Yelp steered me right and brought me here on a Thursday morning. Walking in I wasn't sure if this was only a coffee/tea spot or if they sold cocktails and beers too. The bar area and decor lends itself to look like an old bar and it has great vibes! No beer or cocktails here but they do have a seemingly delicious menu! We didn't eat anything while we were here because we had breakfast prior to coming in. The menu had an array of offerings and sandwiches that I could see myself coming back and trying in the future. I ordered a Mexican Mocha and my mom had a cold brew. Service was fast and friendly. We found a nice spot close to the windows and I was able to look around at all the relics around and displayed at the front entrance. After we got our drinks, one of the owners or managers, walked around offering delicious slices of lemon frost cake. I was so appreciative that this just made our delicious coffee even better! I saw many students and other folks reading and studying while we were here. The atmosphere lends itself to do so too as it is chill, quiet, and quaint. I will definitely be back again. This spot was super unique and I really love their smart branding and logos/brand identity.

A Masterclass in Authentic Puerto Rican Comfort. From the…read moremoment you step inside, this vibrant eatery transports you directly into the heart of a Puerto Rican grandmother's kitchen. It is an exceptional culinary experience, paired with the kind of warm, attentive hospitality that has become exceedingly rare in modern dining. The staff here are genuinely delightful, executing a service model that is both highly efficient and impeccably clean. Operating as a curated, staff-served buffet line, the setup allows for effortless customization while ensuring pristine presentation. The value proposition here is outstanding, offering remarkably generous portions at a very approachable price point. The spread is impressively comprehensive, featuring an expansive salad bar, a dedicated dessert display, and a rotating selection of hot entrées. The technical execution of the food is flawless: * The Sides: The mashed potatoes and corn are a revelation--whipped to a light, cloud-like consistency that delivers a perfect balance of buttery richness. * The Staples: The rice is impeccably seasoned and cooked to an ideal texture, serving as the perfect canvas for the deeply flavorful, expertly prepared beans. * The Plantains: The fried plantains are a masterclass in technique, boasting a beautifully crisp exterior that gives way to a tender, caramelized interior. * The Protein: The roasted chicken is a triumph--so succulent and deeply infused with flavor that it commands the plate entirely on its own merit. With a weekly menu rotation that promises new daily variations, this establishment has deservedly earned a permanent spot in my dining itinerary during my month-long stay in town. I look forward to exploring the rest of their repertoire.

We walked in just to "check it out" and ended up leaving after eating a REALLY GOOD BURGER. The…read moreservice was great, the restaurant was clean, and the owner took the time to explain the menu and make suggestions. We ordered Da Slippah, and it was an EXCELLENT choice. He even showed us around and introduced us to his family and staff, which made us feel right at home. The food came out quickly, and the burger was fantastic--but the true STAR OF THE SHOW was the bread. Think Hawaiian rolls, but softer, fluffier, and sized for a burger. These burgers were no joke: meat, cheese, grilled onions, and a secret sauce--and honestly, they didn't need anything else. The grilled onions and sauce were the perfect compliment, and you could taste every flavor in each bite. The drinks came in cans. I didn't notice a fountain setup, so that might be why. It would've been nice to have a cup with ice, but I didn't ask, so maybe that's an option. Overall, this place is definitely worth a try--and we will be back!

I can't speak on the authenticity of this place as far as ethnic cuisine but I can tell you this was hands down one of the best burgers I've EVER had and I've had plenty!! It was a smash burger style. I love my burgers soft and this just melted in your mouth. Wasn't a fan of the fries but who needs them? I told my husband if I come back (we don't live in the area) then I am getting 2 burgers instead of 1 burger and 1 fry! Ordering was simple and fairly quick. The time to receive food wasn't too bad either and that burger was worth any wait anyways! Hope this place stays around!

First time at Chicken Salad Chick and it really transports you to a certain era! It's like jumping…read moreinto a Vera Bradley purse, it's so fun and kitschy. Never did I expect to find a whole restaurant dedicated to chicken salads, but it actually makes for a very satisfying lunch spot. They have daily specials and on Friday we were excited for their tomato bisque. I tried their pimento cheese chicken salad, and sorta regretted it because it was very sweet when sandwiched in a croissant as my bread. My partner picked their new Jill pickle chicken salad on wheat and as a BLT, it was a much more savory option. We split and swapped our sandwiches which made for a good balance. I also tried their broccoli salad as my side and liked it. It had a light mayo dressing and a bit of cheese and bacon. Their tea options were also good and I drank their peach ice tea. Next time I want to try their buffalo chicken salad or maybe take home one of their to-go portions as an easy meal for the week. I support this restaurant concept! It's so smart that it's next to a healthy grocery store like Sprouts. The food came out super quick too!

But that…read morechicken salad BLT sandwich has stayed in my mind making me drool at night, sometimes after they're closed. So today I decided it was time to revisit. It's a little hard for me to eat inside restaurants anymore so I do mostly takeout, especially take out brought to my car. Just less pain for me. But OH this is worth the discomfort. Not that it's hard for handicapped. Parking is close to the building and handicap parking is close. It's easy to push open the door and plenty of room to walk or wheel through. I happened to stumble upon customer appreciation day, so was instantly greeted and handed a cup of Carol's chicken salad to take home. Wonderful surprise. Now I have to talk about the staff here. Always so friendly and helpful. And they don't just stand behind the counter. They come out and help. There are a number, a lot of varieties of fillings to choose from. They offer samples of any you wish to try. So you see it could take a while but it really doesn't. What with my pain and some new varieties since my last visit I was a little scatter brained. But they treated me like a loved friend or family member not annoyed at all. She even noticed my military ID when I got my credit card out and gave me that discount automatically. I also sat where I could see them react with the take out and pick up customers. Again smiling, friendly, helpful...helped to carry out or check the order. Could not have been nicer. Had them sit if not ready and brought to the table. So really above 5 star on that! Now the food. Not quite five star...but maybe that's me. Maybe I ordered wrong. It's been a while and I'm really nitpicking here. The bread on my sandwich seemed to be grilled, not toasted. Only one side of the bread was toasted and it was both very thin bread but also very limp and floppy. Maybe toasted on the menu meant grilled? The other tiny thing and again really nitpicking is my bacon. It was not warm...so it didn't have the best flavor profile it could bring to the sandwich. Now was this a bad sandwich? Not at all, it was a great sandwich which I gobbled and enjoyed. But those two touches have pushed this sandwich to even more stars before. Again I'm nitpicking this sandwich. The soup was great. I was getting another flavor and the photo made me change. It was fantastic ditto the grape salad, cookie, great pickle. Highly recommend...
