I had ordered onion rings as my side, and when my dish was finally served I had gotten fries instead- but again, too little time to raise a fuss. We all enjoyed our dinner, but the wait ate up any goodwill we had. The view, however, is fantastic especially as the sun begins to set. Do not let this deter you though, the food is worth it. Luckily for us, we only waited about 15 minutes for a table for 4. Once seated, our waitress soon followed with menus and a pitcher of water. She was quite lovely and attentive. To start, we ordered their chips and salsa (although I do highly recommend the street corn if you are feeling something different). The salsa is great and tasted fresh! The chips had a nice texture, but definitely needed the salt we added to the bowl. It did not take long for any of our meals to come out once we ordered. I personally got the carnitas tostadas, which were amazing. I could only eat one cause they were piled high with toppings (and I ate too many chips before). The pork had great flavor and paired well with the other toppings. Warning though, the black beans here are great, but on the spicier side! This caught one of us by surprise at the table. Overall it was a great evening, and we were in and out quickly from the meal. Just be prepared to wait a little for dinner, and plan ahead for parking! And watch out for those beans!

$28 Pasta... With the Wrong Noodles…read more I had been looking forward to trying Sugo for a while, so this visit was pretty disappointing. I ordered the Pasta Carnivora, which the menu clearly lists as coming with spaghetti. What arrived at the table was fettuccine instead. That might seem like a small change, but pasta shape actually matters. Different noodles hold sauce differently, and swapping spaghetti for fettuccine completely changed the balance of the dish. The thicker noodles made the plate feel heavy and didn't complement the meat sauce well at all. The bigger issue was that no one mentioned the substitution. If the restaurant was out of spaghetti, that's understandable, but customers should be told and given the option to order something else. I absolutely would have chosen a different dish had I known ahead of time. For $28, I expected a lot more attention to detail. When a menu describes a dish a certain way, especially at that price point for just sauce and noodles, it should either be served that way or the change should be communicated. Maybe this was just an off night, but if the dish had been served as described on the menu, the experience probably would have been very different. Unfortunately, this visit ended up feeling like a waste of money.

The restaurant has a great covered patio area that we were hoping to sit on, but unfortunately, after waiting for outdoor seating, the hostess gave our table to another group. We ended up seated inside, right in front of a huge speaker that was blaring Spanish party music. I could barely hear the server, and he had to lean in just to take our order. We couldn't hear each other well enough to have a conversation, even while sitting right next to one another. Our friend on the other side of the table couldn't hear us at all and eventually put in her noise-canceling AirPods and looked at her phone because she was basically alone at the table. To make matters worse, someone behind her kept bumping his chair into hers the entire time, even though she was already sitting as close to the table as possible. The tables and chairs were crammed far too close together. I'm sure the experience is better when it's not a holiday event, but the noise level and cramped seating could definitely be improved.

Sweet honey glaze bacon was wrapped over plump shrimp and cooked to perfection. And the Boudin balls were OMG fabulous, too! My hubby fully enjoyed his dish, a combination platter of catfish, crawfish and shrimp. Of course, I had to taste it... so good!!! The portion sizes were more than enough for a meal, and a late night snack for later. (Trust me, it won't last past the night.) The Service Manager, Latia Horton, took our experience to the next level!! She genuinely chatted with us about how the restaurant was started.
