic. Never saw a bug, staff was friendly. Close to Universal. Like 10 minutes or less. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. So I was here from the 22-25th with my 3 year old and the only thing I enjoyed was the Waterpark and arcade. The room was ok but I couldn't connect to WiFi inside the room and I told the front desk twice about it. The baby roaches in the bathroom didn't really bother me much but they were annoying...Now what I did have an issue with was the giant size cockroach that was in my bed and bit up my son and I! I immediately told the front desk and he offered to switch my room but I declined being I was checking out the next morning...he refunded me instead for 2 nights but only gave me 60 something dollars which isn't even 2 nights...my son foot is swollen and hurts him to where he can't walk...I'm very disappointed in this hotel and I won't be returning. read more

We originally booked a 2 night stay check in Thursday leave Saturday morning. Anyways plans changed for the better so we decided to stay Wednesday and leave Friday. Big Mistake! Buyer beware! We arrived at 4pm and from the outside it's Ghetto and Run down Vibe, walk in lobby was Hot! 85 degrees outside that day. Waited a hour in line that felt like eternity almost like a ride without fast pass. Finally approach counter and they were preferring cash which I never seen a resort do. Sketchy to me. But I already paid in full. No friendly greeting nothing just to be told my room was not ready. I was in shock but figured ok he said he would call me. Now I'm sitting in the hot lobby with loads of luggage no carrier at Resort. Kids screaming and crying Cause it's hot and a 4 hour commute will do that to you. 1 hour goes by and I just want to crawl under a bus at this point. I walk up to counter wait in line again and finally get my keys. The rooms were disgusting the hall ways were nasty. No Elevators! I had to lug all the luggage up a flight of stairs with a toddler. Phone in room didn't work. 1/4 keys worked. Bathroom in our family room leaked all night. The pool had no towels! You will not be catered to no hotel staff and entire resort shits down at 11pm. No forks , no nothing. All locked up lol. The arcade stays open till 1 am spent 20.00 on a game card and only 1 game worked, no staff to help so again 6000 square feet of shit! This hotel is so run down! Did not get to enjoy water park bc we were packed ready to go the next morning I cxl the following 2 nights and ended our trip early. Would not stay here again. Room smelled damp and musty when checking in. The floor was FILTHY. There was hair on the bathroom floor and showers. If there was metal in the bathroom it had rust on it. As locals, it was cheaper to book a room than pay for two days of day passes for the water park. We were going to stay overnight, but it was too loud (bldg 2 near pool bar) and we found a live cockroach where you hang your clothes, so we went home for the night to return to the water park the next day. Horrible experience!!! My husband and his battle buddy created a family trip after their return from a very long deployment for a couple of days. The water park closed early without notice and were extremely rude about kicking people out of the water park. Our children were eating from their own facility, and we simply requested for them to give us more time for the children to finish. The assistant manager and manager were extremely unprofessional and disrespectful calling security. We were not in the pool and offered to pick up after ourselves, but that was not an option...the staff had to clock-out. It's so sad to see Florida attractions not living up to their expectations. Worst hotel EVER! They say free wifi but it doesn't work...atleast 6 other people had complained about this. Moved rooms 3 times due to a hole in the shower that was caused by water leak. I am going to break this down step by step explaining each process 0 stars for check in: We paid extra ahead of time to have one of the two rooms we booked decorated for a birthday. As we drove to the resort my husband called to make sure they set it up.... They didn't and they said they would. So we checked in and the room was decorated. We checked in two hours after check in time and it took an hour in a half to get to one room and two hours to get the other room. 2 stars hotel room: they gave us a handicap room for some reason. it was clean. We had double beds which are tiny. Don't let them tell you other wise. My husband and I couldn't sleep on the same bed. I slept on one bed with an infant and a toddler and he slept on the other bed. The beds are rock hard. Don't except to get a good night rest. The blankets were cheap. There was no fitted sheet. All the blankets where was two thin white flat sheets and a sort of knitted blanket. The AC in the room was loud and made so much noise when it was on. There is a mini fridge that couldn't keep temperature. No microwave. The bathroom looked ok. Since the shower was handicap there was no barrier from the shower so the floor got soaked and the only drain was the one in the shower. There were two plugs in the room. The bathroom and where the fridge was plugged. They had an alarm in the room but it was for show it wasn't plugged in. 2 star food: I looked at the buffet they have at the restaurant and it just looked nasty. You can tell the food was sitting there for a long time. It had a dry crust from the heat lamps. We got food and first they messed up my husbands order. He ordered something else and it took 20 min for fries and chicken tenders. Later that night I order a bacon cheeseburger and fries. It took 25 min when there were no orders ahead of mine. The burger was supposed to be a quarter pound maybe because of how burnt it was it looked like a hamburger meat patty from McDonalds. At least the lettuce tomato and bacon where really fresh. The bun was really good. 1 star for bar: they have cheap nasty liquor. You think they would be able to make a margarita, it's one of the easiest drinks to make. They even advertise for them and it was disgusting so much. I didn't finish it. I can't even describe what it tasted like. My husband asked for a jack and coke and they couldn't even do that right. He said It was mostly whiskey no coke. He tried the bar again and his jack and coke was stupid strong again. The bar tender suggested a drink called a hurricane for my sister and I and it was nasty. 4 star for little kids water area. My nieces 8&3 and my son is 20 months loved it. They all had a blast. They have water slides for the kids to go on even if they are under 36 inches. The kids loved it. The life guards were great with watching the kids. They are great at the job. I was very satisfied with it. 3 star older kid water area. The slides are fun and great. My family went down the blue and orange slide and it hurt our back. Every division in the slide would bump your back as you came down 3 star arcade games where ok and fun. Kids had fun they had really good games. 2 star security. I will say I didn't feel that safe all the time. At one point there was a man looking in every hotel room window. My husband called the front desk and instead of them calling security they send a small female who was working the front desk. If you do stay your kids will have fun. Plan on eating someplace else. We did breakfast at Denny's it's a five minute walk away. We ordered over the phone and picked up and ate in the room. Dunkin Donuts is right next door. read more

The hotel itself is not a resort but a funky moldy motel, literally falling apart... you can see this from the entrance. When you get to your room, hold your nose because it's like a basement of mildew ... very stinky. Long lines to check in and check out. You can only check in at 4 pm and leave at noon. They won't allow you to do an early check in or a later check out ... but it's the Bates Motel ...I woke up in the middle of the night, the hotel door was open. Really ? Unsafe, unclean ... Your kids may like this spot, but the adults...not so much. I HAD to stay at this, uh, "hotel" because of the group I traveled with. But as a normal practice, I do not do hotels with room doors open to the parking lot, and this place reinforced my belief. It's just another outdoor, dump hotel but with a paint job. The kids will love the water park, but for the more discriminating traveler--the ones who don't care for other people's hair in the sink; the ones who don't like rooms or halls with chipped paint; the ones who don't like yellow stains on towels; the ones who don't care for Redneck Randy smoking his cigarettes outside shirtless, you're not going to like this spot! Spend a few extra dollars and stay at a more known national brand. This spot claims to have wifi, but the speed is just about as fast as my 1995 dial up service. The best thing about this hotel was its gym. The two treadmills they have were both modern and in good condition, and they have a few free weights. If I graded them on their gym alone, they'd probably get 4 of 5 stars (there really shouldn't be a Pepsi machine in a gym, folks!) All things considered, I wouldn't come back to this place unless I was forced to. The other sweet spot to this place is it's next door to a Dunkin Donuts. Me and my friends stayed her for presidents day weekend and we felt like the odd group out. Only adults with no children. (BECAUSE SHE KNEW SHE WASN'T GOING TO BE IN, BUT WANTED TO MAKE IT SEEM AS IF SHE WAS HELPING ME!) Before staying at this hotel I obviously checked out reviews on Yelp and to be honest they were not too nice, I only ended up booking because of my nephews and the fact that they have a water park (which didn't even have all the slides open)... in the reviews I read people saying all the rooms stank and the carpets were dirty and the hotel itself needed an upgrade and I still booked it. I booked two rooms!!!!. And when I got there all the reviews were correct! the rooms stank, the ottoman in one room had a stain on it that looked disgusting, the bathroom curtain was small for the bathroom tub and I had to go and get Lysol because both of my rooms stank. The towels were perfect for the kids, but the adults it was ridiculous the size available!! Then I had bought a pack of water bottles and one of the fridges in one of the rooms ended up not working. Overall I hated my stay there and I will NOT be going back! When I arrived i knew I had to pay a deposit.. and they ALSO HAVE SIGNS IN THE LOBBY AS WELL AS A SIGN ABOUT PAYING WITH DEBIT WHICH CLEARLY STATES THAT IF DEPOSIT IS PAID WITH DEBIT, expect a 7-10 day hold from your bank.. My wife and I stayed here this past weekend, 9/6/14 through 9/8/14. First off, even though it's called a hotel, it is actually a motel (i.e. rooms are directly accessible from the parking lot with no indoor hallways). We did not realize that when we booked the room and felt that the name was misleading. The first room we were assigned was an outdoor facing room on the second floor. When we walked in, it smelled very strongly of mildew. The bathroom tile looked like it needed mopped and the register on the wall had dust falling out of it. The towels were very close to the register and looked like they had gotten dust on them. We checked the bed for bugs (as we always do) and found a dead yellow bug under the sheet. At this point, we asked for a new room, hoping that this was a random uncleanly fluke. The second room we were assigned was an inside facing room on the first floor. It smelled just as strongly of mildew and the bathroom tile was equally as dirty. In addition, the shower curtain had blackish stains on the corners. However, this room did not have any bugs in the bed, so we decided to keep it. The smell of mildew was so strong that we had trouble sleeping in the room the first night. This was also probably because the bed wasn't all that comfortable, the pillows were tiny, and there was no fitted sheet on the bed (just a thin sheet that was like velcroed to the mattress). We went to Universal Studios the next day and when we got back to the hotel that evening, we saw that the maid had opened our blinds and turned on our lights. This meant that every person who walked by our first floor room (which was in a relatively high-traffic area) could see into the room. Luckily we had put our iPad in the safe and our suitcases were closed, but we were still uncomfortable that every person who walked by our room could see its entire contents at a glance. We had planned to spend a second night at the hotel and leave the next morning. However, the smell of mildew was so bad that we decided to check out early and drive back home (a six and a half hour drive, meaning we didn't get home until after midnight) rather than stay in the room another night. We had booked the room through Priceline and had gotten it pretty cheap, so we weren't expecting it to be a GREAT room, but given that the motel is rated at 3 stars, we assumed it would be comfortable and relatively clean. Neither of our rooms were comfortable or clean. We were very disappointed and would not stay there again. The only reason this review has two stars instead of one star is because the front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating both at check in and when we moved rooms. I read some pretty bad reviews on the hotel part of the Resort but decided to get a room anyway seeing it included the water park for 4 people, which also includes the day you check out so 2 water park days. The room provide a place to take a break from the water action. The room was actually clean and cool when we arrived. By the time we got to the slides, a thunderstorm rolled and and everything closed for a couple hours so we wasted time in the arcade. The Arcade is not huge but not bad either. It has a good variety of games. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the water slides and the two pools that also had water slides. At some points however there seemed to be a shortage of tubes for the Surfers Splash and Boomerango slides where you ended up standing in line to get a tube then another line for the slide. The line for Over the Falls was never really that long. Everyone loved the water giant pail on top of Parrots Perch that tipped over about every 5 minutes sending a gush of water down to the bottom. Pay close attention to room billing. After I checked out, my credit card had 4 separate authorizations for the one night eating up over $800 on my credit card. But, be that as it may, it was an overall good two days. One hotel night stay with water park days included before and after is a good deal. We'll be back again before the summer's gone. read more

H O R R I B L E ... H O R R I B L E ... H O R R I B L E . My first paragraph is a synopsis of my experience. Coco Key is a 1970's era motel dump that got a face-lift with a new million-dollar water park. The place is dirty and smells. Most doors open to the parking lot or the pool deck. The water park was fun but wouldn't stay there for any price. Both mattresses were badly stained. Mold in the shower. Pool smeared all over the door. Housekeeping "misplaced" a pair of our shoes too! H O R R I B L E ... just don't go there!! Bought online during spring break when everything else in the area was expensive or sold out. The price, reviews and photos were pretty good so we decided to check it out. We usually do stay in 4-5 star resorts but in fairness wanted to give Coco Key an unbiased assessment. Our first experience was walking in and out of 4 buildings to get to our room. We walked from one offensive odor to another. Sewage, cigars, mold, vomit were all obvious. Most of the rooms open to the parking lot or onto to the actual pool deck. We were lucky and had been "upgraded to the penthouse building" said the front desk. LOL. The hallway to the penthouse was hot and musky. The kids were ready to hit the pool so we dropped the bags in the room and went straight to the pool and slides. The water park was a lot of fun. Easily worth $15 per person by itself. There were several huge slides on which you use tubes. There was a play area good for toddlers and kids. Also a large pool great for everyone else. Resort? No. But cool water park, yes. The lifeguard were really on top of things to the point that they were making me uncomfortable a bit as they constantly scanned the water. But would rather that than watch kid drown. Several people bumped their heads on the slides and I got a quarter size piece of skin RIPPED OFF MY FOOT from the slide.. but nothing serious to note. The room was alright at first glance. The hotel is trying really hard to make everything LOOK clean. Actually being clean is another story. I checked the beds for bugs. Both mattresses were badly stained and unacceptable. Perhaps illegal. I found an obvious foot-long smear of blood/feces on bathroom door and adjoining door frame. Rather than packing up and leaving.. which I should have demanded.. I stopped by the front desk on the way to dinner and asked they re-clean the room. They were very kind and responsive. The housekeeping manager has spoken to me and cleaned the room immediately. Upon our return we noted that they missed the feces/blood on the door frame and also (mistakenly?) stole my wife's shoes from the bathroom. It was late and changing hotels wasn't an immediate option. Decided to call it a night, so I thought. The AC decided to rumble at that point. Sounded like an airplane taking off in our room throughout the night. The bed was uncomfortable and I got very little if any sleep. We decided to hit the road. Packed up. Asked for a manager. Showed him my foot, photos of the feces/blood, stains on the bed, etc. Has a really great guy. Apologized. Said it was no problem if we left. Understood and didn't fight me. And I appreciate that. We ended up moving to a nearby resort. It was an extra $75 per night but was well worth not worrying about contracting a DISEASE from the room. read more

Stayed here for 4 nights for a vacation. The driving distance was good to all theme parks (universal, sea world, and disney). The area had a lot of places to eat (I recommend lobster feast across the street). We were greeted by a friendly staff. The lobby was very cute and clean. The room was okay, the bed was a little hard but the sheets were clean. There was a musty smell once you entered the room which was annoying and the bathroom smelled even worst. Once you turned the air on it was okay but my bf and I bought air freshener anyway. Good lighting and a flat screen TV. The bathroom was fairly clean. The only thing that really bugged me was the ceilings, they seemed to have started molding a little and no one has cleaned it. A big plus was the pool and waterpark. Relaxing and fun. I think they charge a little much. We paid about 80 bucks a night but with the tax and the $20 resort fee per night per room + a $50 security fee on top of that we spent more than we expected to. Don't think I would stay here again. read more

We stayed here for 6 nights while visiting family and got exactly what we were looking for. Our main goal was to find a comfortable room for sleeping because we spent most of the day outside. I was a little worried about noise related to children because this place has the adjacent water park, but overall the noise was minimal. We heard a few children yelling in the hallways during the morning, but night time was very quite. Just make sure to ask for a room in their tower, the rest of the place has a motel like look/feel but their tower looks and feels like a hotel. I booked through Hotwire and was pleased because we did not have to pay the daily resort fee, this was perfect because they only thing we did not have was access to the water park which we never planned to use anyways. The hotel is located very close to the freeway and has ample free parking. The only negative I feel is worth mentioning was that their towels were a bit rough. I think they just need to get new towels as the current ones have been washed repeatedly. Just remember you get what you pay for, don't stay here expecting a lavish place. read more

3.5/5 stars. 3 is unfair and 4 is too generous. Pros: Got the rooms really cheap. They have a bar at both pools. The water slides were kinda cool. The kids had fun. They have restaurants and buffet (didn't try either). Really great for all ages from 3-60. Really nice arcade. Free wifi (a little slow). Staff was really great and friendly. Cons: While the rooms weren't bad, I like the Nickelodeon style rooms that have bedrooms separated. The mixed drinks were quite possibly the worst and they were way overpriced. Stick to the beer or bring your own drinks. What rides they had were fun, they didn't have that many slides and the lines got a bit long at times. If you don't get there early, you will be lucky to find a table and you're not going to get a table in shade or with an umbrella. All the tables outside should have umbrellas. They played a movie for the kids at the regular pool at night. But it was a complete failure. It was on a projection screen that went through the trees, so only half of the screen was visible. It was amusing. There was a convenience store on the property, but it was slightly over-priced. Overall it was a fun time and we enjoyed it. Just bring snacks and water to save a bit of money. read more

The hotel itself was ok. The first room we moved into reeked of mold, and it took going back to the front desk, waiting 30 minutes in line again, and some minor bickering to get moved to a different room. The second room we stayed in was pretty good. I don't know what happened, but for some reason I was charged $30 for something when I checked out (The primary reason for the three star rating) The water park was great for kids of all ages. My daughter is three and loved the kid pool. All of the older kids looked like they were having a blast at the bigger kid part. Depending on what you came to Orlando for, having the waterpark at the hotel isnt a big bonus. I know when we were doing Disney and Seaworld, we didn't have any time for the waterpark so it being there didnt matter. The biggest problem with this hotel is the traffic! When I first got there I thought the hotel was in the middle of a horrible area, but further up and down the street there is a ton of stuff to do (shopping, restaurants, etc...), and it creates an insane amount of traffic. read more

The blonde foreign worker up at the lobby here was one of the most incompetent workers I've witnessed. I came super early in the morning around 5:30 am and asked for an early check-in. The male worker informed me I would be helped in half an hour when their business hours started. The blonde didn't know how to turn the printer on (she thought it was broken) and she didn't know how to explain the price breakdown of my hotel stay for me. She quoted one price and then showed me a receipt that had a different price. When I asked her why it was different she basically just said that it just was. When there was a fee on the document I wanted to inquire about, she couldn't explain it and didn't ask anyone for help. We had to hop over to three different computers because she kept thinking every printer wasn't functioning when in fact all of them were. She couldn't explain the tax and the resort fee to me and couldn't differentiate between what they would charge me vs. what I would get charged thru a third party hotels website or what I had been charged already. She eventually asked another worker who explained the fee and told me to ignore one of the fees written on the receipt. Ignore it?! I'm supposed to sign the document giving consent that I understand and accept the fee and she told me just to pretend it wasn't there. Outside of that, the hotel itself is alright. It offers a shuttle to universal studios which was why I chose the place. They also sell tickets to the park inside the lobby. The shuttle takes a while to get to the destination because it stops to pickup other folks at other hotels. The hotel also offers a water park for kids. The hotel room was a bit dark and didn't offer too many outlets. You cannot turn the ac on unless the door is fully closed. They brought us a rollaway cot which was helpful. read more

I've past by here millions of times n always thought it would be an overpriced cheap looking motel with a water slide in the back. Let me tell you, the rooms surprised me!! The decor is phenomenal. Flat screen tvs, nice beds, beautiful bathrooms and furniture. Everything was very clean. Service was excellent, all the staff was friendly and nice. The water park is bigger than I expected. 3 big slides, pool, kiddie pool and more. I loved being able to have my drinks/food anywhere around the pool. I had a "electric lemonade" it was good and an order of fried calamari, which was very good, very crispy. The drink was 8$, the calamari 6$ for a small portion. The place is crowded and loud, but I don't mind that. The game room is big and fun for all ages. Why not 5 stars??.... The kiddie pool and the regular pool were closed and we got no heads up before checking in. I only wanted to relax and go on the slides so it was ok for me. I don't have any kids do the kiddie pool didn't affect me either, but still... This is what they are charging for, a heads up would be nice. If I had kids on this trip I would have asked for a refund. read more

My boyfriend and I recently stayed here for 5 days. We booked it through a JetBlue vacation package. The vacation package from JetBlue had a great advantage that our resort fee was only $10/day vs $32/day. I booked this hotel before checking Yelp and was terrified due to the reviews people have left here. After staying here, I have to say, I do not understand the awful reviews! The hotel is on International Drive, which means there's supermarkets, fast food chains, deli's, and activities very close to us. It was a $25 Uber ride from Orlando International Airport, and any other Uber's including to Universal Studios was always less than $10, making transportation great as we both live up to the New Yorker stereotype and do not drive. They do have a free shuttle to Universal, but we went so early to our parks we didn't utilize them. The hotel was conveniently placed near activities and food. We were placed in Building 6, room 6527. That was a great decision because it seems like the rooms in B6 all come equipped with microwaves (don't quote me on this though), we did not have to rent one for 10 dollars a day. B6 is right in front of the convenient store, which made quick snacks or drinks easily accessible. We were a 3 min walk away from all the food and water park. Our room had 2 Queen beds. I would have preferred to just have a room with 1 King bed, but it was fine. The tv channels we got were awful, but it wasn't a problem for us, I brought my iPad with me. The fridge is small but you can take out the metal shelf inside to fit more. The toilet was annoying, it would never fill up all the way so flushing became harder and harder each day. It would eventually flush so we never had to call maintenance. Everything else about the room was fine. We had one water bug in our bathroom, which isn't the end of the world. The lamp in between the two beds was missing a bulb, but the outside light, lamp, and vanity light were enough. The waterpark was cute, it was open from 11am-7pm. The slides were fun. 3 big slides, the rest are in the big play area and are a bit more kid oriented. The lifeguards were all attentive, and the place was clean. The pool inside the water park was heated. One slide was closed for whatever reason, which was the slide that actually let you fall into the deeper end of the pool. I had a nice time at the water park, it's small but worth the $10 resort fee. We were there for about 3hrs, which included all the slides and playing around in the pool. There is an entire kiddie area for younger kids who want to play, that includes smaller slides and shallow water which is nice for families. If you are a hotel guest, you get access to a private pool and hot tub. Both of these are outdoors, and farther away from the water park. There is a bar next to it, but it wasn't open once the entire time we were around. This pool was not heated, and it became freezing cold towards the end of the night, as these pools are open from 8am-10pm. We assumed this pool would be heated like the one in the waterpark, but it wasn't which was super unfortunate. The hot tub was nice, but a lot of children were playing in it as if it were a large pool, which made it unenjoyable sometimes. There is no lifeguard on duty like there was at the water park, so be careful when it comes to kids running around and swimming! The food was hit or miss. We read that the pizza from the grill was a Pizza Hut, but it wasn't. The pizza was awful. I ordered mozzarella sticks on 2 occasions and they were delicious, so was the popcorn shrimp. It was a bit pricy but wasn't enough to burn a hole in our pockets. The breakfast buffet wasn't appealing for the price. They did allow us to look at what was being served before we had to pay, and we saw that it was like a continental breakfast priced at $13 a person, so we decided against it. My boyfriend and I are not huge breakfast eaters, so we preferred to just have a bigger lunch outside wherever we went or heat up leftovers from a restaurant the night before in our hotel room. The staff were very nice, didn't really speak to them much. My biggest complaint is it seemed as if no one knew anything at times about their own hotel. The resort fee includes a coupon book for Universal/IOA, which is great to check out because it will save you a few bucks at the parks. The arcade was cute but expensive. The prizes aren't great, but you have a lot of fun. There were a decent amount of games, a lot of them were broken. This is an inexpensive hotel. You get what you pay for. It's a 3 star hotel that made us both happy on our quick vacation for 2. We do not have any kids and still had a blast at this obviously family oriented hotel. The water park was the reason why I booked it because it worked great with our 2 day passes to Universal. After so much walking back to back it was nice to spend our last full day at the water park. Don't expect to enjoy staying here for days straight with nothing else! read more
