You order your food, wait for it and then you find a place to eat it or you can get your meal to go. Pooh ordered the double cheese smash burger and I ordered the Mexican burger. Both of us had a poutine. My Mexican burger was delicious; just the right amount of heat and the other condiments were perfect. Pooh enjoyed his burger too. The burger meat itself was juicy. We had smash burgers before at another restaurant but they were over cooked and dry. The poutine was excellent. The fries were crispy from the first bite to the last bite. They added some spices to the fries which made the poutine super tasty. There were only two people working behind the counter so there was a bit of a wait but believe me it was worth it!!

The Pad Thai was very tomato forward almost like ketchup My General Tao was okay as well. I wished the nuggets were more crispy and had some flavour Basic Chinese food. The Won Ton was unimpressive and didn't stand out. Oddly, our table didn't have any soya sauce and I didn't bother to ask. The General Tao was a decent portion served in a gastronomical fashion. It was very good and probably saved this placed from earning a 2 star or less rating. Nothing comparable to some places in Montreal but served its function. No fortune cookies. Ordered coffee and it was pretty bad. All in all, a forgettable experience and the next time I'm in Joliette, I'd probably hit another resto.

Reminded me of 20+ years ago in the US when Quiznos was booming. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty, even though it was later in the day. We started with drinks. Pooh's dad (Andre) and I had Bloody Caesars, Pooh had a beer and Marie a house cocktail. The cocktail was too floral. Our Caesars were great. For appetizers Marie and Pooh had mussels, Andre, a Caesar salad and I had the French Onion soup. Andre's salad was a good size; Pooh and Marie enjoyed their mussels and my soup was very tasty Before the appetizers arrived a panier of warm bread and buns with a delicious olive oil and parmesan cheese sauce was brought to the table We ordered the Table D'hôte. Marie, Pooh and Andre had the fillet mignon and I had the bavette (flank steak). The cook on the steaks varied. Pooh and I ordered medium-rare; Marie ordered medium and Andre ordered medium-well. Pooh's steak was medium and my steak was medium-rare at the thinner end and very rare (almost blue) at the thicker end. Pooh, Marie and Andre had a baked potato without any butter and I had french fries. We shared two bottles of Italian red wine which was an excellent choice for the steaks. For dessert we had the brownie with ice cream. The brownie was dry - we needed the ice cream to help get it down. Pooh, Andre and I had a Brazilian coffee to wash everything down. Marie was driving. Not very healthy sides, but tasty. We bought a piece of chocolate cake for later. Oh, my! It was moist and delicious. It had coconut shavings on the frosting. Audrey the cashier was friendly. Flavors, textures are all spot on and are a great equilibrium between traditional french cooking and new world modern twists.
